Love this! Love, love, love Slow Dance and I really didn’t think I was going to vibe with it like I did so I grabbed it at the library and now I have to hit up the bookstore because it needs a permanent home on my shelf! I also read Echo Blue because of your previous video and loved it as well! It was a crazy ride and I enjoyed every minute. I read so much in August to squeeze it in before back to school hit (29 books) and it was a “meh” month but the books that I enjoyed I really enjoyed so I’m going to still consider it a win! Thanks so much for the Echo Blue recommendation…I would have missed out if not for you! Appreciate all the work you put in and the reviews!

Hi Zach, always a pleasure to hear your monthly wrap-ups. I read way more in August that I could have anticipated, this was my most productive month bar none since I got back into reading a year and a half ago. I finished 2 Dilbert comic strip books, 3 audiobooks and 8 novels. I soft DNF'ed Writers & Lovers - I just could not get into the audiobook, but I still have it on loan so I might circle back to it. Because I was getting bored, I looked through the (very-limited) library audiobook selection and when I saw that Rock Paper Scissors from Alice Feeney was available, I jumped on it. I just could not put it down, and I totally know now why you pitched that book across the room when there's *that* reveal. I did not see it coming, my jaw just dropped and I put the book on pause so that I could process the information. The rest of the book kept throwing twists and turns and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was late, but I could not put it down until I knew how it ended. It was a great recommendation! This one was shelved in my favorites.
I'm leaving on vacation soon, but I might attempt to read The Midnight Feast from Lucy Foley and The Hunger Habit: Why We Eat When We're Not Hungry and How to Stop from Judson Brewer. Then I'll grab something from my owned books to bring with me on the plane - haven't decided which book yet.

Hi Cindy, thanks for stopping. Look forward to your comments as always :) I'm happy to hear you enjoyed Rock, Paper, Scissors and I'm not the only one who was really surprised by that reveal. I hope you have a wonderful, fun and safe vacation!!! Thank you again for taking time to connect! Thanks for telling me about your reading month, I hope September is a good one!

I read 3.5 books in August. Haven’t decided if the last one is a DNF. I’m excited for a fresh slate in September! I have so many plans and I’m really motivated! Let’s hope I stay that way! I have 17 books on my Shorty September TBR, several craft projects, and I started my A&P class. Wish me luck!

I definitely feel like whatever a person has going on effects their opinions of the media they take it. Whatever you've got going on I hope it looks up soon!
The only one of these I've read was Five Broken Blade, and I'd say I liked it more than you did, but it was certainly a ride. I went from not enjoying it, to enjoying, to no, to in the end really liking it again. It's a weird one.

You are right about that. I am hopeful September will be better. And I’m glad you enjoyed Five Broken Blades, does sound like it was a rollercoaster of emotions 😂

Heck yeah. What a cool readathon focus. I bet that was really cool. We often put off things we look forward to, so that concept sounds really helpful. I'm glad to hear it went well for you.

18 books for August but 5 DNFs.
    7 3/3.5 stars
Top books were: Daisy Darker, Emma in the Night, House of Glass, The Alice Network, The Night Swim.
I LOVE!! Jodi Picoult and read her books as soon as they are released. This one is on my shelf but it's deep and long so much as I want to jump right in I think I'll save it for cooler weather an shorter days so I can really get deeply into it.

I would recommend saving it for cooler weather. If you think about it, let me know what you thought because I am curious 👀 it’s so different from her other books but not in a bad way.

@@ryreads As a writer myself I think her skills are awesome. I did not like her book "The Book of Two Ways" as much as all her others though the writing was amazing. I have some interest in the premise of this book as a female writer but am more drawn to it because it's a Jodi Picoult.

    10 books for August 📚
My favorite read of the month: 6 stars
The Unmaking of June Farrow - by golly I can’t even put it into words how this made me feel. I had to reread the last 6 chapters just to really feel it all again. I loved it!!!
The Invisible Library series, these were apart of a 8 book series I quickly read while sick over a week. I gave these all 4-5 stars. I liked this series a lot
Love on the Brain, a quirky quick romance, not very spicy, 4 stars

I also read A Novel Love Story! I liked the first half but not the second half 😂 the second half made me so frustrated because of what the characters were doing, they just frustrated me so much. The love interest did multiple things that made me question why he was the love interest, he was just not the best. I wish I had dnfed it because the ending was not worth it. This book also confirmed that I just don’t like romance books, I’ve only liked 1/7 that I’ve tried. The books I enjoyed in August were the Spellshop & The Wren & The Holly Library

I read “The God of the Woods” this month and was pretty disappointed. I didn’t really feel anything for any of the characters. It had too many POVs. The “twist” was lack luster, dare I say kinda predictable.
