I keep hearing the chime from Yeesha's necklace from Revelations even though we don't have that in this game. I guess they just reused that audio resource as an ambient sound effect.
wanting to take a moment to thank you for doing a myst letsplay series. im not very good at puzzles but the myst series has always been something ive been drawn to. nice to finally see what the other games are all about
I have not been as frustrated at a video as I have been at this one for the longest time. I was half-yelling at my screen for you to 'PUT THE TABLET DOWN!"
@@KeithBallardA Never used a symbol except for the other couple of times when you drew a symbol, dropped the tablet, and saw a Bahro pick it up and do something related to the symbol, like putting it on the matching pedestal. :) After previously hearing Esher in Direbo tell you to draw on the tablet and drop it to make the Bahro respond to the command. And after hearing Esher in this video telling you that you needed heat and "they" could be made to bring it. I wonder what a circle with rays coming out of it could represent to the Bahro? A sun -- a source of heat -- perhaps? You are truly amazing at working these things out quickly, but you really seem to have done it here more by intuition than by logically connecting some pretty obvious dots.
I can't help but wonder if having subtitles on earlier, like when Esher was describing the actual mechanics of the tablet, would have made it easier to tell what you're supposed to do. Because, of course, the way the tablet works is super unintuitive, so they had to explicitly tell you exactly how it works, but they did so through a dude with a weird accent and no subtitles who generally doesn't say things like that so you have no reason to expect what he says to be a tutorial.
It's bizarre that the literal same moment i realized this was widescreen now you did the same thing. Does the game natively support widescreen? I always figured it was some pc gaming wiki hack to do it.
The game was just mysteriously suddenly in widescreen when I booted it this time, but then it froze. After the reboot I was able to switch it into widescreen under the "not recommended" settings options, but that seemed to increase instability. Real mixed bag here.
People who weren't born when this came out, and complain about Unity being unstable, take note. This is what games used to be like. And then you would email their support, and they would get back to you a week later and say "We have no idea what you're talking about. Try taking out your graphics card and cleaning it."

@1:10 Yeah, It took me forever to figure out that you just have to click outside the tablet area to lower it without putting it on the ground.

I didn't "forget" anything. I've never used a tablet symbol before in this series.

It's likely intentionally confusing. Otherwise the entire age would be done in ten minutes because it's so low on content.
Yeah, There was definitely a few lines where I couldn't make out what Winchester was saying which quickly prompted me to turn on the subs.

@11:55 apparently not very because your drawings have been pretty sloppy but they seem to be working so it seems quite forgiving.
