i clicked on the thumbnail because i thought he was wearing a dashiki with matching kufi
Maude P'interest Lmao same
100% agreed. We got hoodwinked!
Facts
I was thinking like ‘wow, he really can be eccentric’. I totally thought he was wearing that too lmao.
Me Too 😭😭😭
Quentin looks like a blaxploitation villian that's about to do some voodoo shit.
lol
😂
Funniest comment I read today 😂thank you
All i see is nerdiest nerd in history. Genius
Quentin even got the Blaxploitation Fit on 😂😂
Did he walk into Samuel L. Jackson’s trailer, stumble and fall into his clothes?
Makes so much sense you can totally see that influence especially in his earlier films
I grew up where there were zero blaxploitation films but once you hear the history of them, it's easy to see how they influenced Tarantino's movies
Dudes ready to celebrate Kwanzaa
I saw the thumbnail and clicked immediately lol
Seriously thought in the thumbnail Quentin was wearing a traditional African clothing 😂
The irony
I love how he took the font from Rudy Ray Moore's "Disco Godfather" and used it for Django Unchained. Genius!
Where?
His outfit is out of control
I always saw Tarantino as the opposite of Michael Bay. He makes cool action movies, and they are actually well written and well filmed.
Say what you will about the writing in Michael Bay’s movies, but he’s a master at filming action. The Rock, Bad Boys II, and Ambulance all have thrilling, beautifully shot action sequences. His shot compositions are awesome as well, and the way he uses color is excellent.
Yep
Imagine thinking Michael Bay films aren't well filmed.
Man this dude is too cool! Back then and now.
you aight white boy
Can I come to the cookout?
@@JFKHaircut yea we spice our food though hope you're ok with non-bland food lol
We need a follow up interview with Quintin’s mom boyfriend who took him to downtown la that day
“…and then i saw pam grier’s feet!”
This guy reeeeally loves black culture I respect it😂 Imagine the convos. Could talk to him for hours about these films.
I *love* to watch great creative people just geek the fuck out about the stuff they adore!
1:18 - this is when Tarantino revealed himself as a fake German and after the interview was conducted, a wild shootout began between his creative team and the interviewers leaving few survivors.
I had to see the thumbnail to believe it.
He is such a great talker
“Is she any relation to Wanda Sykes”?
That definitely marks this as mid-2000’s....
Rory and Mal brought me here, and it’s crazy bc they were just talking about wether he says nigga and boom here he is dropping it lol
Nobody is talking about this!!! His first talk about learning the voice and being able to say everything because he watched some movies. More importantly who and why was this ok but everyone else is not ok with it. If he can say it so can everyone else. Nagga
“Is this gone?”
My all time favourite Blaxploitation movie is Hit Man 1972,it’s a black version of Michael Caine’s Get Carter. It’s absolutely incredible and in my opinion not far off being equally on par with the original movie . Bernie Casey as Tyrone Tackett is the best casting in all of black cinema, honestly this guy oozes cool and badass in every frame he’s in but if you read the criticism from the time and now you’d think that this movie was a boredom from titles to credits, these wasters and in my opinion scam crooked grifters show their true colours more then than they do now with all this progressive cinema nonsense we have today where they are so obviously paid to write that ridiculous garbage. Hit Man is “THE” movie i show anyone who hasn’t watched a Blaxploitation movie and wants to watch one and it’s the first movie i recommend anyone to watch in that genre
Tarantino makes being quirky OK
Alright
with the kangol lmao
Did he say N-word Charley 😂🤣😅🤣. That was hilarious.
He said it like it's something you can just say 😂😂
Samuel Jackson gives him a N-word punch pass whenever he's cast in his films
What caught me was when he said his mom was banging alot of black guys at the time 😂
@@kitamirikepeter2743it is something you can just say. Try it.

Bruhhh
Imagine jim carey doing this 😅
Brenda Sykes in no way is hotter or more beautiful than Pam Grier … come on now Quinten
shush
Brenda Sykes is one of the most beautiful women to have ever existed, as is Pam Grier.
💀💀💀
Jesus, what is he wearing? 😂
Wow! Talk about pandering
How many eight balls of coke does Quinten do a week?
300th comment
He's mocking my people and my culture with that insulting costume. I do not like this man, He has made a fortunate off of our backs
TRUTH
So, you don't wear a suit and tie ever?
