Pikitup strike

For the past weeks, waste collection in Johannesburg has been disrupted by the Pikitup workers strike. Salary abnormalities and allegations of misconduct against Pikitup's managing director Amanda Nair are some of the grievances put forward by workers. Pikitup says it has implemented its contingency plan for waste collection around Johannesburg amidst reports of intimidation of outsourced workers.
