The new maps actually add SO much to the game. When i played before, i'd just land and look at the main structures. Now you can see "hidden" things on the map and go explore them, even on the very first map that i didn't even see before. Just for that alone, it's a brand new game.

I played the beta and loved it.
They have fixed so many things that annoyed me about the game.
Land vehicles, more POI variety, and a working Brig and Infirmary would be nice to have next.

Congrats on reaching 1K subs, Richard. Both you and Marika deserve it. 😀😀 One thing I can report. The update seems to have fixed the ship shield bug with certain assigned crew. Their bonus now gets added. But not the part of the bug where it's not adding in player's skill bonuses from the skill tree on top of the crew. Boo. I finally just gave up and corrected the value with a console command. Which I don't like doing. But I'd finally had enough.

I can't wait ACTUALLY customize the interiors of my ship. This only will probably get me to play for 1-3 weeks. I'm still waiting for MODS to bring life back to this game. Lol
Ship decoration is huge.
@@RichardBejtlich It is! But it's also one of those things that, "should have been in the game from the start," sort of thing.
I SORELY want more enemy varieties. Especially in space combat, all we have to fight there is space pirates!
This is the biggest part of this update for me (alongside maps). I saw in the patch notes they also fixed disappearing weapons in weapon containers!
Now, every storeroom, companionway, hab, and cockpit with room has a bed, storage, workbench, or bounty board in it, not to mention empty habs. Small ships are back on! I actually bought my Starborn Guardian III back to decorate. At one point, everyone on my ship except Cora and I were asleep! Amazing!
It’s such a great development.
BTW when I updated my Xbox series S I saw the version had incremented to 1.11.36 for this final release. I'm hoping there's more goodies in here!
No performance mode for series s though...
This brought me back to the whole game. I’d love a video on how the combat changes make the game feel. I love the sustenance and vendor credits options. I’ve been waiting for this for months!!

They’ve fixed a lot of the qol stuff I had to use mods to fix before which is nice. Gameplay options look great, I had a real problem with the balancing originally. The new maps are cool too, it’s nice to see some 3d maps again after all of the kinda vague ones we have in fallout.

I've been playing using Xbox Cloud, on my ROG Ally. These performance and quality of life improvements are very welcome. Glad to see the update, and thanks for the great video as always!

@@RichardBejtlich it's awesome! It's allowed me to play a lot more over the last while. We have a 1.5 year old, and time and tv are few and fair between. Battery life could be better. But it's not a huge issue for me personally!
The best part about the customizable ship habs is that you won't have to deal with all the clutter bloating your inventory every time you modify your ship.

Holy crap that messed me up at first.... I kept adding cargo modules but the ship just kept getting overloaded.
Finally i checked the misc. tab of the ship's inventory & all was revealed!
You can sell it to vendors though. A large ship's worth of crap is worth a few thousand.
I wish they added a game setting to make the temple minigames less annoying, I'd even take an XP hit!

Lowering your damage turn enemies into boring bullet sponges, I would rather increase my damage while increasing enemies damage, so the fights are more lethal and realistic just like fallout survival mode
Yeah you can make it lethal pretty quick if you want.
I did this I made it where i get kills with 1 shot on heads but npcs can shoot me 1 shot lol

I love the update. It validated all the work I put into leveling up the hard way.
Playing the game.
So extreme just feels good to me. I can build micro habs on any planet regardless of atmosphere and fully built out physically, which means I rejuvenate naturally and resist both pain and atmospheric conditions.
I've completed all Reseach branches, so I have access to pharmaceuticals like Hypergiant Heart, which delivers 500% damage resistances and 100% power recovery for 5 minutes.
Additionally, since I ground my way up in levels I have an arsenal and Bounty Hunter Outposts built in all the outer systems near in-system mission boards.
And, ... a main base and custom ships and, ...
I'm glad it's out.

Now, ... they are sweating bullets to get them.
It's a labor, folks. Grenades suck, but L4 in Demolition gives you +50 DR resistance to explosives.
All makes sense now.
Now it's possible to collect resources on super easy mode, then ramp up to +75%xp for maximum craft farming

Is the area at main settlements also procedurally generated meaning Points of interest while I’m inside of new Atlantis or akila city I wanna explore with the new map but I’m not to going for basically nothing

The Va'ruun Shroudbearerud is bugged in my game, the mission is still showing in my mission list, and keeps prompting me to do it whenever I complete a different one, but won't let me see it's location on the map, or set course to it, and if I travel to the system/planet the mission details say it's in, it's nowhere to be found...🤷♂️
I think it bugged because the first time I encountered this ship, I ran from them & grav jumped out because my ship was too weak at the time.

