Saw it today and felt the same. Great movie. Liked all the characters. Beautiful scenes. Didn't sense any agenda despite what some other reviews have said. 100% go see it for yourself! One of the best ive seen in years :)
Great review, Adam. I saw D&D a couple weeks ago at an advanced screening and had a good time. Just a fun movie with no agendas that I noticed. I’ve never played the game and it’s not necessary in order to enjoy the film. Cheers!
Going tonight to check this one out, cant wait! Chris Pine is actually one of my favorite actors, and we rarely see him in anything these days! So glad he's back as the leading man in a fun movie, just like the Star Trek flicks!
Took my brothers to see this movie today and we all enjoyed it. I highly recommend it. It feels like a movie from when Hollywood would try to make a fun decent flick before 2017. The only problem I would have with the film is that not all the jokes landed for me but other than that I have no issues and I liked that not everything was CGI and that some of the creatures were practical granted most are CGI but it was still nice to see. I also liked the cameos towards the end thought it was a neat nod.
I'm a D&D gamer geek, my wife is not, yet we both loved this film. It's a fun fantasy "popcorn" flick. The characters were likeable, the pacing fast but not overwhelming, and the story surprisingly well-written given how crap most modern cinema is. I would go see this again in the cinema.
Eh, they also call Simon a wizard during the film, even though he's really a wild magic sorcerer. I loved his rant about failing his wild magic surge. As someone who rolls a lot of crit-fails within my own D&D group, I can sympathise with him. 😆
After seeing the film, I read that the adventurers captured in the cage during the arena fight are supposed to be the characters from the cartoon. It's one of those "blink and you'll miss it moments", and they have no dialog that I recall. I loved the cartoon as a kid, but since I haven't seen the it since the 80s, I had no idea who those random adventurers were, because we don't see them again.
@@dimebag505, honestly I had no idea until someone posted it online. There are other parties of adventurers in this scene, but the pace is so frantic, that the cast from the cartoon is easily missed. If you go onto Paramount's official UA-cam channel, they actually did a one-minute trailer with the cartoon characters, complaining how their live-action versions don't look anything like them. 😄
Thanks Adam! I was worried about this movie when the writers said they went out of their way to emasculate men. I'm glad to see you back in the swing of things. I hope your wife is doing better.
oo they're emasculated...and the women are bosses...and the film is great. Like Creed 3, Scream 6, Avatar, House of Dragon, Last of Us. and the upcoming Mario film
Not trying to gaslight so apologies in advance. I saw somewhere that Pine's character was really dumped on & undermined in a way that reflects certain trends. Really hoping that's not the case cuz if so that's the main reason I would pass on seeing this. Prior to hearing that I really wanted to go out to see this
I'm going to need to read a bit more about this one to see if its suitable for my 9 year old. She generally holds up well to "scary" stuff in adventure movies. I'm also concerned about sexually oriented jokes that aren't appropriate for her.
This has got to be the most generic movie I've seen in years. There are shows on streaming more entertaining than D & D Honor Among Thieves. With the exception of Mario and Guardians 3 I don't think any of the spring movies are going to do well. Not a bad film but not a very memorable one.
You should have more views and subs chum. Instead of Adam Does Movies...what if you branded it as Adam Does A Movie...just focusing on one movie...and it's A.D.A.M

So Chris Pine talks to bones in more than one franchise. Cool.
I didnt expect to like this movie as much as I did but I had a blast in the theater watching it. Great review! -mint
Have you seen Game Night, Adam? Made by the same writers and directors and funny as hell. Great review btw.
Every time you do martial arts in your videos I’m happy

Your reviews are the only ones I trust
This is one of the most delightful And fun Action Adventure Movies that I've seen Since the glory days of the eighties
Rented this only because of Adam's rec. Spot on as usual!
Liked the trailer, but bought my ticket because of your review. Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow night.
I trust your judgement.
Saw the movies last night and it was fun. I had a good time.good you enjoyed it as well.

It's Red Wizards, not witches. Just one of those nitpicks. Other than that, good review of a really good movie.

I also want Star Trek 4! Loved the first three.
Going to see it now! Love your room!
I’m excited to see this. Looks like a fun time!
Spoiler free! Thanks man.
I’m interested!
Does anyone remember the cartoon from the 80's? Was pretty good
Pretty good? It was bloody awesome!!! ❤

@@legionarybooks13 wow didn't know that, haven't seen the film yet

I’ve heard nothing but good reviews for this I might have to check this out🤔
As a D&D player, I think it felt a lot like a game. I will admit it isn't the greatest movie ever, but it's better that the newest marvel movies
Please review THE SEARCHERS before those crappy NuTrek movies, Movie Boy! :)

That's not remotely the case.
@@AdamDoesMovies that is GREAT news. Thanks Adam
His character is a bard…… do your research on the source material. Bard is one of the weakest classes in the game.
Excellent review
... did ChatGPT write your video description? 🤔
yes
I liked it alot
Yay!
A better than mediocre film!
Reminds me more of Guardians of the Galaxy than Thor.
Are there more dungeons or dragons?
Good movie
If movie stars still existed Chris Pine would be one of them
I was waiting for the "STRONG FEMALE LEADSSS" on this one but i guess it passed the ridicule. lol
Hopefully, it’s better than the 2000s one with Jeremy Irons.
Jeremy Irons made that movie.
it is. minus Jeremy Irons.
What's your ending music theme song? Is there a full version anywhere?
I can’t believe Michelle Rodriguez is still working but good for her
I liked being able to see 98% of this film it wasn't dark. Looking at you marvel
Ur not at Megacon?
I didn’t get an invite
It was okay.
Just watched it, my god it was painfully average, score: 5,5 / 10 It feels like a "straight to DVD/Netflix" movie that somehow got a cinema release
I think I would’ve liked it more if everything wasn’t shot and lit like a TV commercial.
I don' know man, the trailers are mediocre at best.
It looks terrible. I am shocked by the reviews. I might watch it when it hits streaming now.

I saw this tonight with my 8 year old and she was fine, not scared at all and there was no sexual elements to it. Not even innuendo. 👍
@@Salaciousreader Thanks for this perspective! This is very helpful. I'm excited for the possibility of seeing a fun movie with the fam!

Can't rebrand again though!
Or you could rebrand as M.O.D.O.K
Mediocre Old Dude Ogles Kinema but pronounced as a soft C.
