I deliver straight talking, easy to follow, honest, professional, calculated advice to all of my viewers from beginner to tour pro. This tried and tested method of coaching has helped many golfers achieve their personal goals and beyond.
Drop a like on the video, that would be lovely ☺️
Seems like Wilson has not made any effort to send spec clubs to reviewers. Seems crazy to me. You need to do your research if you want to play with the big boys.
Please try the collection of wilson balls particularly the duo soft balls.
@@GregDaMurse Wilson have nothing to prove to anyone. This video hardly proves anything and if anything is click bait. Mr Finch is very clever at making himself look stupid.
I agree with Greg, why send a pro clubs to test that are set for mid h'cappers?
I used the Wilson profile sgi 460 cc 10.5 degree driver. It was forgiving off the face for 2009. With a beautiful red shaft, and it’s a nice club. I literally enjoyed that. It feels good off the club face and it’s going straight. It can hit over 130 yards with this thing. I’ve had one for over a month now. That’s a hell of a golf club. I’m now a long hitter for the first full time this year in my experience playing golf at the golf range loving it! Here I am in Chattanooga watching and enjoying this Wilson vs callaway video! (I’m now a callaway golf kinda guy) thanks for the review! That’s a 10! Old dog does tricks! It’s worth it if this club is over 10 years now. Still hits good today!
Wilson is my favorite brand. C300 Forged are the best irons I've ever used!!! Good work Pete!!
wilson balls are way underrated, the duosoft are great, cheap and the feel is amazing. Wilson is way too underrated
I agree. I used to play the duo soft and I upgraded to the duo professional and it's my favorite ball I've ever played.
100%! Duosoft golf balls are my favorite! $19.99+tax is a steal!!
Wilson chaos are sick
A proud Wilson golfer here
I love the Duo Soft…I’ve tried everything i can buy. I literally hit them better than any other ball.
I have the Wilson D7’s, and I ❤️ them ‼️💯🎯
Wilson is - at this moment - probably THE most underrated brand. My first set was a set of Wilson John Daly. Loved them!
I have a set of Wilson Launchpad irons and absolutely love them. It’s literally like having a toaster on the end of the shaft though 😂
production quality is off the charts. Well done Pete and Co
I’ve just watched your UA-cam video, one of several I’ve watched about the Wilson CB irons and can’t find anyone who isn’t impressed, and only this morning ordered a set, 5 iron through PW, many thanks as you totally reaffirmed my opinion my order and can’t wait to swing my new bats, when allowed back onto the course
I'm buying a whole Wilson set this year, D7 woods and Launch Pad irons
I like this format Pete. Club review with Vlog included makes for more interesting viewing.
Amazing how these companies shoot themselves in the foot over and over again by sending a popular reviewer the wrong spec driver. 10 seconds of research and you can figure out it’s 9° XStiff for virtually everyone on UA-cam
I don’t think Wilson offers an XS shaft on anything. They dont have that option on their website
Folk like you that watch these videos and take anything out them are mugs. I went for a fitting on both these drivers, both had the hzrdus black 6.0 70g. The Wilson was 2 yds longer on average, so effectively nothing in it. Dispersion was marked better with the D9. £150 cheaper.
@@krishepburn1560 Uhhhhh, ok?
Maybe they don't make a 9 degree x stiff
Wilson is affordable while maintaining top notch quality which I appreciate as a below average golfer
@National Christian Constitutionalist Party I agree, I bought the Wilson D300 flex face irons and I absolutely love them. As a high handicapper they really helped me gain distance and accuracy that I was lacking. And I spent about half the price on them compared to a comparable set like the cobra fmax irons
@@athomson652 just out of curiosity what’s your handicap?
Great VLOG Pete. I am using the Wilson D7 irons at the moment. Been playing golf for about a year after a 15 year lay off (while the kids grew up). I always had Wilson irons in my bag when i was a 9 handicap, so decided to go with the D7's and love them
Rocking the Wilson staff V6 irons and lovvin it 👍😁
My first “proper” clubs were Wilson, always had a soft spot for them, I still have a Deep Red 2 3 wood in the bag, always think about replacing it because of the advances in technology but I just like it so much.
Same. Got a set of Staff Di7's that I was fitted for in 2008. I will never sell those clubs. It is a true pity that my father has lost the SW, PW, and 3i.
Just got my Wilson CBs last week... my first forged irons. WOW! Love them... like really love them. Great vid!!
Really like the honesty about the products. Also like the breaks between the match.