Just played update on my series x. Can no longer take ships in space. When you undock/dock enter the ship menu and make taken ship your home ship it locks you in the menu and you have to quit game . Pissed.

I started a new character to test some of the new Game play options and the Frontier disappeared when I boarded one of the first Crimson Ghost ships in the tutorial space battle... I really hope they reverse that decision!

I had the same problem with the question.Mate , and when I did new game +a long time ago , it fixed But now if you go through new game plus which I am twenty plus You can change your Perks or talents.I think something Iike that

I have all options on extreme or maximum. I got Hypothermia and frostbite. I was trying to cure the yellow bar from the damage you receive similar to rads. I cant sleep in my ship or wait because frostbite always gives “pain damage”. My only options to cure hypothermia and frostbite are to travel across the galaxy and see a doctor? Is that correct? Was my game bugged? Am i doing something wrong?
If i had just hypothermia i can cure that by sleeping on my ship, but if you get hypothermia and frostbite you are screwed completely until you see a doctor? Is that correct?
I think the fastest way to heal with those settings is to see a doctor. I heard some people saying otherwise you have to hope to heal naturally over time. That's one reason I didn't choose that option. If we get a working infirmary on the ship or a companion who's a real doctor, I would consider being more extreme.

I had to turn off most of the extra affliction extreme settings just because i enjoy scanning planets and that includes extreme planets that will get you the yellow bar of death fast. And it just doesnt make much sense the way they want us to cure the yellow bar at extreme settings. Its like having to go to a doctor everytime u get rads in fallout.

This update did not fix the ryujin questline, at least not for saves that have hit it. Thankfully I got it done my first playthrough but on my latest it's bugged until ng+

I would try now. I plan to record a new video why and hope to get it out tomorrow or Friday. Once you get past Vectera and can do whatever you want is my favorite part!

I restarted my game completely and have spent over 8 hours purely on Jemison just exploring and collecting absolutely everything 😂

I 100%ed the game with about 430 hours and enjoy the update. . BUT......they didn't fix the ship shields bug! I still have barely any shields on all of my best ships. I'm bummed.

Turn enemy damage to Extreme, and player damage to Very Easy. Turn merchant money to max and carry capacity to increased. Thats like 50% of the problems of this game

Yes !!! This is what brought me back to try and beat the game for the first time. I 1 shot head shots and so do the npcs shooting me which it makes it REALISTIC AS FUCK!

Nothing official yet.
The May update brought me back, especially the ability to set gameplay parameters. The dialogue is still lame and the quest lines are still hit and miss (UC is good,, CF is good, Ruijin is OK, Rangers are pretty weak, Constellation is dull as hell), but the combat is much more enjoyable. For me, I don't see myself playing this game the way I did (and still do play) Skyrim. After the most recent updates, however, it is at least reaching Fallout 4 levels of enjoyment.,

Sadly the floating landscape bug has reappeared when loading into space, and for some reason when on the ground the map opens to the whole planetary map, not the ground map. Oh, Bethesda. lol
Reload? I had a white screen issue but fast travel elsewhere fixed it.

Lol.. I have bunches of random floating chests & crates near my main outpost, some with random items, some with none, some only partly rendered..
I just guessed they may be there because my base has so many crates, most of which are full, and for some weird reason maybe the game was randomly generating extra storage by itself as overflow from every time I've tried to dump ships cargo full of resources into another new crate..😂

These things are so big & complex nowadays, all you're ever going to receive is the current build when the people controlling the game's development say it's time to release.
Another way to see it is how great it is that even after you've paid for a game, the developer continues working on & improving it!

Yeah, I tested ship stealing in space last night. If you do the undock - redock - make home ship sequence, it locks up the Xbox controller. If you just undock and make home ship, it's fine.

OVERRATED Update... The ship customization is just 1% of what players want.. The need to do more asap before no one comes back for the major DLC.

A feature I wish they would do is make it to where I can customize my hud how I want it, I'm on xbox so I can't download any mods unfortunately but just a setting where I can take away the health and ammo bar away and just leave the compass and way points without having to remove the whole hud
