Really appreciated your extended showing of the Yeoman Warder. They are all retired warrant officers (sergeant majors) in the British Armed Forces and most live in houses within the Tower. They are all great raconteurs and, whichever takes you on the tour, excellent guides.
True! It is also my understanding that it is of great privilege for the very few retired non commissioned personnel who actually get to be a Yeoman Warder. If you noticed during the Queen's funeral, the Yeomen did walk the procession. These are not just tour guides, but actual retired armed forces personnel, who assist in guarding the Tower, as I understand it. As you probably saw and know, outside of the crown jewels hall stand at LEAST two highly armed, armed forces personnel with automatic weapons. And yes, they can and will spring into action if required as I understand it (please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone!). That is why your Yeomen was loud and proud. They are retired armed forces personnel who know and respect their positions, and are there to help you understand the Tower, and the history of the Tower. Your Yeoman Warder was fantastic! They are all different, and may tell you variations of what they know. What a tour! Highly recommend. And yes, they DO live in quarters on site and are on guard duty at times. That is why your Yeoman was talking about being on duty during the evening, and felt a chill go down his neck near the entry of the Traitor's Gate ... (he stated he did not believe in ghosts). They also have their own pub on site within the walls. I hope your Yeoman showed you that! Cheers, and thanks for all that you do! Also, if I'm wrong, I hope people who are in the know, help correct what I typed ... (-:
Love this!! I wen to London for a week in 2019 with my teen boys and husband. What a trip. We are from Long Island and not far from NYC. NYC is completely different city vibe than London. It’s a great city but nothing compares to London.
This has to be the best travel Channel. Doesn’t matter where you both travel too. It’s by far the most in-depth well documented video!! After years of watching travel shows, this is far more detailed and shows a tourist’s perspective!!! You’re London videos are far superior than any Travel Show We literally have such a high interest in travelling to London now. We probably will now as a stop over on our way to Rome next September Thank you so much!!!! Oh and didn’t realize you’ve already passed us twice on your way to Alaska. We’re in Campbell river Right smack in Discovery passage. Cruise ships pass by us each night!!

I have been so obsessed with the history of England for YEARS! Thank you so much for sharing. I agree with Jason, New York does not interest me in the slightest! My plan is to be in England for about 3-4 weeks and go to all the castles and cathedrals!
Read about my ancestor's cousin Anthony Babington of dethink Manor of Derbyshire. It will bring history to life....and death.ending with his head on a spike on the tower bridge.
If you plan to visit all the castles and cathedrals you'll need several months minimum, there have been over 4 thousand castles in England alone with 800 still having visible remains. If you include historic houses and antiquities such as standing stones or circles then you'll need two lifetimes.
I absolutely love the way you chose to see London, you did everything right, no rushing about, just stopping for pints and sitting down at restaurants. London can be overwhelming, but if you stop rushing and trying to do everything straight away and just stop and look around and take it all it, it can really be quite magical. You can see new cities or old cities but where else can you see a 500yr building almost right next to a new hyper modern glass skyscraper, I just can't get enough of london
Great job 👏 Glad you enjoyed your time here 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸 I must say as a Londoner that has traveled a lot London is still my favourite city. I am nearly 50 years old and have t seen it all!
So glad you had a great time guys. You both seem like really nice people and I hope you were made to feel welcome during your stay. Have a safe onward journey and I hope you make it back some day.
I am born and bred in UK. Went first time this year to The Tower of London for my birthday and loved every minute of it. We arrived at 12 and didn't leave until 4.30. You definitely Need to spend most of the day there. There's a lot of walking especially up old winding staircases, so not so good if you have disabilities. Love your channel and watching you enjoying your visit to the UK.
I’m a Londoner - loved your vids probably the best out there… great editing but your personalities are what make them soo good… looking forward to your return visit! Let us know when you’re here….
