Jamaal Wilkes wasn't just so silky smooth, he also a sweet all-around game. John Wooden once said that if he could construct his perfect player he'd look a lot like Jamaal. Wilkes' was never the main man but without him those teams wouldn't have been nearly as good. He was an important piece on those great Walton led UCLA teams, the Rick Barry chip winning Warriors in 74-75, and was instrumental in helping those Showtime Lakers win their first chip. I mean, Jamaal had that funky form on his outside shot but he could drain it. He could could also defend, attack the basket, and rebound. "Silk" didn't make the Hall of Fame for nothin. It's crazy I read he had an unorthodox jump shot, but I shoot the same and it works perfectly fine hard for people to block and especially if you get enough lift and hang time. I always was a knock down shooter, but my cousin showed me to shoot like this. It takes awhile to get use to if you have been shooting a certain way your whole life, but it helps when being closed out on or guarded up close. Keep your eyes on the rim and follow through. It's a beautiful thing I know Jamaal feels the same way.