I started playing golf with a set of Wilson prostaff many years ago and today I still play Wilson Staff golf clubs, the M3 tour forged now and love the look and feel of them with the more traditional loft but would like to try the D9's to see the distances and forgiveness! Another fantastic review Pete and keep them coming 👍
I'm using Wilson D300 irons after a break from golf. Fantastic clubs aggressive loft but low cg so they fly high and drop on the green on a dime! I just bought the D9 driver and man this thing hits bombs! 300+ all day long straight.
Not a fair comparison really... but nice to have Andy back...
Great video Pete and the numbers were impressive on the monitor. Someone like me who swings mid-upper 90's with driver may have better numbers with the D9 and close that distance gap a little bit. W/S clubs have been a great value for a number of years (both new and on the used market) and seem to fit a lot of mid-high handicaps well. My biggest issue with Wilson is their distribution - they're tough to find on the shelves here in the US. I can walk into stores 10 mins from me and find Ping, Callaway, TM, etc. but no Wilson. If they could get on the shelf in more stores, I think their sales would easily go up.
I'm using a whole bag of Wilson. D9 driver ( which was a replacement for a broken C300). C300 2 Hybrid, Deep Red II 5w. 5-PW V6's, Wilson Staff forged wedges and a Windy City putter. I've dropped 5 shots off my handicap since I made the switch 12 months ago. Went from 15 to 10.
Wilson has really come a long way back. They were awesome back in the 80’s and then kinda went away in the 90’s. Since coming back, they seemed to focus on game improvement clubs. Once they started making a player’s club, and signing Padraig Harrington, they have made huge strides in their designs. Cheers, Pete!
Nay worries Gary thanks for watching
I got my first set of forged irons and I went with the Wilson D7. I absolutely love them. Also, this past week I was looking for a new 5 wood. I did not want to pay 300 dollars. I got the Wilson D7. I love that as well. It feels great and I hit it 10-15 yards further than my 18 degree (Hybrid) and very similar to my 3 wood.
Love my Wilson D7 irons, not sure I’m ready to upgrade yet.
My current driver... Wilson Cortex 10.5 with an Atmos Red Tour Spec 5R shaft.
Just yesterday as part of my personal challenge of trying to gain enough swing speed/distance to reach a Toyota Land Cruiser at my local driving range, I went to one of my local golfmart stores to try out a few drivers. I'm looking to move down in Loft on my driver from 10.5 to 9 with an adjustable shaft trying to get more distance than with my Wilson Cortex. I swung seven different clubs (2 Taylor Made M4, 1 SIM, 2 Cobra f9 Speed Zone, a Ping and a Titlest specifics I don't recall) all with varying Lofts from 9 to 12 but all turned down to as close to 9 as possible. Some regular flex and stiff flex, two of them even longer than my current shaft.
Surprisingly, in the end my Wilson Cortex came out on top of all of them. Unfortunately for the store no sale. Fortunately for me it led me to find another cortex with 9 degrees of Loft. I'll be trying THAT driver head combined with my shaft in 10 days.
LOVE the videos Pete. Keep it up. 👍👍👍
Love to see you test some of the hollow body/CBS irons for higher handicaps:
* Haywood Signature
* P790
* P770
* Rad Speed
* G425
Really appreciate you reviewing some of these "higher handicap" style clubs. I'm still playing a set of Ping Gmax irons, thanks to some reviews you and Rick did on them years ago. While it is great seeing reviews on player's blades, it it nice to have info on clubs I would actually play.
have the wilson f5's, a utility iron, and the wilson infinite bucktown in the bag and I'm in love. Not changing for anything right now.
Wilson irons as of late have been amazing. I've gamed the c300 forged, v6, and fg tour 100s and all have been very very good clubs. The V6 gets most of the attention, but the c300 forged was vastly underrated.
Nice to see Wilson getting a look in
Just picked up some D7 for about 500 canadian. Hope to hit them soon.
Not the best brand but sure can produce some nice looking stuff. Definitely an underrated brand but can be good. Another great vid Pete!
Went from Callaway to Wilson C300 forged last year. Also Wilson Cortex driver and D7 Hybrids.
Always playing, never parcticing. Took my from hcp 13 to hcp 9. The irons are amazing. The cortex driver is incredible. Gave 1500 swedish kr for it. So good. I will always compare more expensive clubs with Wilson.
Currently have the model blades in the bag and they are awesome!
