This was an amazing conversation. Thank you for having Mike on this episode. Our industry is well lead ! We just hope government will listen to thought leaders like Mike.
I’ve never seen Dave this happy when doing a podcast you can see that he is a petrol head. Enjoyed this interview very informative ntate Mabasa shared some knowledge I didn’t know about the motor industry.
This is by far the best car conversation I’ve heard in my life, as a car lover and Petrol ⛽️ head I’m yet to hear so much insight, perspective and comprehensive breakdown of the Automotive industry in South Africa, Africa and the world. This conversation has build up a conviction to be more than just an admirer but also a participant and a contributor to the industry on way or another. Opportunities are abundant, thanks a million Bra Dave and also much appreciated for Brake Mike Mabasa for opening up and sharing about our first love as petrol heads 🚗 . Bra Dave please host an episode talking about you and your car collection and the story behind the cars like the 1M baby gusheshe 👑✨
I'm a huge car fan and I believe that the Youth should really contribute in Automotive industry through podcast, business, marketing, employment and touring the world and invest back into SA Automotive Industry
Intriguing and enlightening. Thank you Mr Mike Mabasa for sharing your vast knowledge and expertise. You're doing amazing King David. A pat on the back & many more blessings.
Absolutely insightful interview Broer, we hope the government gets to listen to your suggestions to start acting now before it's too late, we don't want to see a collapse like Eskom.
Ntate Mashabela i fell in love with your podcast because i wanted to know about history of radio in the country then it went on to the whole entertainment industry and now if u were to decide that yu only do this educational content i wouldn't mind. This is the type of content i would pay for
Refreshing Conversation! I was privilege to be invited in the BMW Rosslyn Plant, I was like a kid in a candy store. I even saw heritage Mama Esther 7 Series (currently not for sale). The Workmanship is excellent!
This ANC government is also proving to be more and more of a stumbling block. They have no sense of urgency, meanwhile there's rife corruption hence they can't even fix anything. They need to be booted out come 2024.
Toyota remains the best in the bakkie market then you add Mercedes Benz as well best brands the Japanese and the Germans are doing well congratulations on 40k subscribers Mr MASHABELA
I wonder if the ICE cars can be exported to alternative markets. Perhaps some markets on the continent, South America or Asia will move up the value chain and will leave the internal combustion automotive manufacturing space open for RSA & other African countries. The whole EV thing seems like it'll work only in developed or mostly developed countries. In some instances the more rural areas in those developed countries might not be able to accommodate the switch. I get why Mr Mabasa also insists on the need for 'green energy' transition. The EU in particular wants to limit the energy production & manufacturing capabilities of less developed nations using fossil fuels, under the name of preventing climate change. They want to essential add new tariffs to goods made using fossil fuel power, which would mean developing nations cannot compete in terms of price. The renewable technologies are expensive (batteries, solar panels) and not that effective at providing base load. Just look at Germany. Plus I do not think RSA needs to be taking such chances with energy needs given the disaster currently faced in the form of Eskom. All those component manufactures might find themselves in a bad spot should the energy provided either be too expensive or not available at all for hours owing to moving over to other technologies that are not so reliable in comparison.
The whole EV drive should be put on hold a bit. Toyota has different ideas regarding EVs and they argue that EVs wont take over in the near futurr. It's more western politics pushing the whole EV thing, not really science so they should stay put. We really need a proactive government that addresses matters with urgency
The truth is that electric cars are no better than fuel cars because the raw material for batteries is mined in Africa under conditions that damage the environment and violate human rights

Why did the government neglet the rail network so much?
Our motor industry is in huge crisis
The failing of our rail infrastructure is a ticking time Bomb.
