Our fave is Wynn/Encore, but we actually don't mind Excalibur when we want a 'cheap' trip. Just as long as you know what you are expecting, it's fine. I actually am starting to miss the 'themed' resorts. Circa / Resorts World is 'pretty' but just so corporate. Don't go back to the family theme, but would be nice to bring more 'fun' to some of the new hotels.

I loved it as a kid in the 80-90’s and tournament of kings is always fun, especially with the hot guys with no shirts on! Fun for the kids and a little eye candy for mama! 😂
I travelled from Australia in November and stayed at Excalibur. It was cheap for a week long trip and to be honest - I enjoyed it and would absolutely stay again.
It’s not luxury but it’s absolutely fine.
Staff were friendly, the gambling atmosphere fun and loved the MGM mobile check in 🎉

We stayed during the summer a few years ago and nothing but goods things to say. Pool area was busy plus the separate adult pool was a nice surprise. The "lounge" had two killer live bands back to back nights. We explored the strip a lot that trip but the Excalibur was just fine for us.
No problems here. It’s not gonna be our first choice but we had a lot of fun
I miss the whole theme based hotel/casino's. Vegas has gradually moved away from them 😢. Good thorough review of the property guys. Stayed at Excalibur many time in my financially limited youth 😂
I honestly hope they never take Excalibur away, such a staple of the landscape of the strip.

Going again in March will be the 4th time we stayed here. It's a clean bed. Nice location. Definitely not high end but comfortable

Great review! You are the first to ever convince me to stay at Excalibur! It actually is a special place for me as I first saw it back in 1993 and it was a big deal back then. I think I went there back then as I have a dollar coin from there but I don’t remember going inside.
Thanks so much Matt. I think the key is just knowing that you are not getting a fancy room like at a Wynn, Cosmo or Aria. Location is good, Casino is fun, and our room was clean, all around not a lot to complain about from our experience

I stayed there only once, back in the late 90s with my little sister before I got married. It looks like nothing’s changed😞! And I definitely agree, a cheaper basic room is ok if you’re only going to take showers and sleep in there! Btw, thanks for another informative video! Happy new year to you both🥰!

We stayed there for several nights on one of our trips and honestly didn’t have a problem with the room. The casino is pretty fun and it’s definitely a place to stay on a budget. I don’t know if I’d stay again, just because we liked Luxor better.
I would have to agree with ya. If I’m looking in that price range and area on the strip I would do my best to get to Luxor or Park MGM personally

Your video and review are spot on. Stayed at Excalibur many times with the family and it is prob one of the best value in Vegas in terms of the room, buffet, and location. The arcade was fun for the kids when they were younger but very little interest as teens. Always wanted to see the tournaments so maybe on the next visit. Thanks.

Thanks so much for this honest review. Excalibur has always been a bucket list stay for me just for the schmaltz of it all since I'm involved in Medieval history, and I figure eventually it'll get torn down and another mega casino resort will take its place, so I'm taking advantage of a trip this year to stay there for a couple of days. A lot of other reviews are unduly harsh, but yours was fair and honest, so thanks! I'm looking forward to my stay now!

Watched your vlog so I subscribed as it was very good. I do like the theme hotels. I have never stayed there but before turning into the mid 60's range I would walk down and played in the casino. They would always let me play, never won big and never lost big. Food court is one of the best in Vegas and was surprised the buffet reopened after the pandemic as most never reopened. All I need is a clean room, good slots and sports book and I'm set. I am comped with Caesar's but most of the property's are charging a fee to sit in the sports book to watch the games on weekends. I usually stay at Flamingo but will definatly check out Excaliber soon. Thanks and all the best!! 👍

We appreciate that not every hotel is just "Modern Luxury" and also understand that not everyone can afford staying at places like Cosmo and Wynn. I think Las Vegas is a better place with budget friendly and family friendly spots like Excalibur. Will we ever stay there again - probably not, but do appreciate it.
When the Westward Ho was closed in 2005, we had to find a new "go to" for Las Vegas. After staying off strip a few times, we got a good deal at Excalibur and thought we had finally hit the big time! Now we prefer Luxor but will go with whomever will give us the best comps.
I would chose Luxor as well to stay at, but for us we actually prefer Park MGM over both and get similar free comp offers. Thank you

