There's also multiple allegations of sexual assault emerging from around the global....when I say multiple we're talking about a lot of women.

House pre-dates but Knuckles and these guys had a working relationship. Id say knuckles is a co-pioneer altough his disco sound may not be liked by hardcore techno people.
I had the great pleasure of being part of one of the BEST SHOWS I have ever witnessed, it was in Cleveland back in like 98 maybe. But the were only like 25 heads at the show everyone one in town was at some candy ass 10$ a person shit rave....What a show those asshole's missed. Derrick played for almost 2hrs and Kevin rock. derrick was even calling my name over the tracks......I was giving him all I had on the floor........DAMn
These guys are like the Beatles to me. Each one has their own personality and sound, and yet they really came together as a team… at least for a short while. Does anyone know of a track that all three of them have worked on? I can think of tracks featuring all possible combinations of two, but have no recollection of all three.
In 3 weeks time, i'll be seeing these 3 pioneerz in Marseille @Cabaret Alleatoire. I really hope the crowd will be better than this... If not, oh welll, I'll be alone jumpin up and down. Rooooooooots!

Mr,May with the live act from the back, J. seems to be nodding out from the Dutch produce but in my mind is still better than a lot of dj's nowadays, even higher than Hunter S. Thompson at a Jefferson Airplane concert. I'd rather have a stoned J.Atkins fucking up the mix than some of these commercial DJ's playing prerecorded sets of "own" tracks, of which most are ghost-produced and poor in any aspect, all the while tweeting and posting. Crowd seems like they came to a floral exhibition instead of a techno experience of the highest rank. Can't catch any sort of rhythm, these folks...fuck an event where the DJ's are dancing more actively than the crowd, hot summer day or not.. unappreciative in my eyes. These boys made it happen before DAW's and Sync buttons, back when it was an art, a skill, not a trend or fad... Gotta appreciate the sight of these three gentlemen in action, considering the talent and history behind them. Thank you Detroit City for these three pioneers, for without them all that'd be left is shit cars... :P

crowd indeed was lame that particular time, but it was a extremely hot dat (33 degrees celcius) and the these guys were dealing with a terrible sound system which partly fucked up their liveset. many of the fans prefer sets from derrick or kevin in a smaller romantic setting (eg club)

The word after this was that Atkins was out of his mind f*cked up. Kevin and Derrick swore they would never perform as the Belleville 3 again because Juan was too much of a junkie by this point. They are the originators, but unfortunately Atkins has let the drug scene get the better of him. I was at this festival and spent some time listening to the set, but there were much better sets going on in other areas so we left to go hear Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, Len Faki, Mills, and eventually closed the night out with the Advent & Industrialyzer. All of them, even Garnier's set which was played with a live band, was better than this. Speedy J and Chris Liebing rocked this outdoor area, though. We didn't visit the big minimal outdoor area :-x *puke*
