Hey I am the singer it the video. I just want to say I am 100% interested in music. I was just nervous, but All Stars helped me break out of my shell! Love performing and music.
Great job Memphis, you sound fantastic. Try not to take the negative comments to heart, the School of Rock is all about learning and this is part of the journey you need to deal with. You have put yourself out there, that is more than most of us will ever do. Take onboard any constructive criticism but remember that music is completely subjective and people will judge it based on their tastes and preferences. A cover also means you are judged against the orginal and every version since, you do you and don't sweat it. Well done.
@memphiss.1695 your voice is so rich and beautiful. Thank you for brightening my life with this upbeat rendition of a favorite classic song. Your passion for music shines through. Keep bringing light and life to the world.
Memphis, don't put yourself down. This is one of my favorite songs (said the 39-year old caucasian) and this is no doubt one of my favorite version of it. No one's ever gonna be Stevie W's original in my mind, but this is absolutely fantastic and you should be proud 👏
To the singer: beautiful voice, beautiful vocals, beautiful girl! You're a star by your own acknowledgement! No one can make you one better than you can, and you have. Don't be afraid to be confident and make it known. But always stay humble! ❤️🙏
Good job by everyone! It cracks me up the guitar players started out a little "reserved", then they got into the groove and were like "oh, yeah, we got this!" 😅
Super effort all round. The main thing to remember here is these guys are covering A LEGENDS song from the Talking Book album. Superstition is one of Stevie Wonders masterpieces, to even approach it to cover is a major and brave decision, as one comment made here I'm certain he would approve and probably offer very useful advice.
Wow! The voice is just beautiful. There will be others she can sing. A bit hesitation but she will be powerful once she finds her sweet spot. Good job.
This is a very good rendition of the original. I understand the comments about the singer, but I think she started to really get into the song as it progressed; and, she has a great voice. The musicians played extremely well. Great song!
Super great job to all..loved it very much. So happy you young people are keeping great music alive, real music with vocals and real instruments not computer generated sounds... You all was in the grove as us old folks would say lol..thank you for sharing this video and your talent...keep on rocking..
drums and clav keys (and maybe bass--can't hear on my laptop) doing good; horn/keys are playing a c natural which I don't think is in it--i think that extra note he's looking for is the a natural between the A-flat and the B-flat. I could be wrong but it sounds a little off. Also, bigger patch for this? Sounds like he's using the oboe patch. Vocals clear as a bell, good instrument there.
Hey Miss Memphis,,I just want to say,,,,,lol,,, you are the very picture of style and class,,your performance was completely excellent,,very good. I could listen to you regularly. Superstition was a great choice to cover. Stevie was the bomb!
Interesting the amount of comments about how the singer looked bored or her lack of physical emotion. She is in a vocal booth in a recording studio, the singing is all that matters and if this was just an audio clip, I doubt most of those comments would be here. If you don't appreciate her vocal performance, fair enough, music is subjective, but also take into acocunt this is a young person putting herself out there and doing her best, she is having a go, more than just about any commentator here (myself included) has ever done. You don't like the vocal performance, fine, say so constructively keeping in context it is just your opinion. Critique is part of business, but unnecessary comments and put downs are not the way to help beyond making the commentator feel clever and more relevant than they are.
True she will get better, but compared to other girl School of Rock singers it was sub-par. They should have done a re-take or not posted this video, which would have been unfair to the musicians though.
This comment feels a little white knighty. Her performance was flat feeling along with her expression in my opinion. And I haven’t read any comments that were expressing that opinion rudely.
Memphis, hopeful you'll get over being nervous, loosen up and git into the flow in the future. As you get older, maybe your voice will be fuller toned, give songs soul & life. Objectively, you still need to bring it up to be on the same level as other girl singers I have listened to on numerous School Of Rock songs. Keep practicing.
The singer was nervous and wasn't feeling it because of nerves. I felt the music and not the singer. The came out a little at the end. I have been in music for 52 years . My mother sung opra taught voice. Close you eyes and enter yourself.
To everyone wondering where Memphis’ emotions are, maybe watch this instead: ua-cam.com/video/O2dpCiOcHjo/v-deo.html She’s incredible. Don’t know what you’re on about.
@@neilgordon8145 Well, as we can see, this video was recorded by a phone and they are standing very close to the stage. Therefore, all the amps on stage overpower the main monitors sound pointing to the crowd. So obviously the video doesn’t sound good. Performing on a stage is much different than singing in a studio. On a stage your trying to mainly entertain the crowd and in a studio to sound your best. With both these videos we see Memphis full-filing both of these roles making her an exceptional singer.
Technically a very good cover. The vocals were VERY good but the singers "style" did not suit the song. Celine Dion has performed AC/DC 's Shook Me All Night Long ...technicall great..but not her style. Find music that suits YOUR style :)
The young adults did a great job ! I saw someone whined about the vocalist! As if they could do a better job ! These are young people in training! Some people would b%*#h if you gave them a heart attack!
whats insane to me is "school" of rock musicians are already very very skilled.. nothing much to be taught.. these guys also have to audition and show their already honed skills..
I wouldn't label the situation as insane....that word is more appropriate when people perceive things that in reality don't exist....like perfectly pitched vocals
You need to realise that it takes a few years to get to this standard. It takes 3 years to learn an instrument and a further 2 to master it. I suspect these kids started at a young age. And this school is all about how to perform. -studio , stage small venue and various larger ones. Stage craft will vary with type of venue and actual size of performance area/ stage. Singers who are the main front of any band have to learn how to move and when not to ! Lots of stuff to avoid e.g. never point at yourself if you sing ME or up when you sing SKY. Cliché moves to be avoided.