Thank you for the details on the quality of the room. My parents wanted to find the CHEAPEST rooms that I could find for them. The Vegas official site showed Excalibur for $17 a night and with resort fees and taxes - ended up just being shy of $60. My parents won’t get luxury and they shouldn’t expect it at that price haha. You get what you pay for lol.
It's true and Vegas does need places at the price point to help get more there we figure. Thanks for sharing!
We all been there - lol. So now it’s the scary dirty castle - lol. (the screaming toilet) However, if you short of funds and your craving Las Vegas trip, Excalibur is the place to go. We went there one year and the total cost for 7 days, including airfare from Canada, only cost use $1100. The buffet at that time was reasonable and decent. I also did well on the slots. So, overall , its livable. Thank you Josh and Rachel for sharing 😊
That's awesome. Vegas certainly needs lower priced places like the Excalibur to be open for all, and we are glad it is there, I can't say I can get Rachael to ever stay there again, but at least now we can say we did it together.

Many many thanks for your honest review. My guy friend, and I are planning to stay at that hotel; since we're trying to find a reasonable hotel to stay for a couple of days. We're mostly gonna do some sight seeing, and eat eat eat lol. The buffet looks yummy

I HAVE STAYED HERE MANY OF TIMES AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ROOMS. EXCALIBUR HAS MY FAVORITE FOOD COURT 😋. I DIDN'T MIND STAYING HERE BECAUSE WE SPENT MOST OF THE TIME OUT OF THE ROOM ANY WAY. Stumble on to your channel. Saw the video Not what we expected for Excalibur. I was going to rip you guys if you were going to do a negative review. But you said it was a okay place. I stay last time I was there and found it it to be a nice place. Like you guys find that south end of the strip is a good spot. I have stay at New York New York couple of times and I also seem to go to the Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay went i stay on that end of strip.

😱 Excalibur 😱 Staying at Delano for four nights starting Thursday but some have said Excalibur casino was fair play. Thinking about taking the tram. Thank you for the review, won’t be staying there. Thank you recording the food court, noticed Hot dog on a stick! Lol 😂
The food court is actually nice to see in Vegas where it is often hard to find a quick bite for cheap. Don’t recommend staying th there but that casino floor is one of our faves 😂
They put you in a better room than I was put in. Mine was sketchy, but it was comped so maybe that's why. Thank you for this video!!
This one was comp’d as well but somewhere between a suite and a basic room comp. Guess we lost enough money for an upgrade

Haha we are here to help! Figuring out how to get from the casino to Luxor can definitely be a pain in the butt if you don’t realize you have to go up the stairs
I stayed there 2 years ago I stayed at Paris last year I'm coming back to Excalibur its cheaper but over all more fun bright fun to be at

so well explained about this hotel i never have a problem staying here so many people hate on this hotel but hey have they been in flamingo or harrahs lately they are dirty empty casinos its like ceasars have given up on them but excalibur casino and food spots are clean and comfortable the only small thing i felt last time i stayed was the kids here but i feel the week i was in vegas there was some girls basketball thing going on and they were all here otherwise it wont stop me from staying in future

As much of a high end steakhouse snob I can be, I love finding great lil' nuggets in food courts. (Halal Guys at CP) I forgot there's a Schlotzskys there! Great sandwiches for when you want a *sandwich*, not a grinder (hero, sub, etc). Fab review as usual!

I've never had a bad room at excalibur stayed in all the types of rooms since 2002. Always clean. NIcest housekeeping fast and rooms are always stocked and cleaned well. The check in agents were are always friendly. MY bosses came with me on one trip They had comp nights at excalibur for 2 nights out of the 3 they got in late from frontier delay. The agent upgraded to the room you guys had but in the resort tower. They loved it was very clean as well. Just like u said some nicks here and there on furniture. The pool is a lot of fun lots of space lots of chairs shade and sunny areas. There is an adult only pool u gotta pay for it use to be 10bucks. The food though use to be way better they had a great cafe the sherwood forest cafe. They had a really good sir gallahands prime rib house. Both places so nice and medieval themed. The camelot steakhouse is so good great service. The lobby bar and sherwood bar has nice servers. The octane lounge upstairs not so much had rude servers twice. The casino is so much fun and have won there few times over the years. IF they just did an easy remodel that kept the medieval them but modernized it both the rooms halls and casino it be a much better place. They do need new ventilation system it is very smokey and they over power the air fragrance to cover it up. Which makes it worse. One time years ago i walked in walked out my eyes were burning from the combo of the two. Mgm though just seems like they dont care its there like when they had circus circus do nothing to improve these properties.

