I say to heck with green point stadium and the parks, we the public need the water. CT water management personnel should do something about it and there also seems to be a lot of wastage.

I don't know what amazes me more, the fact that this exists, or the fact that I used to live just a stones throw from there (a bit further up in Sidmouth Ave) and never knew about it! Well, I knew that there were loads of rivers, and so on, in the area, but didn't know about these springs. That's very cool, and I can only hope that the City of Cape Town is using them as much as possible to help lessen the ongoing water crisis!!

the springs produce around 5 - 10 million litres per day.... CT uses 600m per day.

Nice but a marginal quantity compared to the need.
Cape Town currently, with water restrictions, consumes a minimum of 520,000,000 liters per day.
This well produces a bit less than 2,500,000 liters a day.
This is less than 0.5% of Cape Town's daily need.

The native people built these, probably in slavelike conditions. They also found the springs since they are of the land.

Lol your city is out of water and your still worrying about whether a white or black fella built it or found it. Lol its like two ants arguing over huge rock. The rock will outlast em all. Mother nature owns the rock and she doesn't care what colour you are.

Yes, Green Point eco park, and the rest flows into the sea... idiotic, right?
One of my colleagues approached Patricia De Lille regarding this, and she appeared on the front page of the Cape Times, but did absolutely nothing about it...

They were warned about the draught round about when Greenpoint stadium were upgraded and yet, they made sure they can get the stadium be sorted with water, but what about the people.

Soooo, temporarily human consumption at home could be more important; than at sport venue's. Running out of good potable water, sooner, because of *less - important use. Hard to explain to a dying√ child or grandparent ? Matt.7:12/ Romans 12:20/ 13:10 Love works no harm, to its neighbor. When the supply was small, God took care of the widow, her son, and Elijah. Hebrews 11:6 LORD Bless...🙋
