I played Lost Alpha many years ago but never got to the CNPP or the generators so when I saw it again in Anomaly I realized how cool and how much history was behind this.
I loved to get to explore the generators area in anomaly, sadly the labs in there have nothing of interest :( even after bugging the entrance door from the war lab. I love your videos stalker, thank you for so much

I noticed on my latest play-though that there is a generator at the radar, on the right side of the hill when approaching the brain scorcher. It's either some reused set dressing or supports the idea that the generators are related to the emissions since that one is powered off.
Can I just say how much I appreciate your commentary? It's somehow very liberating hearing someone with an accent similar to mine. Being born in Eastern Europe myself. Oddly inclusive.

When I first played Stalker there was only one video review about it, even that wasn't that serious. I am so glad now it is getting the attention it deserves.
it's interesting to think that the scientist had build a counter measure to the unpredicted side-effects of the extablished link with the noosphere. Did so, not to revert what they did but, to understand better and control they breakthrough ... This does go along with the narrative of the book: Roadside picnic,; unthoughful tecnology is dangerous and it might end humanity, or at least most of it to the benefit of some; which goes along with Stalker SOC true ending and Roadside picnic's mid chapter
Its likely the creation of the zone caused 2 out of 6 of the generators to burn out/break under the stress of the extreme energy surge. This would explain why 2 are already damaged even in Clear Sky before Military helicopters bombarded the monolith forces and caused some damage to the suroundings in SoC. If zero generators active causes the zone to rapidly expand and have semi daily emissions and 4 is able to stablize the zone and make Emissions monthly: its possible the expensive repair of the 2 broken generators could further stabalize the zone and act as silver lining needed to pacify the zone or even lead to more generators/such tech that could either partially repair the nosphere damage or potentially warp the rift of it into the original intended goal of c-con (that is unless someone like SIN or such attempts to reverse its use to accelerate the zone expansion to the rest of the world)
"Site of the power plant" probably means the entire "Stancia" map. 10:14 2-4-7. Interestingly, that sequence of numbers is also significant in the original Half-Life since that's the order you have to go through the teleporters during that one part in the Lambda Complex.
would have been cool if the generators explained how areas of the zone are still powered. could be a experiment based on wireless transmission of electricity.

