Jingle bells and compliments of the season to you Alex 😀 Smashing vid - planning to get into IABSM in the new year so this is perfect, cheers pal.
(Also…thanks for the recommendation of those illuminated magnifying specs earlier in the year, a pair of which found their way under the tree yesterday morning and are bloody ace 👍)

It is always nice to see some IABSM action. It is too rare on UA-cam.
    Merry Christmas

That was good to watch. Haven't seen much of IABSM, nor have I played it in a while too. May have to look at it once again and maybe even look at collecting some forces for the Far East. Looking forward to seeing more :D

Glad you enjoyed it. There are a ton of IABSM games on my channel, go to the channel home page and find the IABSM playlist to find them.

Hong Kong is in the northern hemisphere. So December is actually winter time for them. Just an fyi.

Good to see the pointer in action. Also thought it was nice of Dean to co-ordinate his nail varnish with the Allied cards! Epic stuff!

Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year :). Great game, and the table looked fantastic. I have the rules and the cards, but am waiting to play IABSM hope to play a solo game over the holidays to get my head around the system :).

Thanks Aled, you too buddy! It's a great game, but does take a little getting used to, but worth it in the end!

Been thinking about altering the deck mechanic; so each player stacks their own deck at the start of the turn, negates tea break card, but means every unit will get to activate in an order as desired by player but they dont know what the opponent will do.
Reduces randomness, increases player agency but keeps a bit of fog of war as it's pre planned before you know how the activations progress, how the turns develop, or what opponent has planned

Personally, I think that removes the friction that comes with the tea break and having to think on your feet when a card comes up you are not expecting.

Good to see some IABSM: I prefer the card activation mechanism over the CoC Dice because the dice always get used for the most important point in the battle at the time, so other units are mostly inactive which does not seem right. (And what are the dice simulating anyway?)

If you watch my videos about the command dice in CoC, you'll see that the dice are used in conjunction with the leaders. If you have them in the right place you will be able to activate most, if not all of your units.

@@StormofSteelWargaming I am very familiar with CoC and find that once most units have been deployed some just sit there although there are enemy in sight just because of the dice. I agree using the dice on leaders as much as possible does kind of represent the leaders driving the battle, but that's mostly senior leaders. JLs can only command their own section and so still seem to get ignored. Ultimately it seems a gamey sort of mechanism to generate decisions for the players rather than the commanders in place. I still play CoC, more so than IABSM, but sometimes it does just not seem quite right. Maybe the new version will address that.
