The thing I really like about this sort of dancing is that the young people do it and don’t laugh at the old people who like to do it and the boys do it and no one calls them sissies

I gave a paper at Morehead about 20 years ago; it was a lovely campus, but there was nothing as neat as this festival going on!
Unfortunately the Morehead Old Time Music Festival shut down a few years ago. But Morehead State University has a few programs related to old time and traditional music.
@@DavidSlone So does ETSU, where I was teaching at the time; it's where I developed my taste for buck-dancing. Sorry to hear that the Festival has shut down.

I love "ol' timey" music. If you want something very similar, check out Afrikaner "boeremusiek" - it's a similar style, but the pace is more leisurely and the fiddle is swapped for an accordion.
Forget the gym this is the best way to keep fit and supple. Northern soul is very similar but with a different soundtrack and some break dancing moves from the show offs.