Well done and I agree with your theories. I came to similar conclusions myself in the past 10+ years after playing the original trilogy, Lost Alpha and Anomaly.
It seems like they are creating something like a bridge between us and Noosphere. In Stalker 2 you can see, that Emissions begin on the generators. You can find a video on YT how it looks like
I have a bit of a theory to add to your own, which is that the Generators don't just inhibit the Zone, but can somewhat control it. Why would they be on at the end of ShoC if the C-Consciousness' goal was to stop the military assault and Strelok's second attack? It's because they were using it to purposefully cause another emission, whereas turning them off would make it unpredictable, which would mean there was a chance the military could take CNPP before the emission struck. By using the generators to control the zone, they can cause an emission on demand, even if it uses massive amounts of energy or something like that.
I didn't know that satellites flying over the generators would make them crash, I did notice a lot of shooting stars in the sky above CNPP (in STALKER Anomaly mod) where the generators are located in the OG game. I don't know if that is a refrence to this piece of lore of from the modders or if it is in the original game.
It would be safe to assume that the generators are the actual epicenter of the zone when the group was conducting their experiments on the noosphere. Two are damaged due to malfunction during an experiment which in turn created the zone. Much like the safety experiment that occurred on the CNPP that resulted in the nuclear disaster.
Interestingly they are switched off during Clear Sky but there are emissions, and they are switched on in Shadow of Chernobyl an there are no emissions. Could be some connection there as well.
Always seemed like they were using the still functioning reactors at CNPP to power the Generators to repair the damage to the Noosphere. I can't imagine how much power is required to run the Generators. Also when it comes to canon and non-canonical I always chock it up to some issues with the timeline itself due to spatial anomalies and whatnot. Kinda have to wonder how many stalkers we don't know about who have inadvertently stumble into a spatial bubble to be spat out god knows where/when. So whenever the subject of the location of the generators comes up I always just figure something happened with the timeline that caused a paradoxical event. Then again when it comes to time travel theories I get all geeked out and pull out the grease board lol.
My guess the 2 damaged generators we're damaged during the second accident at the plant, all 6 are needed to tap into the nonosphere but 4 might have some influence over it and the reason they are so close to the power plant is because they need massive amounts of power and it would be hard to disperse that amount of power over large distances, also seems like the project was rushed, underfunded and kept in secrecy throughout there creation which in return caused the 2 major accidents. After clear sky perhaps the monolith turned them back on to create emissions in return creating more monolith, zombies and anomalies across the zone.
@@anomalousdugout9557 only thing I struggle with is what is powering them? the power plant is clearly non-functional and the other reactors would show signs of activity like smoke coming out there chimneys if they were being used, unless it has something to do with the c-conciseness or monolith tapping into some sort of free energy source like dark matter or using the nonosphere as an energy source?
hey dugout I've got a vid idea for you, why haven't any mutants made it out of the zone? I understand why the more vulnerable ones like dogs haven't but why hasn't a bloodsucker or controller made it out? they'd be able to evade or neutralize any military patrolling the perimeter
well i mean there is the case of a snork beating a guy to death with the remains of a shotgun (a guard at the border of the zone) so there probably are mutants who got out there but hey who knows , maybe this and some other questions will be answered in stalker 2 , out of all those questions i want to know who the hell is arming and supplying the monolith
@@mcsmash4905 ooh you got me thinking they could add supersoldier stalkers (could just be bosses since it'd mess with the theme of the zone) that are connected to escaped mutants like psychic stalkers from controllers and cloaked stalkers from bloodsuckers it'd be pretty rad Also I think it's explained in the lore or at least implied that it's military corruption, smuggling and in zone lab factories keeping monolith supplied with gear
Actually the cut map generators feature a diffrent lab just under the antenna at the center, it can be explored in call of chernobyl or anomaly and it's way diffrent than war lab, it looks similar to lab x-16.
Maybe these generators actually are attracting massive electrical anomalies and they do not normally shoot into the sky. So maybe they weren't like that in clear sky because the emissions actually caused anomalous energies to collect around it. Similar to how electro anomalies exist near electrical machinery perhaps the noosphere is pooling up energy on those generators because this is the most intense part of the zone, and it regularly does not make those giant energy pillars.
It's odd how the true _centre_ of The Zone is the Generators or the CNPP, yet in the games they're merely the Northern-most location - all of the existing maps only feature the areas _South_ of the so-called "centre"... which makes me imagine a "true" Zone with a further 75% of it presently unexplored (and un-mapped).
@@anomalousdugout9557 That could be, it was one of my original thoughts, but disel would also be hard to sneak in or obtain in the zone, this might have something to do with artifacts.
Are the generators in Lost Alpha Darkscape part of the original build or repurposed by Dezowave as interesting objects? If in the original what is their purpose in Darkscape?
@@Kris-ox5pmyes. You destroy 1 in a mission. It starts bleeding and breathing heavily. Then you fight the Regenerator when it reforms. (Resident evil 4 meme)
i think that you're wrong on 1 thing and you can prove me if im wrong but Zone will never expand in size and neather will the emissions becose the way im thinking about it the generators are like a knife but lets say you stab (turn on the generators on) a bottle (no-sphere) of something (Emission) with a knife (generators) if you leave the knife in (leave the generators on) the something (Emission) in that bottle (no-sphere) will slowly leak but if you get the knife out (turn the generators off) the something (Emission) in that bottle (no-sphere) will leak faster and stronger shure if you put that knife in even deaper the hole will expand but there is only that mutch expantion in that stab before you cant go any bigger but deaper so yeah the emissions will be stronger but never expand in size so this is irelevant to the whole Zone expanding thing (again saying prove me if im wrong becose i don't have any proof that that is how the generators work)