We really like Excalibur. My husband and I drive 5 hours from Central CA and use our Mlife comped room. Excalibur always has rooms available. We do prefer other casinos because they are newer but Excalibur is fine for us. We enjoy the casino and have won a few times, we like the pool and we enjoy the buffet for breakfast, it is very convenient. I also feel like it adds a lot to the strip with it's castle theme. The only complaint I have is that we have never gotten a good room view. The last room we got had a full view of the ac. Oh well.
Oh no never good with the AC view. Knowing what you are going into is key to staying at Excalibur I think for sure. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences
If you pay maybe $5 extra you can get the "Strip View" which is nice

Thanks for the honest Excalibur intel! Did you find any hidden gems that most tourists miss, or was it all predictable jousting and slots? And for someone seeking a unique Vegas experience, would you say Excalibur offers adventure beyond the usual glitz?
Thank you. Not a lot of hidden gems from our standpoint other than we enjoy the casino floor. Unfortunately even though it is shaped like a castle it seems that many of these over the top themed hotels don’t get kept up on the theme and more tend to scale back over time, even the most outside is dry now

I stayed at the Excalibur my very first trip to Vegas, about 1992 I think. I won $900 at a slot. I had a ton fun on that trip. Don't think I would stay there again though, My wife and I stay at the Wynn or Venetian now and are used to that kind of luxury. It is interesting to see it again, it looks pretty much now like it did then. thanks.
Haha yea this was purely for “science” we head back to Encore next month thankfully
We stayed at Excalibur in 2009, and the rooms were dated back then. However, the public areas have seen a facelift since then. The food options were much more limited, and we would get McDonald's to go each morning and eat it in the room.
McDonalds Breakfast is probably what I would opt for 95% of the time if they were easy to get to without much walk so sounds good to me. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve stayed at the dirty castle a handful of times. Can’t say I experienced a squealing toilet 🤣 spot on review. Budget friendly yet amenity lacking. I say we find investors and turn it into a wrestling themed property 🤘🏼

Thanks so much - they are actually really cheap from Zenni Optical online! First pair I got were under $20 delivered, I did upgrade the lenses after liking them, but still probably around $50 with some extras.

I stayed there over 20 yrs ago when I was dirt poor.. even then, it was not for me… My go to hotels are now Nomad ( Grande Suite) and Wynn Tower Suites.
Nomad and Wynn will be our top choices when we finish off the MGM portfolio of properties this summer for sure. Right there with ya. Got Encore for a few nights on our next trip to help us feel good again. 😂

I like the Excalibur casino, yes, the rooms are dated but for me that doesn't matter too much. If the room is clean, there are no bugs, the bed is comfortable, and there's decent water pressure, I am good to go. Now that squealing toilet would have bothered me 🤬.
As far as food choices, right up my alley. I really like their buffet, nothing fancy but it's decent for the price. I actually love their posole, it's very good! The casino has a great selection and I usually win there, so there's that 😉! They have 2 cute shops that I love and usually shop there. I haven't stayed there in a few years since I mainly play at Caesars properties and get comps, but I like to go and play there once in a while.
Thanks Coco, yea we still enjoy playing there when staying on the south end, probably over NYNY, Luxor and MB and definitely over MGM. Good sized and fun.
I think my last stay at Excalibur was in the early 2000s, when price was my top priority for a vacation. Yes, the rooms are basic and dated, but I always had clean rooms, decent beds and pillows, and never had loud parties nearby. Since I live on Kauai, it was nice to have a Dairy Queen in the Fun Dungeon. 😅
Now I can afford much nicer hotels, but it is definitely a good value for families and budget travelers. My main negatives are the oppressive smoke in the casino, lack of a good cafe for breakfast and late night meals, horrible check in process and the timeshare hawkers near the elevators.
Now that NY-NY is renovating all their rooms, that would be the better value, when on a budget.
Thank you Ann, I am interested in possibly checking out NYNY again with the new rooms but was pretty disappointed with our room over a year ago, Excalibur definitely has a spot in the Vegas landscape. Not everyone can stay at Wynn and Cosmo, and it is good for families
@@JoshRachael I had one of the renovated rooms at NY-NY over Thanksgiving. Probably about the quality of a basic Park MGM room, though a little larger. I like the new beds, pillows, storage space and the new decor. The bathroom is basic, still using a shower-tub combo and no separate toilet closet. But for the price, a very good deal.
Okay so I'm going to respond to your coffee segment of the video, I noticed that there is a Krispy Kreme in the food court if they're open in the morning I recommend that if you're just wanting coffee with cream their coffee is much better than Starbucks, also I have lived in the Seattle area since the 90s and I am a coffee snob, Krispy kreme's plain coffee is just better than Starbucks.

