I love the new scouts. I actually pre-ordered the suv with range extender. You missed the mark though on rivian. They are great off road ev rigs. I get that ev isnt for every one but rivians are really nice. The company is really cool too.
@@countyline81Not true. It depends on where you drive that 1,000 miles. We took a Tesla Model Y more than 1,000 miles round trip (~588 each way) from Philly to Cleveland and back. Plenty of Superchargers along the way; two relatively quick charging stops each way (by the time we finished a snack and hit the restroom we had enough charge to continue). In parts of the country with plentiful Superchargers, long trips are fine.
Got excited when I heard this was coming but that faded the second I heard it was electric, as I live in a relatively rural area where I often do a lot of off road we have no chargers, in the city where all the chargers are you don't do much off roading.. seems a bit out of touch but who knows maybe it will do well with the mall crawler and weekend warrior crowd.
@ChasingHorsepower no probably not, I commute 70 miles per day to a very small farm town to work 5 days a week and Colorado Winters can sometimes be Brutal so electric and even hybrids are kind of a no go , probably just keep my Tacoma and Jeep and see if a gas version comes down the road, but I've always had a soft spot for Scout as I was nearly born in one that my family drove daily until it broke down and began it's life as a lawn ornament on my grandmas farm around the time I was 8.
I love the new Scout design. The electric powerplant will provide a combination of luxury performance, smoothness, and thrill that is felt down to your core... and not easily matched with an ICE alternative.
Just bought a '24 Bronco Sport. Hoping these EV/PHEV Off-Roaders progress in the next 5 years. Need gas mileage over off-road, but being in my 50s I am nostalgic to finally own a real off-roader (that is not a wrangler) with good MPG.
Starting price at $60k end up $90k and too big ruck for off road. Electric truck you might have to carry a generator with you, and it is very expensive to bring your scout back to the city to charge.
I'm hlaf you believe what you are saying. Rivians brand is built on adventure driving and off-road capability. Maybe you would not take a Rivian rock climbing but to say it's meant just for street is misleading and you know it. The content is cool and the scout will be also but you can definitely see the design cues between Rivian and Scout.
If they had a V8 engine and were $25,000 less expensive they would sell like hot cakes.
Who could make a vehicle like that? Wake up it's Biden's economy 2024.
@@dearbulls we're still under trump's tax plan from 2018
lol 😂 yet combustion sales are down electric ones are up. Market says different.
Even 15k less would be enough. Although let's be real, if it really comes to market it will sell like hot cakes as it is.
And you think things will really get cheaper under Trump 😅😂@@dearbulls
Looks great! But too expensive and too electric.
Guess I’ll hang onto my Wrangler a little longer.

Good call! Rivians are most definitely pretty capable offroad with their active suspension and 4 hub motor design.
Rivian is built purely for the street?!? With 15” of ground clearance? That doesn’t make any sense.
Yeah, the quad motor design and air suspension actually do make them pretty capable offroad. So you're right, not purely for the street.
He almost lost me there. Sure it's more on road focused than the Scouts, but they are definitely not on road only.
Soooo…. Where are you going to charge it when off-roading?
That's what the gas range extender is for! It adds 150 miles of range for a total of 500, and you can just bring your gas cans with you.
Looks cool. Electric I’ll pass
Even with the range extender?
@ 1000 mile road trips in anything electric won’t work. Now make it with a naturally aspirated gas or a diesel engine that’s actually reliable.
@ChasingHorsepower
YES, EVEN WITH THE RANGE EXTENDER

i wish if it has a v6 twin turbos :(((((
That’s just friggin hilarious. A gas generator to charge you up….
$40k with a ICE and I might think about it.
Very sharp, but I think they should keep it an ICE not a full EV.
I think you forgot to inform people that the Scout will come with a solid rear axle.
i wonder will you be able to modify the traveler for example if I wanted to lift mine ?

Do you think getting the range extender would solve those concerns or no?

I put my $100 down for Traveler w/ gas generator!
Looks like its gonna be a blast!

A bronco sport is not a real off roader lol
$60k? More like $80k... VW needs the money.
2027. Grown im going bro have to get a bronco. More customizable
I love it! I want to put a deposit on one, but I’m afraid of how reliable it will be.

Wow, this comment section is hostile!
EVs can be divisive!

That’s a family suv not a jeep 😂
Hahaha, never electric.
Good Luck!
2027!??? 😂
Its not even 2025 yet.
Wait until 2027 or just buy a used Rivian next year for even less...Sorry scout, you're out.
But that range extender is very tempting 😅
Repulsive electric junk….no thank you.
Electric? I'm OUT
Oh boy.. another electric car company. These tech bros are so annoying.
Electric, no thanks. Just lost a customer
Nobody wants electric
The 75 Bronco is stupid , everyone knows that . Only the 73 and quarter Bronco is good “ for people who collect vintage cars “.. like so many others
radio???