1:52 - So i'm gonna pause the video right here and post my guess/suspicions just for shits and giggles. (Just a heads up, this is going into some heavy spoiler terriotory for Shadow of Chernobyl) Seriously, if you haven't played at least the first 1st game but plan too, DO NOT read the rest of this fuck-off overly long comment. Now, i've not actually played any of the original trilogy of STALKER Games, in fact i only _just_ got my first experience with the games through Anomaly roughly 2 weeks ago or so, and the furthest North i've made it thus far is Army Warehouses. However, all that said; i _am_ pretty familiar with the lore/storylines of the games and the series of events that take place in them. But'll just to not step on any toes, let's just assume i'm prefacing everything i say here with a healthy 'If my guess is correct..." and leave it at that. So, from what i understand, their are quite a great many endings to the original game, Shadow of Chernobyl, like 9 or 10 of them, of which only 2 are 'True' endings, one of which is the actual canonoical ending, and the other 7-8 are all red herring/fake endings (wishgranter endings). So, assuming you didn't fall for the trap of the Wishgranter and pushed past/circumvented/destroyed it and actually made it to the C-Consciousness, you're then left with 2 choices, each leading to one of the true endings. We'll start with the non-canon 'True Ending' where Strelok (the player character) chooses to accept the CC's offer and join 'The Group' becoming a member of the C-Consciousness. Now, it's been a while since i've seen any clips of this ending cinematic, but i bring it up because it's the one that shows the little green-goo vats/tubes that the scientists are kept in suspended animation in order to interface with the C-Consciousness and therefore the noosphere. If i recall correctly, if you're paying attention, in that cinematic their are _6 tubes_ present in the room that provides the link to the CC/Noosphere. I'm sure you see where i'm going with this already. So, moving on now to the canonical 'True Ending' where Strelok rejects the C-Consciousness's deal, takes his Krinkov and lights up the whole room with a good 'ole fashioned KGB-style 'Up against the wall" magdump. Again, still 6 tubes present in the room. 6 tubes... 6 'Generators'... See where i'm going yet? So here's my theory, the 'Generators' as we know them, and as they'd likely be labeled in Blue-Prints/Architectural Documents/Zoning Maps/etc so as not the raise suspicion, are not generators at all; But rather they are effectively some kind of Broadcast Antennae, like a giant Signal Booster, or in the simplest possible terms, they're Psychic 5g Towers designed interfaced 1 each with each of the suspended animation tubes in the Collective Consciousness Lair which allows them to connect to/manipulate the Noosphere and actually _become_ the C-Consciousness. See, i think when they're all in those tubes, at that point their psychic-selves are still individuals, it's not until their signal is "boosted" by the 'generators' and fired upwards into the Noosphere that they all intermingle and become one, becoming the singular 'Collective Consciousness'. So now for the theory on why 2 antennae are broken in SoC, and why all 6 are broken in Clear Sky. Let's start with the tricky one first, SoC. So here i'm just guessing essentially, and my whole theory is still lynch-pinned on the idea of their only being 6 minds within the CC maximum, but my idea is either Only 4 of the scientists survived the interfacing with CC, or some time later some kind of damage was done to the antennas that then caused the deaths of 2 of 6 CC-Minds. It's really a which-came-first-chicken-or-the-egg type thing, so pick whichever you like best. Now, explaining why all 6 are suddenly inactive during the events of Clear Sky is a piece of cake, because in the Canonical 'True Ending' of Shadow of Chernobyl, Strelok refuses the CC's offer to join, and trashes the room and all the individual CC-Vats with rapid-fire 5.45mm from his Krinkov. So now that all six 6 scientist's are 'bodily dead' and no longer being artificially kept alive in suspended animation, their minds have died as well, hence, all 6 of the Generators/Antennae have fallen silent by the time Clear Sky comes around. So, anyways, that's my guess; Mind you, as i said before, i've never even played the games, i've just heard alot about them, been told all about them by friends, seen alot of YT footage from them, etc, etc. So i could _very easily_ and honestly quite likely be _WAAAAYYYYY_ off the mark with that guess. So i wouldn't take any of what i just said as gospel, or even as a semi-reliable narrative of events. If you want that go ask someone who's sunk 1000 hours of their life each into every 1 of the first 3 mainline games and another 2000 hours into Anomaly just to round things off with a neat 5k, lol. And just adding this here at the end because i just *know* i'm gonna get some replies saying it eventually, shit even writing this won't help, but anyways, here goes: Yes, i _know_ i should've played the official 3 GSC Gameworlds S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games before playing Anomaly, and yes i know they're genuinely great games. But honestly? I had (as you can see from the above TEDx talk) already had all of the major events/plot points/story beats for all three games majorly spoiled for me. Plus, and perhaps more importantly to me, i know myself and my tastes, i know how overly spoiled by modern gaming i have become, i've tried to go back to some of my favorite games from my young childhood in recent years, and honestly? It ruined those games for me, it took away my rose-tinted nostalgia goggles and the childish joy i got from them without seeing any of the faults because i wasn't a jaded 30 something with an insatiable and crippling c-c-combo addiction to nicotine and caffeine back when i first played them and fell in love with them. And frankly, i didn't wanna ruin the image i have in my mind of the first 3 STALKER games. That said though, because it felt scummy to me to enjoy a 'mod' (anomaly) made entirely off the back of all their hard work, i did buy all 3 original titles on Steam, plus i mean, it's a _Ukrainian_ dev team in _current year_ y'know? I figured those folks could probably use some friggin' cash and maybe to get the other half of their country back from the one wrongfully invading and occupying it, but since i can't do anything about that last one, and the first one only cost a grand total of $11.99 USD for all three games, i figured the least i could do was that.

