Love your reaction to this, especially when you heard the line “This ain’t a noose this is a leash and I have news for you, you must obey me!” Just brilliant. This is still one of my all-time favourites of theirs, it’s so powerful, and you’re right Tyler is a word-play genius and Josh a monster on the drums. 💛
When he sings about the windowsill (suicide) ""probably happens at night right"" his music always references mental struggle happening AT NIGHT. You'll notice in so many songs he talks about the torture of night and the redemption of morning. So many songs. ((Look out for that with his music and you'll be like omg right 🙃!!)) He has said in interviews how difficult nighttime is for him. In one interview he said friends loved night cause that's when they go out for fun etc but he didn't understand it as night is hard for him.
You should absolutely listen to Twenty-One Pilots "Neon Gravestones". It's an amazing example of how they use music to confront societal problems, plus it's just a catchy song.
I'm fairly certain Tyler deals with depression and has had suicidal thoughts in the past. Suffice it to say, he's a pained individual that uses music to help others going through mental struggles, and for that he's one of my all time heroes. Also, that All Time Low song that came up at the end, Sleeping In, is a great song!! Not nearly as deep as this song, but a total banger and catchy and feel good.
What a ride this song is, one of my favourites, love it! On your spare time check out the live version at Fox Theater, it just adds to the greatness. Try the amazing and beautiful "Goner" Live at Fox Theater, it´s a both simple in the writing and composition (for TOP standards anyway) and at the same time so powerful and touching. Good vid, cheers.
Great Reaction! This one my favorite video! If you run out of videos, need check out the live performance at Fox Theater of this song! Live concerts are what TOP excell at! Especially Fox Theater concert videos.
Another great reaction! I knew you'd get it! Check the lyrics out to pick up on some of the fast parts. There's a lot to unpack in these songs. And he goes so fast sometimes! We'd love for you to keep going!
You were pretty on with the meaning - I think the main meaning would be that he's holding on to his faith to help get him through You should on your own time react to their live performance of this song at Fox Theater I don't think you've watched them live yet but they're known for their live performances You should do Trees (Live from Fox Theater)
I looked over your playlist and didn’t see if you’ve done 21 Pilots Chlorine. If you have sorry, but if you haven’t you should! And how about the drummer?!?!?!🔥 and BTW thanks for taking the time and effort to make a playlist it’s always sooo helpful! ✌️
Good reaction! Keep going please. I dont see a playlist fir twenty one pilots , can you react to Taxi Cab and A car, A torch, A death both from their self titled album. His early stuff is great
He did an interview in April, and I don't remember what the question was or how it was brought up, but an answer he gave to something was that he counts his steps. Like, he counts them as he walks, and that really fascinated me. I don't know much about OCD, but that sounds like something someone with it might do.

Thanks so much, I think it's really satisfying when you get what the artist is trying to portray, thank you

Lee, I love your reactions. You are so genuine. And your reaction to the noose around the mind / obey me part. That was perfect!
Thanks so much, I appreciate your comment 😃

Yes, I think Tyler has OCD. The rest is hard to know for sure. I don't think there has ever been any official statements.