I'm so happy you enjoyed your trip to London. I live 2 hrs away on the south coast, and try to get up there as often as possible, it's my favourite city in the whole world. I have lived in Sydney, I love Munich, also several places in France, but it's London for me as the best, so proud of our capital ❤ I hope you make it to Bath, it will "blow your socks off" as they say!! 💖🤪😘🇬🇧🙋♀️
I'm obsessed with your videos. My husband & I were just in the UK & on a British Isles cruise right around the time you both were there. It's been so fun to watch the experience through your eyes & you make me want to get back to London right away! thank you for your fun & informative travel videos. Can't wait to see your future experiences.
Really enjoyed this series. The Tower Bridge is my favorite bridge. You really don't know how big it is until you see it in person, and walk across it. So beautiful. Also enjoyed The Tower of London - so much history. London is a fantastic city, and we also enjoyed our time there actually much more than we expected we would. Would definitely go back. Thanks for sharing. - Coreen
Great video. Very enjoyable. It's impossible to conquer London as there is too much to see and do. My favourite part is slap bang in the middle, that barely anyone goes to. The Legal District, is mostly car free, historic, and beautiful. Full of secrets nooks and beauty.
I stumbled upon your first video on your arrival in London and really enjoyed it. I've watched others but I really enjoyed this one and am so happy that you enjoyed your first visit to London. I'm English but don't live in London but have visited many times. London is fabulous and has loads of famous history which needs a long time to get round. I've never been to the tower of London unfortunately, but your video showed me a bit more than I've seen on some television documentaries. That meal towards the end of this video looked amazing, the chicken looked very good but the steak had me salivating ... yum yum. I hope that you return sometime soon and take in more sights of our capital before trying our many other sights around the UK. xxx
I often walk past the Tower and that's exactly what I always think. What must the city have looked like when it was built? What would all the people that were around then, and in the many centuries since, think about London now and everything that has happened in between? And what will it look like in another 1,000 years? That's why history is so fascinating and you did a great job of capturing it.
A thousand years ago, Norman London looked totally different to Roman London (Londinium) when they left 600 years before that. A completely walled city that had been partly taken down in places and many of the buildings, most in decay by Norman times, so the brick and stone (Roman Concrete as well, broken up) could be used.
Thanks so much! A lot went into your video. Really appreciate your attention to detail. Tower of London is the creepiest place I have ever visited! Looking forward to your next adventure. Hair is hair. You look great!
Just discovered your channel and it is my new binge watch! You are such a nice couple and it warms my heart to hear how much you like my country/ capital city. I grew up about 2-3 miles from the tower and went there regularly when I was a child. Seeing your film it hardly seems possible that at that time was allowed to touch and play with most of the exhibits that are now behind glass. This was true until the early 1970's when someone planted a bomb within the armoury and everything was made more secure.
Don't worry folks, Bath, Brighton (my home) and all the rest will still be here whenever you come back. Thank you so much for all the brilliant videos of your adventures. You now go home with enough stories to bore your friends and family with for years. Thanks again, it's been a great pleasure to have you here..................................the ancient Englishman.
Love your travel videos guys. You do such a great job, are so genuine and make every video entertaining and interesting. So pleased you enjoyed your visit to London and hope you come to visit us again here in the UK soon. I have travelled around the world quite a lot and lived in London for nearly 10 years. My daughter and son-in-law still live there and every time I visit, London still knocks my socks off.
I love it when Americans visit my country. Their enthusiasm is so infectious and you both bring a great deal of this to your video. I suppose London is a great draw to foreigners but it's hardly experiencing English culture, a bit like me visiting Los Angeles or New York. The difference is of course your own Country is multicultural from it's inception and the UK has only been multicultural for about 50 or so years. London, being one of the most cosmopolitan places on earth so I don't think you had a single meal that was truly English including our famous Breakfast which was probably your most obvious omission. Please, please return and do another series, I would highly recommend you toured around Cornwall, The Lake District and Scotland and spent as much time in the rural areas of Britain where most of our culture, food, way of life and indigenous people now reside. happy travels!
20:16 That's such a great point Elisa made, If any of us could still be alive 800 years from now I'm sure our minds would be blown in the changes which would have taken place during 8 centuries!
You're so right, you saw such a tiny amount of London and none of the wonderful places outside London, so I'm very pleased you plan to return. Your videos are very enjoyable and I've subscribed.
