Thanks for the video, this "magic weapons" idea is very useful, and the tip to make the eyes "monstrous" is also very useful, but watching carefully, I don't think I'll ever be able to use tip number 11 of making eyes " closed" EFFECTIVELY, I always end up playing the characters in very difficult poses to work with this sort of thing. About your comment if I know any tricks that are worth mentioning, the most I do different from you is to use extra arms and how to place the acid vortex magic on the character's feet, giving a magical smoke effect coming from his or her feet. summoned or something. I changed the position of the large flame spell effect to look like one of my characters is doing a "Falcon Puntch" too, I'm proud of that. I also put several arms inside the same place and made them all hold chains, giving the impression that the character wore several chains in the same hand or that the chains were dividing. Otherwise, it's either not relevant, or very specific, or you must have already seen someone using. It's a selfish request on my part, but could you make a video giving ideas on how to use the new "dyes"? I've seen several people using it in different ways, but I'm not getting satisfactory results, could you explain, even if it's for 1 minute, how can these new dyes be used? And again, thanks for the video, and I hope you get better soon :)
"but could you make a video giving ideas on how to use the new "dyes"?" - I am definitely going to look into them and go into more detail in a future video - yes! Great tips as always. You get so much emotion into your figures, with both posing and details, that they each seem to tell a story just from how they look.
These tutorials are great, very helpful. Recently I made a character who is like a peasant out in the rain with no shelter, I tried the best I could to make him look drenched in rain but it just looked weird especially the hair it looked like rubber
Making rain-soaked characters can be a challenge in HF. It requires a really weird combination of dark colours and low-roughness which can easily make a character look like they're just oiled up spaghetti, I feel your pain Also ty!
Hey my guy, great video! Say, would you mind sharing a mini with me that has some of your unique colors for make up? I struggle with getting those right, I feel.
I plan on making a video in the near future about which colours I generally keep in my library, which will also include a lot of dummy-models where I'll be giving out links in the description and sharing colours I use, so whether you have Pro or not, it should hopefully include what you ask for
Amongst a lot of the HFers I regularly speak to, it's an option they don't even know exists to be edited around with - so from my own experience, yes However between you and me, I also messed up a little with the recording of Tip 4 and 5. Tip 4 was meant to include Face Softness/Palms in one (hence why I said they were both such small tips and put into one), whilst Tip 5 was going to be the special smile-combination on its own, but uh.. I messed up a lil
You can legit just match the numbers and get it spot on, yeah, but for the sake of this video I think I just freestyled it. It depends on what gear/clothing you have, as it can vary, and the significance of clipping is sometimes more visible than others
@@CodenameHawk1225 Yeah the more you start layering arms and extra models and weapons etc the worse it becomes to pose stuff. It's best if you finish the posing before you even get started
I'm honestly not a fan of glitching two characters together. I mean, I can see the appeal, being able to get combinations that are otherwise impossible, but it just looks gross imo (unless you're making a more monstrous character, then its fine).
these are genius i've just started getting into using slightly more advanced stuff (custom colors and posing mainly) and i'll definitely try these

Tip you could use in the next tip video; if you combine the disciple of death mask and the samurai mask you can make a cool looking mask
Hey Derf, I hope you start feeling better, excellent video by the way!

Thankyouthankyou. Can't wait for face customizer and model kitbashing to take it next level
@@Derfholm oh yeah. Those, and fabric textures (hogwarts scarf, anybody?) are really going to lift this to the next level.

@@Derfholm Ah, great. That'd be awesome.
I really really want this too
Just found your channel. Good stuff and very useful
Tip 5 might surprise you!.. because do ppl really not use the softness slider?

Somehow I completely missed the ability to customize glow! That is probably really useful.
I’m fighting Covid right now also. Hope you feel better.
Stay strong Mr. Undoe, it's a mean virus
Was that the ants go marching one by one?😂
When you are combining arms, what is the best trick for easily lining them up? Do you just do ot visually, or do you use the numbers?

@@Derfholm I'm just starting to try multiple arms. I just have to tell myself to slow down. I usually pose the bodies first without clothing or gear.

Going back thru the videos, you going to update with the leg layers ?
Some things yeah, some things not - working on a few updated guides at the moment
gotta subscribe to the guy :)))

how do you show the numbers on the sliders?
It's a Pro only setting you can turn on in the basic settings, cogwheel at bottom left
@@Derfholm aight thanks for the info
