- We've been living (almost) full time in our van for 18 months now and have fallen in love with tiny living, so we decided to get a taste of (larger) tiny living and rent a tiny cabin in Dripping Springs, just outside of Austin!
We spent the weekend enjoying our cabin and its beautiful property, going to Pedernales Falls State Park, and eating BBQ from The Salt Lick. It was the perfect staycation!

It has been a blast! Definitely tried to turn "lemons" (having to stay put) into lemonade as best as we could!
I camped at P. Falls for Xmas a few years ago. It was great, specially with day trips to Jester King Brewery and Fredericksburg wineries
It's such an amazing area! SO much to see and do (and eat)!
Cutest cabin & the property was beautiful! Aw those donkeys were SO cute 😍 Head bang was funny 🤣
The donkeys were the BEST! We want a pet donkey lol! And he really thought he was going to clear that one part of the ceiling 😂

I love this tiny house! It was awesome and makes me want to have a tiny house of my own. Love seeing all the videos in Texas and I will definitely have to put them on my trip list for the future.

I'm almost ready for retirement 🙂 a coworker of mine has a sprinter van and him and his wife are big adventurers like yourselves. I took my grandkids to souix falls corn 🌽 palace badlands Rushmore and Custer state park ore covid. Didn't know about the Indian lady sculpture by the Missouri River and the trail you did in the badlands or cathedral spires and trail around lake sylvan we did do the trail to Harney peak. we also need to do Spearfish can't wait to take grandkids back again. Loved seeing things we have missed. ty guys!

That cabin is perfect. Just the size I'd like, and in a beautiful setting. Pedernales Falls looks a bit like Jonhson's Shut-ins in Missouri (maybe a little less "shut-in").
That park looks AMAZING! 😍 And we found out the cabin is around 500 square feet, which is 50 square feet smaller than our Seattle apartment was, which confirms we could handle it!
Okay we're going to have to recreate this getaway when we visit Texas, including the cabin, state park, and barbecue!

I love how in the US that's classed as a 'tiny home'. I'm fairly sure it is bigger than my first flat in London 🤣 Kathryn, I loved you in the bloopers... "First, what's the first one? Oh yeah!" Loved the wedding snaps at the start. In England, it's difficult to get married outside as by law it has to be under a fixed structure like a gazebo. Plus of course there's always the gamble with the weather here but that's a whole other kettle of fish. Always think US outdoor weddings look so lovely and Hill Country seems perfect for them! Fab video ❤️
Hahaha everything seems to be bigger here in the US, especially Texas! 😜 Adam calls me "one take Kathryn" whenever I can remember everything I want/need to say in one take, but that little tidbit of info took me about 5 takes haha. Outdoor weddings in Texas are SO beautiful, especially in Dripping Springs, but it's definitely risky with the weather. It rained the day before our wedding and was cloudy the morning of, but then got nice!

We are so going for the Yurt sometime this year. We need to get back to PFSP. Our daughter was 10 years old the last and only time we’ve been there. And now she is in her early 30s with kids of her own. Thanks for sharing and now I have to try the burnt ends.

I really liked the tiny house cabin. I would think you spent a good hunk of change on the Salt Lick BBQ with brisket, ribs and burnt ends. But I love BBQ. I don’t like the vinegar based sauce. Kansas City has some really good BBQ as well. I live in KC area.
Bbq is very pricy! It’s probably the only time we spend more than $30 for food for both of us, but it’s worth it!!
That tiny cabin was ADORABLE! Dad and I need to reserve it for a little get away! I just loved Adam coming down the slide and was glad he didn’t get stuck! 😆 Kathryn, you were adorable as always! OMG, at 4 seconds, I'm in your video, ROFL. Those cabins are amazing, may have to try those out some day. Wow, saw myself down there a few times, how cool, we just barely missed each other. Would y'all mind if I shared this video with our subscribers on our community tab? Also, I know y'all like checking out local food joints, We hit up Hill Country Ranch Pizzeria, next to the HEB in Dripping Springs. The food was amazing, they had burgers and salads and pasta.... Omg! I had no idea you lived in texas. And so close to me!! I'm a fairly new subscriber. This park is gorgeous. Was just there 2 days ago. It's so worth it. If you haven't been to Krause springs or Hamilton pool these are must sees also.

That's a nice place; thanks for the video. I like the concept of tiny home, but I would prefer if the loft be closed off so people can sleep quietly while others do activities in the living area.
I know of at least one person in Austin and that is Rich Condit who is a retired virologist on the UA-cam podcast called Twiv (This week in virology). I started listening when the pandemic broke out. He sometimes jokingly says for no more people to come to Austin, it's too crowded he feels.
We like the idea of a closed off loft too! What's cool about tiny homes is that you can really customize them however you'd like!
Hahahah yeah...lots of "don't move here" around these parts (not from us!). Austin is growing a lot!

We actually saw a fox! It ran in front of us on a trail (about 50 ft in front of us?), but it ran too fast and I didn't get to film it. It was very cool though!

Rudy’s is another spot has crazy good melt in your mouth brisket and amazing cream corn
I worked for the corporate office that managed the Austin area Rudy's for a while, so I would get tons of free Rudy's everyday haha. It's a great spot!

Hi Aldous! We haven't hiked Angel's Landing (the chains part freaks me out and it gets really busy, so we prefer Observation Point), but we have been to Zion and Bryce! We try to East as clean as possible at home. Not as much control over that when traveling and exploring, but we do still try to choose the healthiest options we can find.
