Not usually a wimp, but man, that crowd was way too rough. First time seeing The Strokes, been a huge fan for yeaaaars, yet that crowd in the front managed to completely ruin the entire experience for me. I really really don't get what people enjoy about moshing in 80+ degree weather. Maybe that's just me though... Anyhoo, they were absolutely incredible
I completely agree - my boyfriend's nose started bleeding, unfortunately we just had to get out. Towards the end some of my favorite songs we're being played and I just wish I was at my old spot but where I was for sure a lot more comfortable.
yeah, i was on the railing near the front, i can see myself in this video, i have glasses and gray denim shirt but before i got to the barricade i was pushed everywhere until i started pushing back so i can keep my spot, that was my first time being in a crowd like that and it was pretty bad until i got to the barricade. people shoving and pushing like that in that weather was so bad too, my clothes and myself were drenched and it was barely even my sweat, it was gross. it doesnt look bad in these videos but it was sooo bad
Same, I was in the front row, and was completely crushed during the show which really distracted and made it a lot less fun for me, I literally thought I was gonna die at one point haha. I had bruises and even cuts from the show. The thing about it was that a lot of people were trying to get to the front. But it was such an experience and totally worth it, we saw the strokes!
+Simona Roca I don't think it has anything to do with the 80º weather and I don't think the entire crowd collectively decided, "hey, let's mosh, but let's mosh rough. Not like Cannibal Corpse rough, but like pretty rough." If moshing is what in 95% of the crowd's eyes, the music called for, then that's what the crowd is going to do, especially if they payed a ton of money to be there. I was stuck by the side of the sound tent because my girlfriend didn't want to go near the moshers, but I wanted to lose my shit and jump on top of the crowd the whole time because live, their music was actually a lot heavier than I expected because I too, was expecting a calm crowd. I saw Death From Above 1979 at Riot Fest in Toronto a little while back, and what I expected to be a bunch of stereotypical hipsters drinking beers, talking amongst each other and ignoring the band turned out to be a mixture of metalheads and hardcore kids destroying eachother in the pit. Opposite goes for Wintersleep, where I expected people jumping around and singing along, but the venue was packed full with the drunkest hipsters I'd ever seen in my life, standing silently in one place, swaying like trees in the wind. The moral is, the crowd is like weather. You can expect a sunny day, but encounter a thunderstorm!

I was also there but more towards the left and I felt the exact same way. The crowd was way too rough and it definitely took away from the experience.
