Exactly. We all know that there is a right way and a wrong way to execute new updates and the fact they still kept the scene with making it less offensive I think is great.
It looks good glad that they didn't remove it entirely. My only complaint is that i wish they would have kept the Chief in there since he's a prominent figure in the movie but i guess i can see why they removed him.
As a symbol of the patriarchy, he didn't stand a chance. 😢 Eventually, even the Hall of Presidents will be eliminated, I fear.
I love when Tiger Lily dances in the movie and Wendy gets jealous. I love Peter Pan!
I find it hilarious how this was literally the only change that came out of this “refurbishment”, yet several key features are still either not working properly or are just outright broken.
Right? i kinda wish they added Peter and the Darlings in the neverland scenes. Like peter and Wendy with the mermaids and John and Micheal with the lost boys? That would be cool!

While Tokyo, Paris & Shanghai can keep their Tiger Lily as is, I feel like Anaheim will most likely do the same as Magic Kingdom in their next refurbishment

@@jimtowngirl18we literally just had a D23 panel where they announced upcoming attractions to the Disney parks and there was nothing regarding this. I wouldn’t even call it a credible rumor.
They did a good job a recreating the old style of moving figures for the updated scene
Now that is a good update. The movement, dancing and drumming, is great and relevant.

Change was fine. Frankly I was more tuned in on how bright and colorful the paint was. Looks like they repainted everything. Beautiful.
That is waaay more culturally correct and makes me even more proud of the heritage I come from ❤

This is the first time that scene made me smile. It reminds me of when I was learning our dances and drumming, well done 😊
I'm fine with it. While not everyone I knew who was Native American was offended, some were.
Better than Disney removing it and pretending the scene never existed imo. Similar to people who argue cutting out scenes in movies vs. historical preservation.
It still exists in the movie, so updating supplemental products is fine to me. I think erasure is where I would have an issue. With this update, I do like how they didn't try to just remove the facial characteristics. Either they don't look like they took generic faces. They still kept prominent facial features while toning down how far the animation went.
I especially like how Llily has a more active scene now, like the animation rather than just sitting. Imo this is how you do a update for sensitivity while also plusing the attraction in some way
Tiger Lily is doing the women’s fancy shawl dance. You’ll see it at powwow dance competitions. A lovely addition
I NEED someone to agree with me that I hear the faint audio of the haunted mansion graveyard crow “caw caw” through the whole ride starting at 4:34!

As a person of now called indigenous descent, as much as I liked the scene before I think I like I better now since the tribe seems to be a bigger part of the ride. Good job Disney.

The one in Disneyland is so much better I wish they would integrate those effects into this one
A perfect plussing of the ride. Simply put, it's gone from an outdated caricature of Native Americans to an authentic celebration of Native Americans. It's elevated the scene too, with beautiful new figures and more movement.
This is a nice update. Many were speculating that they were going to get rid of the Natives altogether. I’m happy to see that they kept them and focused on the music and dancing of their culture instead!

I saw a picture of it on Facebook somewhere. It's just instead of the red natives sitting there, tiger Lilly is running around with I assume her mother and the other tripe sitting there with a different skin tone

I’d have to say that this change is agreeable
Except for Tiger Lilly, they replaced them with characters that aren't even in the movie. No, I'd rather have a different scene than something that's not part of the film. Better still, leave it alone. For nearly 70 years, it's been a fan favorite.

I think this is something everyone can get behind. The american indians can stay in the ride but don't look as cartoonishly red as before. Good change.

Peter Pan Flight keeps Changing with New scenes

When I first heard of the change Disney was going to make with Peter Pans Flight that a certain culture group found offensive and racist I was PISSED, but now seeing the refurbishment change I like the change that Disney kept the scene in the attraction. It was a good change and more colorful to keep with the original movie.

I think the update looks great! It wasn’t terrible before, people made it a thing, but I’d rather they change it up than completely remove them like they seem to do which makes zero sense

I have only been on the ride in Paris but loved the queue line in Disney World on your video. Will definitely ride next year on my next visit. Love the new scene. Well done Disney. Will it change in Paris too?