I have a full bag of Wilson clubs. D9 driver ( which was a replacement when my C300 broke), c300 2 hybrid, deep red 2 5 wood, V6 5-pw, 50⁰,56⁰,60⁰ forged wedges and a windy City infinite putter. Absolutely love them and the wife loves the fact they're cheaper.🤣
I’m currently gaming the Wilson Staff Ci9 irons and I love them. I’m eyeballing those new cbs though👀👀
I just got a Launchpad 3 wood (2020) in the mail and I can't wait to try it!
Pete I liked the different way of doing the review. Srixon clubs would be decent next review along with the new Mizuno drivers. Keep the good work going mate. I also enjoyed the podcast the other day.😍😍👏👏
Hi Pete
Great Video. I currently have Wilson D7 irons , D7 Hybrid and 3 Wood and a D300 driver.
We all like new gear and the Wilson range is great quality at a great price.
Looking at a D9 Driver soon.
Had a prostaff hybrid for a bit and asolutely hated it, could not get on with the way it sat and launched. I completely get where Peter was coming from on the hybrid!
Great video Wilson so under rated great products at sensible prices where you don’t have to apply for a mortgage.
Are Wilson golf clubs ACTUALLY any good? yes very good would a youtuber use them definitely not as they not a big brand
I’m a UA-camr... and I’m full Wilson 😬 I’ve been with Wilson for over 2 years and I love them
@@RachMcQueenGolf fair play to you
Rick shields the biggest you tube golfer on the planet used v6 irons for ages, Alex Evans and Steve johnston also use wilson.
@@davidmiller4185 he don't anymore my point and them other 2 nowhere near as big as rick or peter
Love the CBs. Will definitely be considering Wilson for my next set of irons.
Absolutely love Wilson clubs. V6 is one of the best ever made
Great clubs the v6
@@peterfinchgolf the fg 100 tour is straight up golf porn.... if only I was good enough.
Great vid again Pete! I am currently using the V2 irons from Wilson but I am maybe swapping those out for the cb’s this year!
You should btw also try out the staff model blades those are in my opinion one of the best looking irons on the market!
Wilson D7 irons at the moment, great club, helped my game improve so far!
My whole set are basically Wilson Staff. Love my putter (infinite) , irons (D7) and wedges (staff model). Like yourself Pete, the only thing I am unsure on is the woods/driver. But I reckon that is more me than the clubs... I'll just keep practicing rounds and going to the range for that 😂
Might even see about a driver fitting for my 30th this year... 😬⛳ 🏌️♂️
I am playing the D7 Forged irons. Really like them.
You and Rick are tied for my favorite channels on UA-cam. You are really helping me get through these tough times and are helping me improve my game. Keep it up!!! Love your videos.
Cobra f-max super lite irons and also have a Wilson putters and works really well
Always loved Wilson But cant decide on newer models so keep going back to Wilson staff They are the clubs i can rely on
Wilson X-31 were my first set of clubs and I absolutely loved them!! So easy to use. Also had a D7 4 iron which was lovely to hit. Let’s hope people stop paying for the name and appreciate the quality of ‘lesser’ brands a bit more.
Had Wilson Staff goosenecks about 30 years ago -- still one of my best rounds with those clubs
Ping iron player here. G Series 2016. I like Wilson. They are good clubs. I just would have to regret them. I had a wedge from them and a putter but it just didn't work out for me. Maybe a different lineup.
I always smash the Like button on Peter's channel
Love the video, hilarious shout of fore right from you Pete, love the banter!! I have titleist ap2 irons atm, they belonged to a pro so they're probably too good for me, I do OK with them but I probably need more forgiveness!! Not against trying any brand to be fair and I don't have big money for the big brands, liked the d9's although I've never been too keen on the thick/chunky look to an iron, but they seem to give good distance which I need as I'm not a big hitter and they have good forgiveness!!
Is Carter the best golfer on UA-cam? Them wilsons look 👌 😍😍
Wilson Launchpad irons, love them..
As an athletic but novice golfer, would you recommend the D9 or CB Forged? My biggest issue is accuracy and consistency rather than distance.
One of my 1st irons where Wilson augusta blades bad strikes shattered the bones in your hands in winter and I loved them.. They got stolen out of my car when I was about 17 😭😭🤣🤣
In the cupboard I still have a set of Wilson 1200 Bi-metal clubs. Currently using Callaway Razr Tour clubs
Class video as ever mate 👏🏾👍🏾 Really want the Wilson cb's as they look amazing but don't think a 20 handicapper like me would be able to hit them 😂🤦🏾♂️😩
Played FG-17s in the 80s and got down to 7, changed to ping i3 blades years later when not striking it as good, then went to TM Tour Burner, Ping i20s and now use Apex CF16s which are great, still got the Tour Block Driver and 3 wood - they are tiny
Want a new set of irons and seriously considering the D9 range but we shall see
My last set of clubs included 15 year old Wilson deep red driver, 3 & 5 wood set. They served me well
Play the Wilson C300 Forged irons I think they are absolutely fantastic 👍
It is funny how he was swinging at 110mph and it looked like he was restricting himself massively.
