    Sometime I wish I had a friend, so I could make cool tandem drift videos & stuff. But then I remember I don’t like other people & would prefer to drift with my cat 😹

      Auranapse my cat is far to majestic to chase a mere RC car. He does however find pleasure watching it slide around 🚗

      add one vote for drift cat, can add it to my mini-z animals playlist (turns out there is a lot more of videos like that than you would think)

      Haha, if I had one there'll be more people to play with too. I only loan my spare car to my friend who doesn't want to invest in Mini Z because the community here is too small and hidden, and they don't drift. :L

    I wish there were local drift meets for mini z users. Races and the winner won like twenty bucks or something, and the rest went to the host. I’m in CT USA

    Welcome. I am the owner of the latest Subaru model with AWD drive from the Kyosho company in the scale 1: 27.52. I want to mount the Front Oneway Unit on the front and Rigid Axle on the back. Should I change anything else to play drift? maybe you have any suggestions

    • @Auranapse
      @Auranapse  4 роки тому +2

      Well the car can drift well already out of the box. After adding the front oneway and rigid axle, the only thing you need is practice :P

    Fabulous video!
    Out of curiosity, what batteries are you guys running? (Or which batteries do you prefer?)

    • @Auranapse
      @Auranapse  4 роки тому +2

      I'm using both the Kyosho Speed House 800HV batteries and the Orion 900HV.

    Nice video! How do you feel the Evo compares to the 02? I'm putting together an Evo build but keep second guessing the cost compared to just going with a MA02 instead. Seems like the Evo is more responsive and balanced?

    • @Auranapse
      @Auranapse  4 роки тому +2

      The EVO does handle better as it has a lower and more balanced CG, slightly forward biased. If you plan to just drift at home, I'd recommend the MA-020 (with the black KT531P controller) instead as it's just much cheaper(readyset) and works really well too. IMO the price difference isn't worth the little bit of handling improvement.
      Also, if you only use the MA-030EVO to drift, the 8500KV tbh is too high a KV to be easy to handle, as higher KV brushless have bad low speed control, and the lowest speed it can spin at is still too fast, which is why in the video you can hear me constantly accelerating and lifting, while on the MA-020 you can just modulate the throttle smoothly(brushed motor). Of course you can still drift it well, and I actually still really like it and prefer the 030 over the 020. Of course, you could replace it with a brushed motor or lower KV motor like the 4100/5600KV for better low speed control only if you have trouble with it.
      If you gonna be racing it or have the cash to spare, I would just straight up recommend the MA-030EVO instead, as it's much faster and better handling both on track and for drifting, and overall a better car with better electronics and better servo.

    • @cptclutch2530
      @cptclutch2530 4 роки тому

      Auranapse Really appreciate the input. It’s a tough call. I think I might just go with the 020 for now and maybe pick up a 030 down the line. If the 030 took 90mm bodies I think I’d go with it but due to the greater support that the 020 has and the much cheaper price it seems like the way to go.
      Do you find swapping batteries on the 030 to be a pain? Seems dumb but the ease of battery swapping on the 020 also seems like a benefit.

    • @Auranapse
      @Auranapse  4 роки тому +1

      @@cptclutch2530 yea, the the 2 batteries on the underside of the 030 are really hard to remove. I put a ribbon underneath that I can pull to remove them easily.
      I started out with the MA-020 too(actually my first hobby grade RC), and it's definitely a good choice. Do get some rechargeable AAA batteries as well.

    • @Auranapse
      @Auranapse  3 роки тому +1

      I was using DS Racing tyres actually. If you want more grip you could try the LF1 or F5. They have the F5, LF1, LF3, LF5, LF5, from most to least grip. Anything after LF3 has less grip than the stock kyosho tyres.
