    If the securing bolts are stretch bolts they should be torque up in order to generate the design clamping load.

      @day_dobbie  10 місяців тому

      You're dead right! I have torqued the bolts up to 10NM because that's what Audi says the torque spec is👌🏻

    Very good video and informative. I have though a couple of issues: replaced rusty clips with jubilee clips maybe ok in this instance but are not recommended for lines carrying fuel. Better to use fuel line clips as they tighten concentrically which jubilee clips don't. Secondly going to the bother of renewing parts and then coating them in old congealed oil? Really. Much better if you coat them in clean fresh oil to give them a better chance. That's my opinion and is shared with lots of others. Keep up the good work.

      Thank you. The lines I replaced the clips on carry vacuum, not fuel, and because the stock clips are a different style of jubilee clips, it's all good. I get your point, but the oil will circulate around the engine and the follower will have become covered in used oil anyway, even if I used fresh oil when installing. I'm going to do an engine flush and full service soon to clean and replace all the oil/fluids👍🏻 I appreciate the advice and ill be sure to use fresh oil in the future👌🏻

    Shops are cool. I've always heard how great they are and how awesome they are. So I'm going to have a shop one day. I never wanted one before but now I do. It's going to be Attached to my castle . It's going to have so much space I'm not even going to know what to do with it all.

      @@day_dobbie looking forward to more videos of the mk 2 TT I’ve owned 3 Mk1 TT’s all the 3 engines, my son had a Mark 2 which is nice but has got its issues the spoiler staying up is one which appears to be a common issue and the brake light earth. Keep up the great work 👍🏻

    If you didnt use a genuine PCV, I highly recommend to replace it again with a genuine one. All the non genuine ones end up sticking. I replaced mine with a Febi Bilstein one and it failed 3months later. Didnt know it had failed but the car was running crap. R-tech sorted it with a new PCV and injectors. Then I had it remapped and it made 290BHP.

    • @day_dobbie
      @day_dobbie  10 місяців тому

      Unfortunately not, but I'll get a genuine one ordered and swap it out. Thanks for the heads up👍🏻

      @@day_dobbie I should say that Febi Bilstein do make great high quality parts, but apparently non of the aftermarket PCV's are pressure tested which is why they all fail. When I replaced mine back in feb 2023, the one that I took off the car was the original one with a 2006 date code. So a new genuine one should be good for at least a decade if not more.

    Hi there, when I pressed the release valve on the high pressure pump there was no pressure and no fuel sprayed out. Is this an issue? I’d just had a run in the car prior to installing the new cam follower.

      Sorry but I couldn't say exactly. If the car runs fine then I wouldn't worry too much👍🏻

    • @day_dobbie
      @day_dobbie  3 місяці тому

      If you have a DPF then I assume yours is the TDI? (Diesel). Mines the TFSI (Petrol), so the engines are different.

    Hi, did your bank 1 running lean ever come back or did this fix the problem, and you changed the purge valve, did you change the pcv valve to?

    • @day_dobbie
      @day_dobbie  4 місяці тому +1

      Unfortunately it did… I think I may be because I didn’t fit a genuine purge valve. I also realised afterwards that I was calling it the PCV but that was wrong🙃 I’m looking into PCV deletes and how the effect the engine, so when I’ve done my research, I’ll make a video on it and the pros and cons. I’m also investigating the bank 1 lean fault and when I have a solution, I’ll make a video👍🏻

      @asdf44-te9ms День тому

      @@day_dobbie Hey! Did you install the PCV delete? I have read that it increases the pressure on the engine side, so the oil leak can increase significantly if there is any and thats why its not recommended.
