she was great, but I was more wowed by the expressive dance by the previous dancer 2:16 those rapidly alternating left and right back swings were awesome. both great, just different.
Heck, im in NYC all my life but this is what makes my country great. Stay strong down there. My city and her way of life has been murdered. Keep this alive for all of US(A)!
Sounds like everyone in the audience is having a fantastic time, why wouldn't they, all the dancers were absolutely amazing greeting from Scotland 🏴
the lady from 2:38 is just awesome, and this music /if I'm not mistaken Orange Blossom Special / is a masterpiece! and they say Americans have no culture...😂 a very big like from Hungary! 👍♥️
YESSSSS LORD!!!! That's Tennessee!!! Some of these folks move like lightening!!! I just moved from Robinson County to the Northeast, but Tennessee is ALWAYS in my heart!
I had to revisit this video. Ladies and gentlemen, this is serious dancing here. But the three ladies in the middle took this mess to a HIGHER LEVEL!!! Man!!! That is some SERIOUS DANCING right there!!!❤
Einen herzlichen Gruß aus Deutschland ( Germany ). Habe dieses Video durch Zufall gefunden und muss sagen: All dancers are very good and it looks very well. I wish all good luck for the future.
I just watched it for the first time tonight and I couldn't help but crack a smile. It makes me proud to be a Tennessean born and raised. There's so much great culture and clogging is definitely one of my favorite aspects.
dancer three brought tears to my eyes, and dancer four made me cry and laugh out loud at the same time. They are AWESOME! I have got to learn how to do this!!! I feel it in my bones!
hope to see 2008 up soon. The older ones sure show those 2 younger how its done. Great to see it passed down. I also watch it everyday, never get tired of it.
Just WOW! I'm from NM and we don't have dancing like that but we do have Native Pueblo dancers and we host the Annual Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque. Love this though!
Thank you so much for this video!!!!!! Talk about some footwork and fancy moves...OMG! I LOVE IT! Great food, great fishing, some great people, and some great dancing in Clarksville, TN Had to watch this video several times!!!!
The lady before the last guy who danced - WOW! So light. She starts to shuffle dance, I can picture her clearing the floor at a rave. All the dancers were great. I wish I had this sort of community in my life. I have two little girls, I have to find a way to plug them into something like this.
Well I was just standin there when all a sudden... my legs and feet took off... probably been through your town a dozen times.. never knew you could have fun there..
I never get tired of watching this. I'm from Louisiana so we don't see this kinda dancing. I've been a fan of it though since I was about 13. First saw it on tv on TNN on an bluegrass show called "Fire on the Mountian" Anyway, its great to see the dancing being kept alive. I'm disabled so I can't dance myself but, LOVE to watch. Wish more dancers would post on youtube.
Reminds me of when I was stationed at Ft Campbell back in the late 70's. I use to go to "The Blue Grass Manufacturing Company" every weekend, that's only time it was open. I'd get a few beers in me and my feet would get going and the next thing I knew I was being told to calm down and sit down. Dancing wasn't allowed. Didn't matter. It was still a good time every time.
Hey, I remember the Blue Grass Manufacturing Company very well...drank a few pitchers and patted my foot GREAT MUSIC....Great reliving that memory. Thanks for the visit and comment!
Showed up in my feed today. I've lived in Clarksville for 20 years (well 8 of those on post) and never knew we had that here!! Amazing to come full circle...sorta. 😁
I've had this on my favorites list for a few years now. It always reminds me of the natural progression of a dancing family... willing to dance as a toddler, progressing quickly, getting more precise with age. A very kewl video.
fascinating, i stumbled upon clog dancing today as i've never seen it before and must say it's hypnotic and beautiful. nice to see there are parts of the US retaining it's culture and not being homogenized.
The origins of this type of dancing had to of come from their Irish ancestors many generations ago. The dancing steps remain, the difference is the lack of arms held at their sides and the addition of incredible leg & feet moves!
This is what America is ❤️ so much For. I Love Watching this every morning. I Love ❤️ my Country and the 🪕 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸I rather watch this than American Bandstand
Honesdale, PA I was there at this 2007 contest. I loved it!!!!! I have since gone to one other event when my visit to Clarksville coincided with the contest date !

Black pant lady at 2:37 - 3:20 is truly a master.
You ain't kidding. She was laying down leather old-school style!
The economy of motion, speed, precision - great stuff
Her legs fly while her body remains still!
Yes
she was great, but I was more wowed by the expressive dance by the previous dancer 2:16 those rapidly alternating left and right back swings were awesome. both great, just different.
I'm in Australia and my mostly Irish 3rd generation DNA is telling me to start moving and gliding . Such rich heritage that we grew up without .

Absolutely! I remember my Irish father and his sisters dancing like this at parties we had up in the country - fun times!
I break into it sometimes without realising it. Aussie here with Irish roots 🌵💗🍀
@@MsZoedog66 this would most likely come from english /welsh clogdance. maybe scottish stepdance. irish dance is fairly young.
Seeing the youngsters burning so much energy must keep them out of trouble. Loved the whole video. Thanks for sharing.

This made me happy
Everyone did a great job but that last lady did it right!

Heel Stompin’ fun

When your feet get cold in winter and you think, "I'll just stand on the pot belly stove for a moment".
That is some of the fanciest footwork I've ever seen.
WOW! I would need a really good bra to take clogging lessons!
kacisunset 😂
One of them reinforced orthopedic bras 😉😆
Why?
Woooooooeeeeee!!!!!!!! That looks like fun. Save me a dance!!!
