32:36 I don't agree at all. I think the voice acting is much improved in RE2 and for the most part it's quite convincing for the time.
That fan made HD touch up looks FANTASTIC. God I wish I had a nice PC so that I could enjoy a lot of the awesome 3rd party content that's been coming out in the recent years.

The alligator fights difficulty is up to the player. It is the easiest if u use the gas tank. Medium if u dont use it, and damn near impossible if u use the knife. Keep in mind he will only die or get away in last cam angle. If u cant kill him by then, he will kill u instantly.
I thought the gas tank was the only way😅
The G. Launcher has two improvements over the Bazooka of RE1
Can hold an infinite amount of shells instead of the six that the bazooka could hold and it also has the much needed quality of life change where you can switch between shell types anytime. Im RE1 you had to empty the bazooka before you could reload it with different ammo.

A testament to this game's story... is that I never noticed that it follows the same plot beats as "Aliens". The fact I never noticed shows how good it is.

BRING IT ON, IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD! Subbed, liked and got my dosage of RE Retrospective fix from this videos. Kudos to you, it's really good series and a definitive step up form rainbow ponies videos.
I think the best way to use tank controls for a newbie is playing on a handheld game console. I have 2 & 3 on PS Vita I got before they took them off it and it’s actually easier to play. I used to play GBA SP when I was a kid, so using that to play RE2 & 3 was way easier to play.
I don’t know why, but that HD version looks like it makes the colors fade a little as well.
And I’m going to be honest, I think RE2 (original) is still the best game in the series. I like the remake and I think 1-5 + 0, CV, Outbreak 1&2, and Revelations 1&2 are good as well, I don’t think any of them scream RE like 2. Honestly the devs who kept making the series more action (which was even happening before 4 came out, which is why we have DMC) is why I think RE went down hill into action games with creepy monsters. And I personally think 7 & 8 (7 is good, but I can tell it’s pushing RE out of RE’s lane, especially since 8 looks barely like a RE game) are going to push RE back down/away from what RE is like 6 did.
OG RE2 is by far the best survival horror game ever made.

10:28 I know exactly what you’re saying. Kendo was always so terrifying in the OG. I think that’s why I despise him in the remakes current canon.
15:05 - The first time I played RE2 I was already scared and tensed up, then that happened and it totally broke my brain. I wasn't sure if I wasn't sure if I was seeing things because I was so scared I wasn't paying attention and there was no sound, so I wasn't even sure if it happened. I have to say that that was the only time in my life that I've felt that particular feeling, it was a combination of fear, confusion, insanity . . . It was just a WTF moment. Has never happened again since. And guess what, I did exactly what was done in the video I turned right around back the other way.

The zombie door transition is in a couple other areas that one is just the only strict scripted one the others happen at random times.
Fun fact, the Re3's (aka the lickers) actually hunt primarily by sound and and scent. They cant see. That's why in the re2 remake you can just walk past them as long as you dint get to close, because they'll actually eat zombies too. This is from the books by S.D. Perry. I recommend them, theyre amazing.
Another thing I can think of that happens only once is the through-the-window close up camera angle once you enter the hallway right after the Licker crawls over the window. It is never triggered again after that.
I wonder if it's a callback to the close-up that happened after you exited the dog hallway in the first game.

I just finished RE2 (1998) both Clair A and Leon B scenarios and oh god is RE2(98) so much better than RE2R imo..
Also something that I want to point out about the whole beginning if the game, if you choose Easy difficulty it starts you with a generous amount of handgun ammo (120) and the red boxes of ammo you pick along the way are also rather generous, Normal difficulty you get enough ammo through pickups to make it through to the RPD, Hard difficulty you get what's in the gun already (Leon's gun 18 bullets and Claire's gun gets 13 bullets), also just like in RE1 with Chris, Leon is a bit more Tankier than Claire, whereas like with Jill, Clair is a bit weaker than Leon.

12:23 Brad Zombie is tougher in Scenario A over Scenario B where he has normal health. That is what you're expericing.
Claire's pistol actually does slightly more damage than Leon's.

I might be wrong but I think the door thing can happen again depending on which hallways you bring the shutters down for? Like if you let the zombies come into the hallways leading to the library they can come into the library next time you open that door. It’s been a long time for me tho so maybe I just made that up
I'm quite certain you can mash buttons to take less damage in RE1, you take more bites otherwise
and how many brads do we have in the alpha team exactly ? because theres 1 brad in part 1 who die .. and then wake up as zombie in part to .. and here we go again in part 3 he back to normal again but killed again by nemeses when Jill first enter the RPD ??? what the hell ?? BTW (its not the first time to happened we got a scene like that in the first RE game when u try to open the main door of the mansion a dog will try to attack u and u will close the door fast it will also repeat that its too danger to get back outside 21:57 ) ( a bow gun its sucks and totally useless against birds - lickers - dogs)

At your timestamp, he was giving an example of how there are 4 scenarios.
At 4:25, he says Claire A - Leon B is the plot he will cover in the video as that is accepted as cannon.
Capcom was never going to release 1.5 as its own game. It was an abandoned RE 2 project.
RE 2 was its official title. Its only called RE 1.5 because of the fans who kept working on the dropped project.

Welll if you kill the zombie who is eating the store guy you can use his shotgun or cross bow from the beginning of the game so not always it's waste of bullets

Resident evil 2...easy, the original is amazing but the easiest of the Trilogy. Lack of great puzzles too

Some versions have a character select option, others like the original PS1 version require you to start a game with disc 2 to play as Claire

I'm using a Blue Yeti, a mic widely considered to be perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure that the plastic bottle effect you are talking about stems from my inexperience with audio editing. I'm definitely looking into how to make it better for future videos.

You can kill Brad by kicking his head off when he falls. Means taking damage but saves loads of ammo.

The intro is so incredibly immersion breaking compared to RE3.
The lack of sound, the bad acting, the Tekken 1 character models... compared to this, RE3 really feels like the real thing.
Get to Brad zombie, then go inside the police station and get more ammo and equipment
