The blue is from metal in the wood. I used to log walnut years ago and it was a problem sometimes. One nail will ruin a chain or make you have to sharpen the chain. Even more at the mill.
Was that really one massive tree?!
What a giant!
I could see you guys getting weary by the end of the day. What a job!
Great colour and pattern in the timber.
I’m amazed the saw went through some of that steel. They’ll be a pain to work with or around.
Great clip, thanks.
I love watching these slabs appear, good work, great skill. ❤
Thanks for watching us

Love your videos and hard work. Always enjoy watching you. You all are in our prayers and may God bless you. From your devoted Mississippi viewers. 😊💜👍
God bless you. And thanks for watching us
I'm kind of new to this kind of specialty, so excuse me if some of my questions seem fairly obvious. Do you contact with private individuals to take down trees from their properties? These two trees shown in this video have such beautiful grain it quite simply takes my breath away. Are the blue streaks in the wood from metal? Your continual attendance to your tools shows just how professional you are. What beautiful wood you harvested. It will certainly be made into something quite amazing. Thank you for this great video.
Super impressive on the Chainsaw jig, and the grain pattern is really nice !!
Great video as always, some beautiful wood.just keep doing what your doing.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thank you for watching, it's very inspiring
After watching many of your videos (which I enjoy very much!) I’m curious how many files you go through in a year? It must be a lot because of all the metal you cut when slabbing up these old trees.
Tak terhitung lagi banyak nya luar biasa👍💪💪❤️
Interesting content. Loved it
With all of these old trees fallen down or cut down - one needs to plant another 100 trees in the area where the old father or old mother grew up - to keep and restore the landscape to a healthy environmental landscape.
It's right, but not quite right
they would all die!

I was a fresh groundman on a climbing crew right out of highschool. I was felling small trees down a fence line. what I didn't know was the fence was moved after this particular tree I was falling had grown around it, they just clipped the fence off and left the tree. years later I come along make a back cut (first mistake) and catch that piece of old fence in the middle of the tree, it shoots my saw back out of the cut and right into my knee at full speed. Good thing I was wearing kevlar chaps as they did their job and wadded up stopping the saw saving my leg in the process. lessons were learned, luckily without a scratch and just some ego bruising.
Big fan from Albany, Georgia USA. I really like how you respect the tree. Nothing going to waste.

That looks like a big old Ash . I visited a Saw Mill and they actually would X-ray the logs before the were cut . Now I know why !
Things ive found and pulled out of oak slabs :
Musket balls
.50 cal rounds
Shrapnel
Barbed wire
Rebar
And once.....an entire unbroken bowsaw balde
The audio at the beginning would be good for security applications. Not likely to break in somewhere when you hear a large chainsaw and a barking dog.
Would Love to see what those slabs are made into, that's a lot of money in wood man!
Beautiful patterns in the wood.
👍👍👍👍👍
How much time do you spend average on an 8 to 10 ft cut like those??

What happens to all the beautiful slabs?
i remember slabing north Carolina pines!
finding civil war bullets! added value
With such metal-embedded trunks, it might be wise to rotate it and quarter saw a tree trunk for smaller slabs around the offending metal item - than to chew through it for bigger slabs and a destroyed chainsaw and chain saw blade.
Not everything is as simple as it seems in the video
Hello ... nice wood cutting ! And awsome content. Is that wallnut tree ? 10 cm thicc ? ... 😄👌
This is oak, thickness 8 cm
That slab at 7:13 is stunning. Would make a beautiful office desk top.
And not just for the office.
Ciao ragazzi !! E' veramente bellissimo questo tronco!! Buon lavoro!! 👏🏻👏🏻🥇🥰🇮🇹
An acquaintance of mine had a sawmill. He was cutting a log the day I was there and the blade found a flintlock musket grown into the log. Knockout teeth flew everywhere
So the metal detector actually works to detect the nail inside the log? What is the brand of metal detector u use?

No excavator, no skid steer, no hydraulic saw mill, just pure sweat and tears. Bravo. Necessity is truly the mother of invention. N'est-ce pas Miki Morgan.
Beautiful wood
Near where I live, years ago there was a tree with an ornate steel sign on it. I watched the tree gradually grow and completely encapsulate the ornate sign. Now 30 years later the tree is huge and there's no sign of the sign ever being there, but I know it is! It will likely ruin someone's chainsaw or saw mill one day!
A beautiful log
I need the same size of chainsaw mill. I have ms661 and ms 070. Could you uou advise where yo buy the same mill for slubbing
Luar biasa alat nya sangat bagus👍👍❤️
You guys do great jop 👍
We try

Que hermosos tablones!!!
I run a bandsaw mill, and I hit bullets every 20 or so trees, maybe just lead, but it kills the blades every time.
Is your G888 still alive? Or do you prefer to use the MS880?
Alive 888, but after the winter they haven’t started yet

I was hoping for a mortar in the tree 😂
That sure is some pretty wood. 11:25
Is this wood hopefully being sold?
Are the black stained areas where nails were at?
Those slabs are absolutely gorgeous, I sat watching this video dreaming of the tables I could build with them
Some times you find a rail road spike in a tree.

I'm truly sorry 😔😐 but every time I see someone cutting down such an awesome gigantic beautiful tree 🌲 it just seems like it actually hurts deep inside🤕🩸!!!!
People need to make a living I would assume..
@@spnkysy791 Well of course I know that to!!! But my boyfriend and I have been installing hard plastic fence posts on our property and they came highly recommend by all the locals who've been using them since 65 and showed me pictures of the ones from back then and I've seen the recent ones and they look the same except the bleaching from the sun 🌞😎!!! I'm no ingeneer but steal gipsum hardy plank and asphalt roof sounds better than those poor flammable old trees!!!
If it allegedly hurts you to watch it then common sense would be not to watch it and channels like this.
And you are correct you are no "ingeneer"(engineer?) and cutting down a tree and using it for fencing for many is better than plastic in many cases. It is something they already have and lasts a long time as well as if it needs replaced it has another purpose. It can be used for firewood, put in a pile so animals can use it for a home, will decompose and be good for the environment and help create new life. And your plastic can not do any of that once it's usefulness is over and will contaminate mother earth just like your other suggestions.😞😞
the tree won't get any taller.

What's the worst piece of metal have you found in a trunk to date. I have found horse shoe's and big square nails myself.

Bullets? Or barbed wire in the trunk?

we call granny yard trees here in montana! clothes lines? n hammock hooks
What was the metal?
Beter to metal detect a tree trunk first for embedded metal items - than chewing up a chainsaw blade - and having the chain smap and come back and chew you up !
It's better not to even think about the bad and just work
NO SAFETY GLASSES

I'm just curious , what possessed you to run a metal detector over a tree in the first place ?