Kangol is an English brand started in 1938 by Jacques Spreiregen.
This is a joke comment, right?
Some black guy dating Quentin Tarantino's mom took him to the theater to see a Blaxploitation film... And we don't know who this man was... But the film world, and film lovers will forever be in this mans debt for his influence!
what color guy took you to the theater?
+lorenzo lohman What color guy took ME to the theater? I don't get the question.
No, it was necessary to say black guy. Because it is the best way to describe him.
of course we know it was Terry Crews Quentin's stepdad
the emphasis on saying it was a black guy IS important because it was a black cinema he took him to. The influence of the blacksploitation films of the 70s is what this whole interview is about, and it's what shaped Tarantino's style. A White guy would have taken him to go see a Disney film of some sort, but this was a black guy who watch black films, and that's what made the difference, and we are all grateful for it. He showed Tarantino the film's HE watched and that changed everything. And now, the nuances of 70's black cinema has become integrated into classic cinema. It's a marvelous and significant thing for all movie fans. So to ignore the fact he was a black guy would just be wrong, because he helped break the barrier, and young Tarantino was instantly inspired.
The guy that took Quentin to his first black movie probably has no idea how big of an impact he had on the world.
Looks like a Nigerian cab driver. His cinematic knowledge is savant level. I really do wonder sometimes.
Damn that Quentin Tarantinos a bad muthafucka
mm hmm! ;)
_"The prettiest woman in Blaxploitation; Brenda Sykes! Any relation to Wanda Sykes? No, can't be!"_
Classic!!!
Tarantino reminds me of a character from a Spike Lee movie.
that white dude in White men cant jump
+Hans Blitz Big time willie from he got game
Thomas Williams
I was thinking that white producer in Bamboozled played by Mike Rapaport.
Actually, in 1996 Quentin had a cameo in Spike Lee's "Girl 6" playing himself. He's also mentioned in Lee's "Bamboozled" a few years later.
Interesting, didn't know that.
I guess the Q man couldn't find a Daishiki.
That outfit is blaxpolitation...
I love this guy. He seems so awesome to talk to.
Watching Tarantino just loving the hell out of movies is great. He really loves fun movies. Loving fun and being cool really is the best part of life. Fuck all that other shit
Thomas Jefferson Who doesn't?
+Thomas Jefferson lol the BBC myth
Aww look at you trying to get "likes".......hell yeah man fuck all that other shit! -_-
If your ego is really hurt by seeing ppl get youtube likes in the comment section you should rethink your life
TMP Yeah man I just don't know what I'm gonna do with myself anymore I really need 29 likes on youtube....dumb.
Tarantino is the reason that ive decided to try write screenplay and dream of becoming a director
5 years later, did you write it?
yeah bro how's it coming along?
Yeah i wanna know
Hows it going dawg
@@mycycleminorities ok ask same to me 5 years later 😀
We're lucky Quentin isn't a serial killer tbh
Imagine this with dark horror background music. So glad he found the script and not the knife.
I’m not so sure he isn’t lol.
Imagine an alternate reality where hitler is a world famous artist and Tarantino is one of the most notorious serial killers
@@captain_starducks5048 "Any last words before we pull the leaver?"
"Weeeelll uhhhh you see....heres the thing"
Judge: "Why did you do it, Quentin?"
Quentin: "Because it's so much FUN, Jan!!!"
Now that explains it. He has been exposed to the black culture at a young age, which is why his films have that blaxploitation feel.
Never knew about his mom dating black guys, so it makes a lot of sense now.
How does he remember everything so in detail? Like, that's why he's so briliant
I know, it's crazy! I am so jealous of people with almost photographic memories like this! Definitely contributes to his ability to write amazing dialogue and his genius in general.
Because he made it all up
@@marcelltoing8363 why do u think that?
Is it unusual to vividly remember details of things you enjoyed or found interesting? Like I can't remember what I had for breakfast most days or how many hours I worked in a week or whatever - but I easily recall and talk in depth about things that were/are important to me 🤷♀️
Aspergers may explain it to a degree
I can listen to him for hours.Great guy and one of the best directors ever.
Quentin its dressed the part for Def Comedy Jam circa 1992. He looks like Dead Mike from CB4.
Don't fucking "Jimmie" me, Jules.
