EL&P has always been my favourite group. Innovators in the seventies, this musical group has accompanied my life since adolescence. The Sage is the song I prefer best. The lyrics sound archetypal, touching deeply my soul. Besides, it becomes one of the poems that can only be heard in English, to reach profoundly the Self. Thank you, EL&P, for giving us so much musical art.
ELP was so underrated in so many ways. This is definitely one of the best songs that shows the power of Greg’s voice. So sad he and Keith left this world way too soon. 😢 Imagine what they could have created if still here.

I was a multi instrumentalist even then, self-taught (had recently mastered most of Classical Gas by Mason Williams. It was the first time I can remember hearing harmonics - totally blown away! I was so chuffed the first tike I mastered them - had to save my pocket money to buy a steel string guitar! 😊💖🎶

Greg just never got the credit deserved for his vocals. (Much less credit for his guitar skills (which kill me and make me quite jealous ) And additionally, his writing. A huge contribution to ELP. I miss Greg, on so many levels. ❤❤❤
So much of the Genius Progressive is hidden due to the length and/or non-pop atmosphere of classics like this. I love this one because it's from the live album, and sooooo well done.
