Oh my! Over black was awesome! Looks chocolate. My first thought was a late 60s C10, any 2nd gen Camaro, or a Datsun 280z.
But it would look nice on just about everything. Bass boats, bikes, an RV.... its just a really nice color ....

I give it a 4. I would like to see a rainbow colorshift over a burnt orange or a tangerine. I'm getting ready to paint a 2 tone blue on a 1966 Chevy corvair monza convertible, wish me luck haven't done this in at least 25 yrs, after that is done I'm going to paint a 1961 Chevy corvair greenbriar van ,they are both for my wife ,as i don't drive anymore. So this old hobby is back I'm disabled and don't have much else to do. Will try to send pictures when done, i watch all your videos on UA-cam on my big screen tv.

You got this brother, it’s gonna look like a million bucks!! I had a 63 Corvair convertible and it’s still one of my all time favorite cars!! No, it wasn’t a speed demon but I sure loved driving it, it was a fun driver!! I wish I could get that car back but doubt I could find it , I had a lot of fun memories in it.

I think you found my favorite so far black with champagne colorshift. Maybe with a keylime stripe or vice versa. Both 5

Champagne over black pops nicely 5/ 5 the keylime came out good too
I give it a 4 1/2. I loved it over the black. I didn't care for the lime green at first. However, once the light hit it just right, it really came to life.
I liked it a lot better than the copper.
How about trying, Oil rubbed Bronze, Commodore blue or Royal blue, and Glossy sparkle grey, one with a light coat of pearl blue and blue color change.
Same colors with just a clear pearl or clear pearl with blue flakes.

I think the black is a 4, the key lime is a beautiful color but the pearl just didn't show well so a 3-
I love it. It really popped on the black, and I love how subtle it is on the green. 5 and 5!!
I can see why base coat black is the "go to" under flip flop pearl. I'd give it a 4.5

How long should I wait before applying clear coat over rustolium paint
I typically wait about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the temperature but basic rule of thumb is touch an area that was painted that is unsuspecting or the tape you're using that has paint on it and as long as it's tacky but not pulling paint off on your finger you are ready to move on to the next coat thanks for watching

45 mins to an hr or until it's tacky to touch but not pulling paint off with your finger just touch the tape or a hidden area to check thanks for watching

I like your channel and the content. But what I'd like to know is the long term durability of the combo of Rustoleum and clear ?
I've been doing this in paint jobs for years this way as long as you use 2K urethane clear over Rustoleum I haven't had any issues it works as if you used any other regular Automotive base coat and we'll hold up for years as long as you prep the car correctly thanks for watching

You can but you def wanna be careful which colorshifts you put over what Pearls because they can conflict sometimes and it will look horrible if they do. I would just say do a spray out on a small scale first just like I do on the channel to make sure you like the way it looks before you commit to the whole paint job thanks for watching

It's part of this kit it's the one labeled champagne thanks for watching if you wanted to do a whole car in it you will probably need two or three kits I haven't found it in a bigger size unfortunately.
@@WHITLEYAUTOWORKSdang it, I’d love to be able to get it in a larger size for doing bigger projects. Maybe one day they’ll do it. I am in love with the root beer brown it created by spraying it over the black and I’ve gotta have it John!! Over the black is a solid 5+ and the key lime still gets a solid 4. It’s crazy how the same pearl can look like the metallic is 4 times larger over a black base and is much more subdued over the lighter key lime but…….. it still pops really nice, it’s just a completely different look and effect than I was expecting, although I’m pleasantly surprised!!!

@1982MCI yeah these color shift pearls will really fool you you spray them over any other color than black and they just kind of do something different but you put it over black and it's like bam just hits you with a really cool color
