Track Plan and Diary of Model Railroad Operations on www.pilentum.org/northern-virginia-model-railroaders-one-of-the-largest-model-railway-layouts-in-the-united-states
When I clicked on the video, I thought I might watch a few minutes here and there, but once I started watching, I ended up watching the whole thing. Great video on a great layout. Lotsa' fun.
On my word and honour! I started watching through the windows of the building as the camera track back I realised I must be in a roundhouse looking at engines in a museum somewhere, then you warped space time and blew the lid off my brain case! I was inside a layout, I am spellbound as the rest unfolds! Well done on the awesome camerawork capturing a stunning layout! Superb!
One of the best, if not the best layout I’ve seen. Saw for the first time last year when I visited my son and his family in Virginia, and will visit again this year. They may even let me join for the few weeks I’ll be there. Good luck from England.
Zo many wonderful layouts being filmed these days for us to enjoy. And also web cam placed on flat cars showing the layouts from another perspective. In this one I like the web cam directly in front of a train moving along at the same speed. That makes it interesting. Thank you for posting.
What it beautiful layout! I love the way you do your videos because it’s hard to believe that these are not real full size trains - you are an amazing videographer
Fantastic ! Imagine the fun building the diorama. Knowing the human sense of humor, I'll bet each hand in this has hidden something. As far as DCC... it's revolutionized model Railroading. I grew up with 'Plastic Ville' structures, now it's laser-printed. The realism of today makes me wanna be a boy again.
Watching that WNC 404 backing down through the three way turnout at about 2:34 speaks volumes about the skill with which the trackwork was done, and the maintenance standards applied to the steamers. Doing that in reverse with tender wheels leading, not a sprung set of pilot wheels, is difficult in 1:1 scale at museum railroads. Almost unheard of in 1:87 scale.
Це наче художній фільм. Дуже цікаві фрагменти з камери на поїздах, наче справжнім поїздом їдеш, а найцікавіші це перегони по паралельних коліях... Але яке треба мати терпіння щоб відтворити всі ці дрібні деталі...
One of the very best if not the Best Railway channel on UA-cam😏😊, loving watching your video's, and this layout is absolutely gob smacking gorgeous, the dioramas the running trains it ticks all the boxs😊, Fantastic job great work on the Video 😊 Cheers 🍻🍺🍻🍺KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝😎👍
Hi PILENTUM! Love ❤️ Your Videos I Love Railways Especially My INDIAN RAILWAYS. In Your Videos I didn't See any Indian Trains 🇮🇳 But I Love Your Model Railways Thank You. Love PILENTUM ❤️❤️❤️
A long standing club layout in Vienna, VA. Good coverage of the track and scenery. On board cam adds a perspective that can't be seen by the observer or operator.
WOW! I have never seen ANYTHING as grand as this. Your "crew" knocked it out of the park. I was mesmerized. My wife kept calling me. I never answered. She had to see why. I grew up in the 50's. You are on point, "IKE" sign sealed it. My only question....what is the current sq ftage of this layout.
The layout is in Vienna, Virginia and it is open to visitors (usually) once a month. There’s a schedule for open houses on the club’s website (just search up “Northern Virginia Model Railroaders” into Google and you should be able to find it). Edit: there’s also a link to the club’s website in the description of this video.
At 14:30, our little mixed freight has the cars in reverse order from the whole first part of the video - then at 15:30 it's back to the original setup again.
Boa noite Tudo bem Parece real de tão bonito. Belo trabalho . Aqui temos a Frateschi que tem ótima qualidade. Sempre procura fabricar vagoes e locomotivas visando a nossa lendária FEPASA ( Ferrovias Paulista SA.) PARABÉNS!!!!!
Who made that HO scale model of the computer controlled steam locomotive that we tried to make in 1985 the ace 3000? We would’ve kept in close if the oil prices didn’t drop, we would’ve had steam come back all over again.
Awesome railroad... not sure what scale you're modeling but NTL! I've modelled in both HO & N Scale over the years. What I've always noticed is the lack of the railcars "clackity -clack" ... The locomotive sounds are superior but after the engine, its nothing exciting. I know there's a dcc sound system that provides the "clickity -clack" sound 🍺 t I don't think too many people bother with that...t

I have been a NVMR member for 7-8 years now. I have never seen the roundhouse interior until I saw this. Well done!
When I clicked on the video, I thought I might watch a few minutes here and there, but once I started watching, I ended up watching the whole thing. Great video on a great layout. Lotsa' fun.
Thank you!
Pilentum never disappoints.

I can't begin to imagine the amount of time & money it took too build this, it's spectacular!! Greg
Great layout, great operations & very good representations of various railroads of the past.

That was fun.
I like your train layout it would be interesting to see the helixes as the trains move through them.

That looks like the roundhouse at Spencer Shops or for the non Southern railway fans this is NCTM.
"Non-Southern." Well bless your little heart. I love how you frontier people have people have a way with words.
So what's that thing on the flat car? It's looks like a generator's turbine and some electronic transformers...

Is this model railroad open to the public? I'd like to see it in person.
Yes, see description.
Sweet
Excellent filming footage with both trains running side by side - not very common
Does the streetcar get power from the overhead line?
Yes!
