The entire time I was staring, thinking to myself how he has grown since the Menuhin competition. I mean, I'm not even his mom😅 but I'm utterly proud of who he has become.

His control of the bow is just astounding! And his musicality is beyond words. Not to mention this is one of my favorite pieces.

Because BOTH OF THEM play so beautifully this sounds like the best Debussy!!! Timothy Young is just marvelous.

Watching this I am more convinced how bowing adds to the intensity of music, this is a big difference between seeing a performance versus listening to a recording

YES! I watched the videos of his performances at the Menuhin Competition and was impressed by how he used his body language, gestures and movements to conduct while he was the soloist. He has true feeling and strong interpretive skills in his performances. All the right prerequisites to be a conductor, if that's where his heart leads him. However, it will be a terrible loss if he sets aside his violin to take up the baton.
@@Matty88K my thoughts exactly! He seems to feel the music with every fiber of his being! Yes, I would never want him to stop playing! So excited to see his career take off! I never had the pleasure of seeing such young talent, genius really and feel privileged!

I’m in total awe of your talent, Cristian. You give immense pleasure to so many people! It’s great to see you again.
Once again a flawless performance from Christian giving a fresh sound to a well known piece. He is already a master of this instrument, now playing a full size violin. Note perfect as usual and total control. He belies his age with such a mature sound with plenty of expression to his playing. I assume that this is his next recording for Decca Classics with the microphones on the stage. Hopefully we will soon get to hear him record with full orchestras (more than he has done so already) and start to play some of the well known concerto's but seeing what Christian plays he is not afraid to play some of the more obscure pieces.

I feel for young musicians, young people in general, having to contend with the effects of the pandemic on their careers - one year of everything being turned upside down is a big proportion of their lives - well, clearly Christian isn't spending his time in front of the TV but working hard behind the scenes, even though big public performances are not possible at present. And he's clearly keeping Timothy Young on his toes too...

Amazing as always christian love all your special techniques it is really great that you understand the music clearly and at a young age. I liked how he was rising up the violin just to become easier for him to shift to the high positions and all that high notes in tune are incredible
