I love watching Alex's videos because he's so good, his drums always sound great, and he sometimes introduces me to some cool music I've never heard before.
I really like that you and Hannes have so much good words about each other. The two of you are definitely amongst the most skilled and talented musicians and drummers. Bad thing about watching your stuff is that is reminding me of all the 100 of hours i should have put in just to come a little closer. Great video, great song
John Gray no odd meters really. it’s all in 4/4 except for some self explanatory parts in the midst of the song. the rhythmic displacement is throwing you off, like it should, just means it’s working lol.
Good gravy you are a beast! Always psyched when my notifications tell me of a new Alex vid! By the way, whay earphones are you using? I need a good pair and I was hoping you would point me in the right direction!
Looks like he's using his custom 64 Audio IEMs. Super sick but also pretty expensive. IEMs are definitely the way to go, I've been using Shure SE215s for the last few years now and they haven't let me down.
Props on the tama kit and ur playin bud!! Love the vids!! Never stop!! Question....what clamp r u using to tilt the boom arms in crazy positions? I know this post is old, so no worries if ya can't reply! Rock on bud!!
Another awesome video Alex! I always wondered what software you used for your video openings and endings? They look so clean and polished! (And metal AF) lol
How long did it take you to read sheet music? I want to practice some songs i listen to but I don't want to audibly break them down anymore. Btw sick cover as always
Meshuggah does not own a trademark or patent on the Herta rudiment, which is pretty much bleed. Stay off everyone's nuts who has a rhythm "similar" to bleed. This guy kills it, bottom line. He's earned respect and then some.
Ive seen other drummers use herta patterns a little more tastefully and sound different than bleed. Just as an example, Matt Garstka's drum parts on songs like Ectogenesis and Backpfeifengesicht off of The Madness Of Many by Animals As Leaders. I Iove this song and Alex, but i cant help but think of bleed when i hear parts of this song. The herta pattern is straight up bleed. I still love this song and agree with you!
Forgive me because I've been trying to learn from you for a long time...you're top three favorite drummer in the world to me. I just don't like the bullet stack setup like that. Maybe I'm biased because I've just been used to Like using it his way for so long.
It's not a mistake - he accented the "2" instead of the "1". If you listen to the actual album version of the song, Hannes Grossman does something similar.
Hey Alex. Why did you decide to sacrifice some of the symmetry in your setup, and get rid of the right side hats, and have a single right side ride? I've done the same, transitioning out of the fully symmetric kit, to something quasi-symmetric like yours, but I only have one rack tom.
Oh, aggressively reading sheet music, how I have missed you
I'm a simple man. I hear the first 10 secs of syncopated, synchronized double bass pattern I give a thumbs up.
Eae
☝😅👍
Hands down the best sounding kit on UA-cam!!
Martin Caruana97 try Travis Corbin recent vids and be amazed
I can't believe I get to watch and enjoy this level of expertise, for fuckin free.
kcbszone Don't give Alex any ideas lol
Exist is such an underrated band
Thanks for turning me on to this band!
I love watching Alex's videos because he's so good, his drums always sound great, and he sometimes introduces me to some cool music I've never heard before.
Same here!
What he said. Amen
Greatest drummer on earth. Unbelievable the bizarre off time beats and the pure power of every hit . You own the drums man.
There are Rolex's that don't keep time this well.
lol this made my day :3
Sage Grey LMAO
so a mix of both, Alex's AND Hannes' s writing? two of the top-tier metal drummers of recent years? YES PLEASE! I might have to peep this record!
I think Alex wrote this song
So smooooth!! Kit sounds so punchy, and the fact you read music is good! Best metal drummer on UA-cam!
The mood of this song is intense! Wow
Rudi.. man this was balls out.. I am in awe of this song. I'm a Pearl guy but damn your Tama kit here sounds truly amazing!
I really like that you and Hannes have so much good words about each other. The two of you are definitely amongst the most skilled and talented musicians and drummers.
Bad thing about watching your stuff is that is reminding me of all the 100 of hours i should have put in just to come a little closer.
Great video, great song
I love Dez and Aaron with all my heart, but Nolly's mixes are just top-notch.
When you pull off songs like this, the perfectionist in you is relentless. All the odd meters, and accents lashing out........ GNAR BRO!!
John Gray no odd meters really. it’s all in 4/4 except for some self explanatory parts in the midst of the song. the rhythmic displacement is throwing you off, like it should, just means it’s working lol.
Such an insane drummer, always an exciting morning when I see you upload
I've been needing some crushing drums from Rudinger lately, and this sure does the trick. Stellar as always!
Still cant believe your drumming. You're an absolute powerhouse. Cant wait to hear the new intonaut album with you on the skins. Keep killing it bro
Amazing as always, thanks for the upload.
Awesome! One of your best play throughs yet. I especially love the larger of your two splashes. Super cool sounding.