What a brilliant vlog! You've taken be to bits of the city where I live where I haven't been before! I like your point that you should have done the boat trip at the beginning - when we go to new locations in Britain we haven't been to before, we do a sightseeing tour on the first day (a lot of places have those sightseeing buses). This has several plus points - you can sit down and have a rest after travelling without wasting time in the hotel room; it helps you get your bearings in an unfamiliar location; and as you say the guide gives you suggestions of where to go
As Dr Johnson once said “when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life, for there is in London, all that life can afford” - I have lived in and worked in “London” all my life and whilst I have been to all the usual and major “tourist attractions”, there are places and museums that I have yet to visit! It is fascinating seeing my home town through “your eyes” and seeing your interest and delight at things we just take for granted because they have “always been there”! I haven’t been to the Tower or climbed inside Tower Bridge for about 30 years, haven’t done a river trip either for the same amount of time and have always lived in a town close to the River and could have easily just jumped on a boat to go to Westminster! I have visited most of the Museums but have never visited the Victoria & Albert (V&A) or the Tate Modern and I haven’t even gone shopping in Harrods Department Store! When you do next visit, try to come to ‘my’ part of England, whilst I live in the County of Kent, it is actually on the borders of Greater London - a 30 minute train time journey - and there is so much to see and do in the County. Greenwich is also a “must visit” (place of my birth!) - the National Maritime Museum, the Observatory, the Royal Naval College, the tea clipper The Cutty Sark, a beautiful park and - most importantly the Meridian Line - home of GMT - Greenwich Mean Time! As Greenwich is on the River Thames, you can get a boat FROM Westminster Pier to Greenwich! Hope you can visit again soon 🙂xx and I will look forward to your next visit here and vids about your travels xx
Really love your vlogs. Great personality’s. Honest reviews with an attitude of joy, positivity and wonder. Keep up the great videos. They tide me over waiting for my adventures.
Glad you enjoyed the town of my birth. I know you did this trip a while ago. I no longer live in England but great to see you bring it to life! Americans often get London/England wrong, but you two have done it justice, looks like you guys fully immersed yourselves in its rich history and culture. Sadly some bad actors would love see our rich culture for better or worse destroyed. Bless you both.
What an absolutely wholesome docu series you have done. Loved it. Glad you like the history. Remember there is way more to the uk than London. You got my sub.
I'm so glad you enjoyed my home town so much. I am very well travelled too, currently residing in SE Asia, and to see your excellently shot videos of London makes me truly homesick. It's been nearly 5 years. I think, maybe, now it's time to go home.
Just loved this video. Your enthusiasm was wonderful and it was a joy to see you have such a good time. Looking forward to your next visit to finish off what you missed. Plus future trips to Bath, Brighton … and don’t forget Wales and Scotland. 👍🏻😀
Wow !...loved your video....I'm born & live in London & after 50 years I still see & learn new things here ...& You highlighted not just amazing history & sights but how great the feeling & atmosphere of the place is ...I even shed a tear of emotion ..when you were watching the sunset x
You guys ate at my favourite London restaurant! the view is second to none and the food is epic. great selection of wine there as well. :) I have loved watching your London adventure, hope to see you come back again soon!
Such a great vid. I normally skip TOL vlogs but you made it so interesting. Thanks for all the hard work editing and your kind words about my home town 👍🇬🇧
Another great blog, I had my 21st birthday party on the Thames (Tems not Tames 😁) something I will never forget. I live in Spain but am going back to London end October, going to take my wife to the Tower of London as she hasn't been. Love your love for London....
Gratifying to see you've been enjoying, and learning about our endlessly fascinating city. I was born here 70 years ago, and having tried 3 times to relocate elsewhere - here I still am, still enjoying the vast variety of life in "the Smoke", as London used to be called. The Tower of London is one of those "must see" places definitely worth the entrance fee. (I think right now America could do with its' own "Traitors Gate" for 45 and his cronies!) Ahem! - The Thames is pronounced "Tems", not "Taims". Sorry, but I just can't help it - my hackles rise every time you say "Taims"! Happy travels, folks.