I could watch this guy talk forever. He's so animated
can't help it but he reminds me of that Rupert Pupkin character in "King of Comedy" - being all alone at his mom's house, talking and laughing to an imaginary talkshow guest
Jesus Christ, that's so accurate......
I love the way he always seems to get so high talking about films and movies.
This guy can remember in details the movie he saw when he was in "Third grade... maybe less." Jesus. This guys mind.
so many people hate on people for anything and everything. how be being happy for someone who loves something. white and black, he likes what he likes. those hatter attitudes are very prehistoric, keep up with the times.

Hes a paedophile apologist.
what the fuck is he wearing.
Clothes.
He looks sick
o0thx11380o 90s. The 90s.
+Oliver Henderson he does huh? he always looks to me like a tweeker. with his no teeth tiny lips look
+o0thx11380o hes trying to be black
I thought he was wearing a daishiki in the thumbnail lmfao
I have noticed the same thing -- there is a distinct difference on how he talks and acts depending on who he's around
"Damn! Y'know, that Sam Jackson is just a badass mutha-fucka!" Love it!
I thought he was wearing a daishiki in the thumbnail.
Fo real lol
lol Quentin's first experience in a black theater, where they're all talking at the screen, etc.--that's how I felt when I saw "No Good Deed" (starring Idris Elba), to review it for a film site. I was about the only white person in the room, and the audience was like "NO, Girl, don't let him in...!" etc. They were loud--they were into it--and I LOVED IT!!! (And I'm the kind of guy who HATES when some punk is fiddling with a "smart-phone" or otherwise causing distractions when I'm trying to watch the movie.)
RushLimborg black folk, cant live with em, cant live without em
Ill Conduct En masse? As a group, as if it's expected for the audience to Interact?
A black girl sat next to me at creed and wouldn’t stop talking and screaming “beat his ass” when they had the fighting scenes.
Wearing a fucking kangol hat... lol
He is a king of fashion! I saw a recent-ish interview with him where he was rocking a full damani dada tracksuit from bak in the 90s
Dear Tarantino. What a lovely chap.
Cool guy. Definitely an inspiration. Its his life, its how he was brought up. He respects black culture. Why is that so bad
He says the forbidden word
@@mikeywazowski7577 Word is homie has a pass
He made Kill Bill. Which was fully influenced by old asian films. Does that mean he also wishes to be Chinese?
Its mostly Japanese cinema you bigot 😂
dumb question
@@Martin-zz3wu no. It's rhetorical. A response to the topic of the video.
@@schmebulockjizz This; Hong-Kong action and Jedi-Geki are distinct individually unique genres,
you can't just lump them together/use them interchangeably.
He's a man of all races.
I don't know why, but i think this guy is high out of his mind.
Bb Thompson I don't think he uses drugs lol
I love you, Tarantino.
Tarantino is such a great time
Great interview.
This explains everything. No need to watch another QT interview.
As much as I'm at odds with some of his manipulative techniques & may enjoy other things, I respect his appreciation & understanding of the significance of the 70's Black film breakthrough, known commonly as 'Blaxploitation'. Was was derided as cheap pulp he knows had value as energetic genre film.
I seriously have to meet this guy and work with him. He is awesome!
one of the few directors who's work you always look forward to seeing
what is this man wearing
It looked like he was literally wearing pandering traditional African garbs in the thumbnail
Haha I exactly thought this ^
chris q That's what I thought too
dashiki - yeah me too

I love you, Quentin.
Cool interview.
Pulp Fiction is undoubtedly in the top 5. Tarantino undoubtedly is in the top 5 as far as directors.
He's so fascinating.
kinda bet the rush on all these films. Thanks Madlib.
This is awesome
you rock Quentin Tarantino!!!!!!!!!
I could hangout with Quentin Tarantino dude seems like tons of fun off the hook dude

He’s so awkward, I love it. :-P
Tarantino is amazingino
That makes sense. Thanks ^^
a great fella tnks for the fun tarantino even im not huge fan of your movies
the definition of talking with your hands.... but ya dude is awesome
What a small world, to think that you and Quentin's mom would have so much in common.
His brain moves so fast he forgets what he's on about alot haha
does anyone have the original source?
Yes.
Anybody know what interview this is from and if it's on UA-cam?
Dolemite!!!
great film maker
