Verry Well done Stripey.........i asked the guy who makes the Vesuv if he can make a 2 part windshield that fits inside a Toaks 700 mug and sent him a video of the Storming Norman . He said he would look into it but he never got around to it. You are filling a much needed gap in the market and i personally am really looking forward to being able to buy one :)
Thank you very much! The reason I started the whole project was actually the reason that I couldn’t find any ultralight, high efficient alcohol cone which would fit into my pot. As you mentioned there are some cones out there but they are either not nesting in the pot or they have in my eyes some massive design flaws not just regarding the efficiency. It makes me questioning if the companies actually used the cones themselves 😂 Hopefully I can get the other open points sorted shortly that we can start with kickstarter soon. I will post a proper video to the cone before the campaign starts - thanks a lot Stripey
@StripeyHatGuy you're welcome Stripey. The most effective burner/ windshield combo i have come up with is to use thr Trangia gel burner with some heat resistant felt inside and a vesuv 600 windshield and Evernew 600 pot. Maybe using the trangia gel burner this way would be best for your 700 featherlight system because it gives out a lot of heat so it should be a very good combination 👍 👌
@@Olan... interesting solution you did. In the Featherlight 700 case I can say that the output of the trangia is too high. It boils quicker but needs much more fuel than the we kojin style stove.
OK I understand but when i said Trangia i didn't mean the regular Trangia alcohol burner i meant the silver gel burner pot but with some felt inside to make it spill proof and you can use the lid to put out the flame although you have to use all the fuel that you pour because the gel burner pot isn't a good seal when the lid is on.@@StripeyHatGuy
Stunning stove option and I’d love to own one. Congratulations on your product. As a freelance designer I know the hard work and research it takes to get a product fully realised and ready for the market. 🎉🎉

Excellent 👌 many successful businesses have come about this way ... " I can't find what I want as nobody makes it !" Whereas most of us just accept and look for an alternative , the successful ones have the gumption to say "right I will make (get it made) it myself " , and knowing that there must be other people seeking the same. Hi Stripey, I have a Vesuv cone and it’s really efficient but the press stud fastening deforms the material on opening! I’ve made a few myself out of 0.1mm titanium but neat cutting is not really possible. Since the Stormin comes can no longer be obtained and the Caldera items have to come from the USA I’d have thought there’ll be a big market for it in the uk. Are you also going to produce a puck burner to go with it? I use my vesuv with a 600ml Evernew pan, so when your production is up and running you can put me down for an order! Great Stuff Thanks.
Thanks a lot Nick! Yes I will provide the stove with it for the highest efficiency possible - I will explain how and why this is the case in a later video closer to the start of kickstarter but in short the whole cone layout is calculated and for a reduction of variables I used the ‘stove’ surface and height as fixed. (I have a video on the stove on my channel). This is also the reason why the FeatherLight 700 has its highest efficiency with the Toaks 700 pot.