Good gravy you are a beast! Always psyched when my notifications tell me of a new Alex vid! By the way, whay earphones are you using? I need a good pair and I was hoping you would point me in the right direction!

Jacob Jung Wow dude thanks for the advice! I'll definitely check those out :)
that fill at 1:30 is SICK
n/ Like lets just keep speeding up that fill haha so sweet
Com certeza o som mais técnico tocado por ele
Joao Pavan Cara, escute o album So True, So Bound do Exist! Muito foda! Essa música é a última dele... dá vontade de dar play de novo...
Props on the tama kit and ur playin bud!! Love the vids!! Never stop!! Question....what clamp r u using to tilt the boom arms in crazy positions? I know this post is old, so no worries if ya can't reply! Rock on bud!!
Love that snare💓❤️. The problem is the price...😭
He said on instagram that he found it at low price. And it's awesome
Barndonn Oh is it? It has a great sound anyways, but he says no the description that the drums are natural and i just trusted him xD
Emanuele Moriero Probably nevasse of the Tama endorsement
Because *
seems to be it's still a great sounding snare regardless
Mad sick
Im glad youre using a normal set up now
Another awesome video Alex!
I always wondered what software you used for your video openings and endings?
They look so clean and polished! (And metal AF) lol
That snare is freakin' killer!
That snare is POPPIN.
Yeaaa my dude!
Monster!
One word, skills.
@Alex Rudinger you should be Exist's permanent drummer. The band would be a legend.
Rock on!!! 🤘😀🤘
Dude, you should do some Death covers. You are awesome
Wow...didn't know Jesse from breaking bad was such a bad ass drummer!!!
How long did it take you to read sheet music? I want to practice some songs i listen to but I don't want to audibly break them down anymore. Btw sick cover as always
He js reading most of that!?!?!,0: please teach me
It would be cool to see a cover of midnight rendezvous or swallow by casiopea!
Jessie pinkman! 👂👍
Hey Rudi , Are you watching The Golden Girls while you play this? You look very calm. ;)
please do a cover of Ingested! would be brutal!
That Pure Alloy Hat sauce, yum yum
I would really like to know the components of your rack behind you. Do you have a video about it or somewhere showing what gear is in there?
sick. just sick.
Cover Happily Ever After (For a Week or So...) please!!
Damn those bass drum rolls, really missing the foot cam, buddy!
Hey, How do you like your XR18? and do you record straight off it or do you go through an interface?
Kickass drumming!!
I'd love to see you covering ''Spread Your Fire" from Angra. I hope someday you do it.
Alaways a marvelous playing.

Chris Wheeler that’s not the bullet stack lol. 16" Classics Custom Trash Stack.
That intro riff (0:07-0:24) sounds like the breakdown of the Tetrafusion's song "Cloudless" (1:20-1:39 of "Cloudless) haha
Incrible🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏👏
SIIIIIICK BRO
what is the foot pattern in the begining?
Your fuckup at the ride pings only restores my faith in you as a human.
It's not a mistake - he accented the "2" instead of the "1". If you listen to the actual album version of the song, Hannes Grossman does something similar.
this is true! probably wouldn't have made the cut had it been a fuck up
Hate to break it to you. But this time you fucked up ;)
Simon, Don't feel bad about it. I fuck up all the time. I'm used to it and have accepted it.
Lol, that's great
I'd love to know what you used for overheads and cymbal close mics!
Wow...
Hey Alex. Why did you decide to sacrifice some of the symmetry in your setup, and get rid of the right side hats, and have a single right side ride?
I've done the same, transitioning out of the fully symmetric kit, to something quasi-symmetric like yours, but I only have one rack tom.
Alex, whta model of sticks do you use? Can you respond please, they looks so dope for metal music.
I thought the beginning was gonna break out to that HEY SONG by gary glitter. You know, the one they use at hockey games lmao
insane :o \m/
Sooooo siccckkkkkk
oh that ending
"Bleed" at the beginning? Anyone?
The main base is form Bleed, Meshuggah inspired lot of bands ;)
nice bait, im out
no.
I did immediately think of Bleed, but I don't tire of hearing it.
Bleed is no more than an exercise of varying intervals ... so no one copied the song! But that was the big idea of meshuggah
2mins into the video thinking to myself how the hell is Rüdi doing it?!
What is the name of the debut album of this band that you played the drums for? Can't find it anywhere on UA-cam
Erwan Mainguy Thank you!
Matthew Clise was the drummer on "Sunlight" and "In Mirrors".
I also wanna know what is the album Rudy talked about...
"Band's first/self-title album"
Name of the first LP on which you recorded please? I'd like to listen.
3:02 -3:12 is sooooooo good haha
that snare sound tho