You're incorrect in your conclusion that I commented on "others politics". I simply made an off-the-cuff, and lighthearted comment about your ex-President. The comment I made may (I suppose), suggest to you what is my own political stance, but I implied nothing about "others". As for what you "think is improper for this channel" - well we're both free to have our own opinions, and really neither are of great importance. Are you perhaps positioning yourself as some sort of moderator? To use a modern idiom, "Geez, lighten up!" (May I add, I've never heard of the UA-cam comments section referred to as, "polite society"!). Wishing you too, a very good day.
Nice to have two such cheerful and appreciative people report on London. May I just very gently advise that Thames is pronounced "tems" but hey, hearing it "tames" just added that authentic American tourist flavour to really ensure I got to look at where I live through a fresh pair of eyes!😏 Glad you enjoyed your time here...
It's why I looked at the comments too. It really does make sense, the way they're pronouncing it (as it's spelt).... but it's 'The Tems' to each and every Brit. They're both really natural, effortless vloggers though....subbed.
I’m a Londoner born and bread and I totally agree with you. I’ve been to many cities across the world and nothing compares to London. It has everything and is truly special.🏴🇬🇧⚔️
Lovely to see and reminds me how magical it is to visit a city one has travelled to before in dreams. I recall being in Venice for the first time almost 30 years ago - at the time I was living in London myself.
Loved your UK videos, and so pleased you had a great time. You both deserved it, you put in some great work. I hope you get to the British Isles again, and good luck on your travels.
Just been there yesterday and had the same type of tour! It seems slightly different though, we were told about two of Henry the 8ths wives far more that died in the Tower of London and I don’t think the two boys were mentioned nor the gun powder plot but it makes sense they change the tour up every now again! Super interesting! Feels so cool to see you guys somewhere that I was yesterday 😊
Great interesting and entertaining video. Just to add, in case you didn't know, that a Royal Air Force pilot, Alan Pollock, on the 5th April 1968 flew a jet fighter between the upper and lower spans of Tower bridge. This was totally unauthorised and it was his way of protesting against the government of the time and their actions on defense cuts and other things.
I work at Tower Bridge and go home from Waterloo Station :) so was nice to see the places I see everyday but from the point of view of where tourists like to go and eat. Will be sure to check out The Chop House. Never been in there. Safe travels. See you on the next one
Should have got the boat in the opposite direction to Greenwich. Some beautiful old naval buildings, Cutty Sark and the observatory with the zero line that Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is taken from. My favourite part of London.
Really enjoyed your London videos. Great tips and pointers for visitors. Took me a few days to get to grips with the underground when I started using it. The river is spelt Thames but pronounced Tems and Big Ben is the largest bell at the top of the Elizabeth tower. Looking forward to your videos on the next visit.
This was another wonderful video. You both do a great job with the narration; alone and together. Every time I watch, you make me want to hop on a plane, or boat and see it for myself.👍🙂
OMG. 21:58 minutes into your amazing video and the view took my breath away. Literally. Oh ya, hello Jason. Guess you can see the reflected view through you wife’s beautiful eyes😉. Glad you had an awesome time.
Have loved watching your London trip.., I’m a country girl from the north of England and I love London but only get there maybe once a year. I’m not sure if you’d be able to get it in the US but there was a great documentary TV series in the UK based at the Tower of London showing the ‘behind the scenes’ life of the Yeoman Warders’ - I think you would really enjoy it

Love the area around Greenwich and especially the pie&mash next to the Cutty Sark....gorgeous,been a few times.
You two are really good to watch, thanks for the video!👍
Really love your vlogs. Great personality’s. Honest reviews with an attitude of joy, positivity and wonder. Keep up the great videos. They tide me over waiting for my adventures.
Absolutely Cool…Thank you so much!
We have so much history, just love London wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, glad you enjoyed it 😊
I love your enthusiasm, positive attitude and appetite.😎
Really enjoyed ur London videos can’t wait to watch your back catalogue .What a great couple could listen to both all day
I’m English but I’ve loved following you around London. Makes me want to be a tourist in my own country.
Thank you for sharing this experience! I've always wanted to visit London! Safe travels.
Loving this series. London is a goal for me! Gotta get there!
