Also, I wanted to add that you can perform an Offensive movement by evading (hitting up or down) and hitting p+g+k during the evade start up. These are not evasive like a regular evade and you are essentially standing without blocking other than some instances where the offensive movement will avoid moves on rare occasions. These are mostly used to reposition yourself on the stage or to setup side block setups after landing plus frames! ALSO. I apologize for the audio quality. I am on my backup PC atm if you haven't heard my Main rig is down. See the community post for more information on that. At least I can still make content!

As a fighting game player for many years. I often adapt pretty well and quickly to any fight game I play. My fundamentals are just well intact. But I gotta say that VF has been a journey. VF is unique in that everything is universal to every character. To me no character just stands out as being broken or an obvious top tier. Every character truly feels viable. Because things are universal, the battlefield is even. No one truly has the upper hand. It purely comes down to your knowledge. The things that you spoke about literally lay out the game. There are no hidden gimmicks or special comeback mechanics. It's like, who uses this general knowledge better between you and your opponent. VF is an extremely pure fighting game. That is its appeal to me as well as its charm. Very good tips bro. I appreciate it!

VF's combat was made simple on the surface from the getgo so ANYONE can jump on the sticks or pick up a pad and play this. As long as you're paying attention to what's happening on the screen, you can play Virtua Fighter.
Beating a seasoned vet, on the other hand, will require a bit of work and a lot of time. 😊
Solid tutorial! Been a fun journey so far learning Sarah & busting out the whiteboard to write down notes. Like you said, gotta go to school. Focus on one concept at a time.
I love how everything has a time and place in this game. That concept of abare & mashing is still valuable, but it has to be educated. This game gets awesome the more layers I find. Look forward to learning more. If by some small chance you could break down frame advantage more in a follow-up, I'd appreciate it. My biggest struggle learning the concept is what + really means. What moves should never be used raw vs saved for advantage and on block vs on hit. Same goes for negative in my simplified brain, only press fastest moves on negative or block stun but I doubt that's accurate. I'm still learning, but it's always been the part of fighting games that never clicked.

I ended up going on a 10 win streak using Jeffry just because a lot of new players are trying to combo and not blocking. I think so many people are thinking it’s like Tekken, and fundamentally, yes it is, but only fundamentally.
Seeing a video of Justin Wong having a hard time trying to understand the complex combos of this game makes me nervous trying to get into this game knowing how many sweaty try-hards there are going to be online when playing😵💫

i want to play, cannot play. netcode some dog shit, in ranked i ONLY get 250+ ping, 8 rollback frames, in room matches is more than half of the games, i cant really tell if its me or not (i hope not knowing i dnt have problems on any other games) but i also tried with a friend and it was 90ish ping whole time but the teleporting and input drops are killing me, need a patch asap.
Am i missing something? is there a way to fix it idk about or what?

The Netcode is dogshit right now sadly, hoping for a fix asap. Like I play vs my brother in the room literally next to mine, and we have 50ms (with 1-2 Rollback Frames) where other fighting games gives only 3-5ms...
