This is a wonderful interview. You ask really good questions that force him to defend his positions without being antagonistic. Quality, detailed questions, while showing a willingness to listen. This is sorely lacking in our time when we are too certain and introduce dogmatism into medicine.

Thank-you for making this interview. You asked many questions to show a sometimes skeptical point of view. That is refreshing and is at the heart of science. I searched for Dr. Merik and found him on just a few UA-cam videos. Judging from the small number of comments, it appears that the UA-cam censors have shadow banned this content. We need more doctors like yourself and Dr. Merrick who can be courageous to speak freely and scientifically.

I met with my young children’s pediatrician last week. She said that in an effort to control the pandemic, she thinks individual health is taking a back seat to societal needs.

Personally I don't trust Dr's much at all and would rather suffer at home than go to another hospital🥺

I think people often miss the heart of the issue. go back 12 months and what options were people being given? try and use some safe treatments with mixed evidence or go home and wait to see if you become critically ill. its easy to sit back now and say "well the evidence hasn't panned out so you were wrong" its gutless. At least the guy was TRYING to come up with solutions. That's nothing to be embarrassed about.

It might be worth considering how a double-blinded RCT might be worse than observational analysis of front-line critical care doctors? One huge argument might be that a(n) RCT follows a standardized protocol which tries to treat all participants the same (in experimental and control arms), while the practice of modern medicine has made big inroads in looking at individualized medicine as providing better outcomes, including what complementary treatments work best and which doses works best for the individual. In a critical care setting a particular dose of a medicinal product or intervention might work well for one patient and might not for another, or may even contribute to an early death (even if this might be difficult to prove!)