Excalibur Gym was one of the best I like. Do you know if they will up grade their rooms now that the property across the street has been sold for a new resort
We haven’t seen any rumors about upgrades to Excalibur but it sure could use some love

Living in Alaska the 24/7 is the norm, price wise. So I didn’t think anything of it until people said it was ‘high’ priced.

Stayed here five times. Rooms are ok en casino is great 🎰💵 Foodcourt lots off choice and location on Strip is fine. Easy walk to other casino’s.

It's also a 33 year old hotel, that has seen hundreds of thousands of guests...there will be rust and scratched furniture
There are a lot of old hotels that don’t have rust, dings, stains and scratches. We didn’t hate on it for this but did Point it out since many will talk bad about a place for it
No wonder I can get comp rooms there for the most nights, but I haven't stayed there in years 🤣. The last time I stayed there, I was on the first floor and close to the pool and spa and had a strip view, so it wasn't too bad. Signature mgm and vdara are my favorite places to stay these days.
Interesting Strip view on the first floor is something I would like to see 😂
@JoshRachael we checked in at a kiosk that gave us the 17th floor. I didn't want to deal with elevator stops, so I walked right over to the concierge to see what low floor they had, and the first floor was the only option, so I took it. An alarm also went off, which turned out to be a false alarm but made me glad to be on the first floor in case of real emergency.

Lol on the toilet...I think you said it wasn't in a great location, and I disagree. Sure, it's not center strip, but it is on a great corner. Just stayed there last week, due to our comped nights and wanting to save some money, and I agree with your assessment as a budget hotel. Don't expect 5 star when you stay here, and you should be fine! Thx for the review.

I think the proximity to a convenient ABC store, CVS or Walgreens is the biggest location issue we have but otherwise we do like the south end of the strip since we are big MGM people. Thanks a lot for sharing Ryan

Only thing neat to me about the Excalibur is that they have an abandoned 70 foot animatronic dragon sitting under the entrance walkway

We agree. By Vegas standards it’s bottom tier but it’s pretty comparable to a lot of basic hometown hotles
our room was full of mold all over the place, we took lots of photos of it, and then told reception, they wouldn't change room, and acted as if they knew rooms had a problem with mold, not staying there again

Excalibur is a great value. With my MGM player's card I can stay for 3 nights for $ 120 (Just pay the Resort Fee)

Excalibur is one of my favorite places to gamble. However you wont catch me staying here. I used to LOVE the smell they would pump in there. Now it smells like sewage!! I cant even be in there for long. Same as the Luxor. Im not sure why they have stopped pumping the smells in.

@@JoshRachael I can’t remember the fragrance that aroma retail used to sell for them. It is no longer an option. I sent them an email asking for the fragrance they used to have for Excalibur.
Okay.. just got word back. They stated they aren’t 100% sure on the smell but they believe it was Asian Garden "floral/vanilla scent"

Excalibur is not meant to be luxury. It is a reasonably priced room on the south end of the Strip. The rooms are good to sleep in, take a shower, and keep your stuff. The food options are cheaper than most places but your options are limited. The buffet is not real good.

Im going to Vegas for the first time in a few months and every review of Excalibur is either "its the worst hotel I've ever seen" or "its fine". All I care about is that its not totally disgusting or noisy. All I need the room for is a place to shower and go to sleep without roaches and bedbugs or crackheads hanging around outside. I'm not going to Las Vegas to sit in a hotel room all week.

Sorry but that room looked disgusting. The quick serve restaurants looked good. Plenty of choices. I have read that MGM was going to tear down both Excalibur and Luxor and replace with one huge mega resort but nothing firm.
Definitely not a room we will ever plan on returning to, and there is a reason we picked a 2 night trip as our Excalibur stay. I am unsure if I believe that they will do the full tear down of Excal and Luxor soon after the Cosmo purchase. Could be cool but i actually hope they replace them with some type of themed property and not just "Modern Luxury" which seems to be the only theme Vegas has nowadays
Ummm no. Pretty sure there are nicer places to stay at for the same or similar price.
Not our first choice by any means and likely won’t be back to stay but there seems to be a place for it with a group of people
