Frank had a lot of crazy ideas. He was a musician not a philosopher. He created some great music and some not so great music. I enjoyed his work. Always found it creative, entertaining, and interesting to listen to.
He had a lot of great quotes though. “The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”
Alex winters docs are, too good. I saw belushi and zappa. It does take some mystique away. You could get a attitude seeing this tiny comment about his kids. After watching that doc and seeing his upbringing in that. You see the dudes "origin" story. Its something i never got from the auto or one other biography i read on him. Everybody comes from somewhere. And acts accordingly, i guess.
1% talent? Have you seen any of his handwritten symphonic scores? Not sure about any of your skills, but your ignorance of Zappa's dedication to his craft and work ethic just highlights your arrogance.
I tried to "listen" to Zappa, I tried to understand what I was missing, I really did. There you go, I tried but I just never found any happiness or reward in his music. To my ears he is seriously over rated by his fans, each to their own I guess but Frank is not for me I'm afraid.
@@harmonyandmore I admire your patience and fortitude sir. It must be an acquired taste but I think Frank would have understood when I say I will never taste sushi either. Enjoy your forbidden fruits of delight.👍
Love me some Frank Zappa. Truly one of a kind. Cheers!!
Frank Zappa and Jack Teagarden are my favorite musicians. Both are amazing musicians!

Not sure of his math skills. His 1% talent seemed to tell him that his 99% arrogance = his perpetual greatness.
Not quite up to the level of Scott Steiner math...

@@johngatewood4638 nicely said...
@@johngatewood4638 Poe's Law in action. Zappa himself is the one who said he had 1% talent and 99% arrogance.

it’s a good mix of humor, weirdness, and advanced musical concepts. Some tracks I skip over, but some I play over and over.