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Wish you had another week. Thanks for sharing.😎
The boat trip from Westminster down to Key Gardens is fantastic
What an absolutely wholesome docu series you have done. Loved it. Glad you like the history. Remember there is way more to the uk than London. You got my sub.
Glad you enjoyed your visit 🇬🇧
I'm so glad you enjoyed my City, it is special and you make good UA-cam 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in the UK. Good video. Daniel - UK
I'm so glad you enjoyed my home town so much. I am very well travelled too, currently residing in SE Asia, and to see your excellently shot videos of London makes me truly homesick. It's been nearly 5 years. I think, maybe, now it's time to go home.
I was born in London and spent more than Forty years living there. You guys make me want to go back.
So glad you did the tour! The amount of people I know who have skipped the tour is just crazy to me. The Warders are superb!
Thank You for your visit- There is so much more in our country for you to see. Please come back- You will always be welcome💗
Really lovely videos. I went to super bloom in August and sadly the weather had made it is less bloom and more weeds.
Just loved this video. Your enthusiasm was wonderful and it was a joy to see you have such a good time. Looking forward to your next visit to finish off what you missed. Plus future trips to Bath, Brighton … and don’t forget Wales and Scotland. 👍🏻😀
Been waiting for this! Let me get my popcorn ready.
Wow !...loved your video....I'm born & live in London & after 50 years I still see & learn new things here ...& You highlighted not just amazing history & sights but how great the feeling & atmosphere of the place is ...I even shed a tear of emotion ..when you were watching the sunset x
Great job …really enjoyed your adventure
You guys ate at my favourite London restaurant! the view is second to none and the food is epic. great selection of wine there as well. :) I have loved watching your London adventure, hope to see you come back again soon!
Such a great vid. I normally skip TOL vlogs but you made it so interesting. Thanks for all the hard work editing and your kind words about my home town 👍🇬🇧
Thanks for this!!
Another great blog, I had my 21st birthday party on the Thames (Tems not Tames 😁) something I will never forget. I live in Spain but am going back to London end October, going to take my wife to the Tower of London as she hasn't been. Love your love for London....
Loved seeing the city…..thanks!
LOVE to see the history from around the world, it's great for everyone to see and learn about history.
Enjoyed watching your videos. Glad you enjoyed your visit to London so much.
(I think right now America could do with its' own "Traitors Gate" for 45 and his cronies!)
Ahem! - The Thames is pronounced "Tems", not "Taims". Sorry, but I just can't help it - my hackles rise every time you say "Taims"!
Happy travels, folks.
Got to get your politics in.
In polite society we do not comment on others politics, I think it is improper for this travel channel. Good day!
To use a modern idiom, "Geez, lighten up!"
(May I add, I've never heard of the UA-cam comments section referred to as, "polite society"!).
Wishing you too, a very good day.
Your commentary and obvious interest in the history make your videos a cut above the rest, keep up the good work.
Loved watching your adventures in London. I want to go to London too and visit all these places.
Hope to see you back in the UK soon. Also love the way you pronounce Thames 🙂
Great video, you always seem to be enjoyong yourselves. Informative and enticing, thank you.
Great video 💐🌸💐
Glad you enjoyed your stay guys 💙🤜🤛
Tower Bridge...the world's most beautiful bridge!
Great video, I served in the army with your tour guide John.
Best series of videos ever! Love from NC :)
So happy you enjoyed my city. I always feel blessed to live here. Hope to see you guys back here soon x
Thank you for showing the beefeater explaining the history,I've been before but years ago,and had forgotten most of it..
Just discovered your channel, fabulous content, both very natural and informative.
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks for coming to London.
Please come back soon.
Really enjoyed the London series guys! I live here so is always great to see other people enjoying the city - thanks!
Have loved watching your London trip.., I’m a country girl from the north of England and I love London but only get there maybe once a year. I’m not sure if you’d be able to get it in the US but there was a great documentary TV series in the UK based at the Tower of London showing the ‘behind the scenes’ life of the Yeoman Warders’ - I think you would really enjoy it
Can’t wait to have you both back ❤️
Thank you! I enjoyed this immensely.