What's the secret Pete?!
swings at 110mph, but looked like a slow motion hahahaha..
a bit on the wonk xD.. my first and current iron set (still a noob at golf) is the wilson d200s and they produce some great clubs for the price especially in the high handicap market
So, Andy's bag vs yours .... 1,5 or 2 times more expensive, but score almost same ....
Hasn’t Cleveland already been making this exact idea for a few years non adjustable cheaper claims to be as good as any? I think that would be an interesting comparison
Still using Wilson Deep Red Fat Shaft IV. But have been looking at D7 and D9 to get something newer.
The 7 iron is basically a 5 iron with that loft! But the Cb’s look awesome 👍
Currently playing C300 forged and are a great knock. Swing has improved a lot over last few years so still wishing I'd gone for the V6 irons but I will definitely be trying the CBs when uncle Boris allows us out again!
The difference between these two drivers was Peter Finch. There is 1.4 degrees difference in average AoA favouring the Epic. If you look at the third shot with the Wilson which is still 0.4 below the average AoA for the Epic but is the highest for the Wilson, the drive for that shot off the Wilson flew 268/286, which is just about dead on the average for the Epic. I suspect with equal AoA both drivers would produce the same distance within a yard or two.
i always liked wilson clubs, in fact started learning golf with wilson clubs borrowed from my uncle. i am a high handicapped player, which wilson clubs do you recommend, thanks.
I've played the Wilson V6 Forged irons for about a year and absolutely love them. Have you tried them, and how would they compare to the new CB Staff Model if so?
I absolutly love Wilson Staff irons. I startet with Wilson irons several years ago and this brand is still in my bag. Love the D7 irons and the FG Tour F5 woods. The irons look great, feel great and make the game much easier! Great video again! Thumbs up!!!
That D9 7 iron is the same loft as my Mizuno MP20 5 iron!! 😅
I’m certainly not hating on Wilson though, I have the D9 Driver/3 wood/ 3 hybrid in my bag for last 6 months. I’m certainly not as long as my 9 degree cobra speedzone but I just don’t miss any fairways anymore, I just keep hitting high cuts. I’ve dropped from 12 to 6 handicap since I changed.
No way I’m swapping my Mizunos though.
I would like to have seen you guys switch clubs on the back nine
Peter cracks me up!
Love the video and the layout thanks again
Had a set of Wilson Sam Snead irons when I was a kid, god I'm old 😢
I absolutely love my c300 forged irons, they play great, especially considering the price
Same here!
Ditto. The D7 Forged look very similar but lofts cranked compared to C300 Forged. I feel Wilson need something in there between the new CB’s ant he D7’s. There’s no way you could blend those 2 into a set
Pi 5 was a fantastic iron, not forged but it worked beautifully.
Jesus christ Peter, I'm 100% convinced you were putting better with your scotty, you can't hole a thing with that monstrosity, that putter looks like something used to demolish buildings
The CB’s are amazing, ive just been fit for them.
I currently play cobra fly pro+ blades, would really like to play the wilson cb or srixon 765
Like a wilson iron currently running c200 irons but possibly looking at a upgrade miby mizunos
D200,D250,D300 irons, had all 3,were just as good as any others I had
I’ve had the DI 9 irons for a few years now and I can’t fault them really good irons but I have been toying with upgrading to the more recent Wilson clubs. What do you think
I love Wilson irons. I still have my trusty old X31 Custom Forged set 3-PW. What a magnificent set of irons 🥰
Peter, get rid of the techno putter, or get a lazer sight on it
I am rocking the Wilson staff C300 forged irons. I love them. Very consistent .
I recently bought the D7s irons and I love them (when I'm able to play! 😢).
Thinking of getting the d9 3w and hybrid?
I still use wilson 1200 Ge's, great clubs, I may be moving to these D9's this year.... they are a beauty
should do a vid comparing LAB n scotty
Carter: 2 up in the match !
Petes next sentence: so yea I was quite suprised
pete i think it’s time to put a new putter in the bag, the space ship just isn’t working for you anymore
Ngl the d9 is just a rouge with Wilson stamped on