@@mcsmash4905 ooh you got me thinking they could add supersoldier stalkers (could just be bosses since it'd mess with the theme of the zone) that are connected to escaped mutants like psychic stalkers from controllers and cloaked stalkers from bloodsuckers it'd be pretty rad
Also I think it's explained in the lore or at least implied that it's military corruption, smuggling and in zone lab factories keeping monolith supplied with gear
@@jimbothegymbro7086 would be interesting to see who is supplying them and how they were convinced to do so
Pretty sure there's a whole military regiment with tanks and IFVs surrounding the zone to make sure that doesn't happen
Actually the cut map generators feature a diffrent lab just under the antenna at the center, it can be explored in call of chernobyl or anomaly and it's way diffrent than war lab, it looks similar to lab x-16.
This was added by the modders and it looks like X-16 because they ripped it from X-16. The map made by GSC did not have that.
I was waiting for this
That's good.
So the generators direct the Zone's energy to space.
Makes sense to me
Thank you for this video, it very useful 👍👍👍
Glad to read that.
I just hope heart of Chernobyl, we get to see the true heart; where if you stand by it when an emission builds up, you see it.
It's very unlikely STALKER 2 will happen due to the war in Ukraine.

I think it does.
Isn't the cover of Clear Sky (at least the one you can see on Steam) actually the anomalous geoformation that can be found in Generators level?
9:48 what about blowout on Yantar?
It's odd how the true _centre_ of The Zone is the Generators or the CNPP, yet in the games they're merely the Northern-most location - all of the existing maps only feature the areas _South_ of the so-called "centre"... which makes me imagine a "true" Zone with a further 75% of it presently unexplored (and un-mapped).
While im here, may i ask, how do they have electricity in the zone? The bar has working lights right?
That's a good question. The bar is probably powered by normal fuel generators. The underground locations on the other hand, that's a mystery.
@@anomalousdugout9557 That could be, it was one of my original thoughts, but disel would also be hard to sneak in or obtain in the zone, this might have something to do with artifacts.
Thank you for subtitles :D
They are automatic thankfully.

As I explained, emissions happen regardless of the presence of the C-C. If anything, they were slowing down the emissions.
i recommend getting stalker anomaly i honestly recommend it.
wont disappoint.
i assumed the c consciousness would have made a 2nd body pod lab if they ever managed to extend the program.

@@anomalousdugout9557 do you think you will make Metro content?
@@Phazed69 No, I will not.
i think that you're wrong on 1 thing and you can prove me if im wrong but Zone will never expand in size and neather will the emissions becose the way im thinking about it the generators are like a knife but lets say you stab (turn on the generators on) a bottle (no-sphere) of something (Emission) with a knife (generators) if you leave the knife in (leave the generators on) the something (Emission) in that bottle (no-sphere) will slowly leak but if you get the knife out (turn the generators off) the something (Emission) in that bottle (no-sphere) will leak faster and stronger shure if you put that knife in even deaper the hole will expand but there is only that mutch expantion in that stab before you cant go any bigger but deaper so yeah the emissions will be stronger but never expand in size so this is irelevant to the whole Zone expanding thing (again saying prove me if im wrong becose i don't have any proof that that is how the generators work)

Hello!
Hi!
Wait, I thought blowout happen twice in shadow of chernobyl
And what is the cut maps' name?
Generators.
1:52 - So i'm gonna pause the video right here and post my guess/suspicions just for shits and giggles.
(Just a heads up, this is going into some heavy spoiler terriotory for Shadow of Chernobyl)
Seriously, if you haven't played at least the first 1st game but plan too, DO NOT read the rest of this fuck-off overly long comment.
And just adding this here at the end because i just *know* i'm gonna get some replies saying it eventually, shit even writing this won't help, but anyways, here goes:
Yes, i _know_ i should've played the official 3 GSC Gameworlds S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games before playing Anomaly, and yes i know they're genuinely great games.