@@TayWoode I am an Annual pass holder for Disneyland Paris so go quite a bit. Like Disney World, Peter Pan has one of the longest queue lines. It’s a beautiful ride but too short I feel. Wish it was longer
@@lauramaguire5152 ah right, I just asked coz I worked there for seven years albeit a long time ago, I went back for the 30th anniversary in 2022 since we all keep in contact with each other and i still know people there, they won’t change Peter Pan just yet, it just had the london scene repainted too make it brighter, Europeans aren’t as sensitive as Americans who get too offended, same with Snow White, they changed the American version as it was supposedly too scary which I loved as a kid but they’re leaving the Paris version,The changes I noticed was Thunder mountain with the explosion on the last part and phantom manor has brought back Vincent Price’s voice in the stretch room and star tours now has different combinations of film in 3D when it used to be the same
@@TayWoode That’s so interesting, thanks for letting me know. I was there the last evening of the 30th. It was very emotional when the drones spelled out thank you in many different languages. Phantom Manor is my favourite ride. Disneyland Paris is my happy place . How amazing you worked there. I always think cast members are a big part of the Disney experience. I have had some great interactions over the years . Maybe we met, who knows 😁
@@lauramaguire5152 yes! Phantom manor is my favourite too! I love the music how it all blends perfectly in every scene. Are you living nearby then? I lived 10 mins away in accommodation for cast members. You could hear the screams from Thunder mountain from my balcony and the fireworks 😂
I did see someone from school when I was working on Thunder mountain which was very surreal. We used to all do cross training on different attractions so I did all Discoveryland, fantasyland except it’s a small world and I was Pluto for a while 😂

Hopefully this will keep the Americans quiet for a few years until Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo or Shanghai get a better update or a completely new attraction and once again there’ll be cries of “Why haven’t we got this in the US?” like on every video of an attraction not in America

Ironically they're not really native Americans, since they weren't in America. They're Native Neverlandians, and apparently there's people that know of these magical beings from Neverland personally and it upset them to know that their imaginary Native Neverlandian friends were being misrepresented.

True, but also they were inspired by the native Americans seemingly, so I think that's where all this stems from. From what I can tell, it's been received quite well.
When I got to Orlando about last month the ride was closed for refurbishing and we were unable to get in.
The old guy looks either stoned or "a bit slow" but he's rather poor quality. The rest look good except their height looks like its wrong compared to the other animatronics in the ride; maybe it's just the forced perspective from the flying ship.
I kind of have a problem on how the characters except Tiger Lily look like they’re from an entirely different film, let alone one relating to Peter Pan, like who is this old grandma dancing with Tiger Lily and why is she here? We don’t even know who she is.

The Florida version has always sounded like this. Disneyland has better audio with more songs featured and more dialogue.
That does not look like Tiger Lily, the face is slightly different and Her costume is way off. I feel like it should match the one in the movie , I think they should just left it alone and didn’t mess with it, if people get offended by crazy things like don’t come to Disney, they also should have kept the chief in the ride because he’s a prominent character in the movie

The design and action of the characters in the Indian village. The idea was to make them look more authentically like Native Americans rather than stereotypes.
i adore this update, love how realistic the tribe looks and it's no longer a vilified caricature of them. bravo disney
They weren't villains in the movie. It's not like they were ever playing their song here and that was the worst part. Also, all cartoons are exaggerated caricatures. That's kind of the point of being a cartoon.

I don't understand. What was wrong, if anything, with the original. They both seem about the same.
The red skin tone for the natives is racist, so they made them more of what a natural native would look like

Funny thing, when I was a kid, i thought they were angry because they were red.

It's not like they were ever singing the song. Changing that i get, but this? All they were doing was sitting around a campfire before.
People are aware that this is from a work of fiction, right? A fairly dark one as well.
I was expecting the ride to go longer, and the tribe would be completed with a baby Native American girl animatronic.

A UA-camr called StormwindAdventures did a short side by side video. Got like no views. Worth checking out. My take is WHY?
Why this dated crap has hour+ long waits every day I'll never know. The whole thing needs ripping out and replaced in the much more modern style of Shanghai Disneyland's version or the new Fantasy Springs Peter Pan ride at Tokyo Disney. The new figures stand out like a sore thumb in that they are not in the same artistic style and their movements are too fluid compared to that of the rest. Just start again from scratch.
