if you are trying this at home, Do not i repeat DO NOT spray paint on the fans. they have been machined and designed at a certain weight to spin ideally, even a few rice grams of weight could change how they spin and slow them down making them a bit less effective.
So glad to have found a video of the process for the exact same card I have. Now I just have to settle on what color to paint it. Thank you for the tutorial
In the US, warranty void stickers are illegal and unenforceable. In fact the FTC wants you to report the usage of them. So if you use the company's customer support and they deny you, just remember the sage wisdom advice: NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT??
I have been wanting to do this to my ASUS TUF 4090. One thing that you should have mentioned is that doing this violates your warrantee. For this reason I found a second fan shroud fans and backplate on eBay that someone had left over from adding a water block. Thanks for doing this video, it will make my job easier for sure.
For your future self, I highly recommend acrylic spray paint. Dries far quicker, dries smoother, doesn't react as easily to other materials. If I am painting one of my projects it's the only paint I use. I stay as far away from Krylon, Rust-Oleum, and other oil based paints as much as possible. Montana Gold, IronLak, or any other brand acrylic spray paint works far better. I live in a small town and my local Michaels and Hobby Lobby carry either IronLak and or Montana Gold acrylic spray paints. You can also order them online and there are TONS of color choices. Painting a GPU or RAM isn't my thing but yours turned out well. Nice work.
Ty no one local stocks Montana but I might order online, tbh i've been using car spray paint for my recent case projects and its soo nice, dries super fast and it's super durable
@@corpingtons Agreed. Acrylic "spray paint" is a better option for a buck or two more. Almost like you were searching for an argument from a comment 2+ months old.
Alucinante trabajo, quedó muy bonita, yo no pude usar pintura y usé vinilos de colores del EVA-01 en caja de PC y tarjeta gráfica, un saludo desde Toledo, España.
@@turtlehamster2289 what I mean is the parts like the plastic shrouds or the fans, you could buy a kit from the manufacturer after the fact in any color you wanted to match your build. It cost almost nothing to produce plastic pieces and if they charge like $20-$50 and people could match the color of their build and maybe even get creative with multicolored GPU’s.
So cool - the Vendor dont care about us - we can do ourself :) im just seeking for this videos than i will paint my RX5700XT in Pearl White effect color . where did you get thoose stickers? cool... i love white builds - made my first own custom white build in 2010 :) way before anyone could by them .. i was at "milliondollarpc" too.

oh dude thats sick
i wish someone would do a tutorial for the msi expert 4080 super
You could also tape off the logo on the fans instead of removing it i saw someone do it on another video.
it's cleaner to remove tho
Nice tutorial and cool build! Keep up the good stuff! Always good to see tech content from someone that isn't just some white guy with a beard.
😭😭😭 thank youuu
LMFAO you didn't have to

@peachietech usually, not always, car spray paint is lacquer so it should dry fast. Decent selection of colors too.

What are the new temps?
The same when someone paints a tower cooler, just about as good but not quite. Assuming the Fans survived intact, about a degree or three difference
Looks dope should have kept the lettering black tho ngl would have stood out
it looked good
Does this affect the temperature?
From my experience no:)

Can companies just make these parts for sale in different colors…? I mean I feel like they’re missing out on and easy revenue opportunity…
I mean, they sell a white version of this card with a $300 premium for it just being white. In PC lingo, it's called the "white tax"