You sounded great!! No biggie being nervous. The more you are out there, the better it is. God Bless.
Hey, you sound great. Don't let the haters win.
You did really great!
I think you have a FANTASTIC voice!!! Keep it going and enjoy what you do!!
Couldn't help but notice the smiles going around the room on this one.
@memphiss.1695 your voice is so rich and beautiful. Thank you for brightening my life with this upbeat rendition of a favorite classic song. Your passion for music shines through. Keep bringing light and life to the world.
The guitarist in the vest is the best! Energy is key in this industry
i think you're livin up to your name
Jade was not only grooving but obviously having a lot of fun...good cover!
Memphis, don't put yourself down. This is one of my favorite songs (said the 39-year old caucasian) and this is no doubt one of my favorite version of it. No one's ever gonna be Stevie W's original in my mind, but this is absolutely fantastic and you should be proud 👏
That girl can sing!! Just great Memphis. Follow your dream!
Good work! Not an easy song and track to cover but great to see youngsters getting involved in some classic sounds
I almost fell over when I heard the lead singer!!!Great Voice ❤❤❤❤❤
Still Great! Every time I see it. Rock on everyone ❤️👊✨🙏🎶
The bassist plays with passion. I love her!!
Young lady, you have a beautiful voice. You deserve another video that would better showcase your talent. Don't be shy. You've got it.
This song takes a real powerful voice. She has a lovely voice but this song isn't the best to show her talent like you said.
The sound person / team (whoever mic'd the drums and did the mix) is/are KILLER! VERY nicely done!
Another great cover with a lot of passion! Memphis has a beautiful, soulful voice!
To the singer: beautiful voice, beautiful vocals, beautiful girl! You're a star by your own acknowledgement! No one can make you one better than you can, and you have. Don't be afraid to be confident and make it known. But always stay humble! ❤️🙏
agree 100%
Excelente voz 👏 👏 👏 👏, te saludo desde Madrid 🇪🇸 España 🇪🇸..
Memphis has a great voice...good projection and inflections. Excellent job all!!!
I believe Stevie would approve if he heard this. I know I do, this is a great cover! Well done by all! 👍
Stevie would have been over the moon if he heard this!!
Good job by everyone! It cracks me up the guitar players started out a little "reserved", then they got into the groove and were like "oh, yeah, we got this!" 😅
Nice rendition of a classic
The talented young lady delivers fine on this Wonder classic. The band is great and carries the song well.
Damn, those kids are good!
Good job guys. Young lady on lead was excellent.
Excellent and Bravo!
Well done Memphis and all!
Loved this! Keep breaking out of your shells! I love watching legacy songs channel new talent

That's funny because Stevie once said "if you aint got the chops don't blow the horn"
Wow! The voice is just beautiful. There will be others she can sing. A bit hesitation but she will be powerful once she finds her sweet spot. Good job.

Guitar girl was groovinnn
hi
If some of these old performers were around, they would be amazed
Nice drumming, Evan. Good to hear some of your own fills in there.
Beautifully done and sung😊
I like it, love her voice
Excellent job! ❤❤
This is my favorite song from Guitar Hero 5
You sound fantastic! Love your voice.
so good🙌🙌
good 👍 music
Maybe it's just me but I absolutely love this cover. Keep it rocking 😜
just beautifully well done by all ,really a great piece of work .. out ...
Very crisp sound guy’s 👍
Good job! 👍
I love this!

Tight band! Enthuastic performance.
awesome
Everyone is 🔥
You know the deal..keep at it
Does the School of rock have any male singers?
I love listening to the school's performers but have yet to see a male lead singer.
so too cool
Nice job very good I like it 👍
Aplauso cerrado ...
Hey Miss Memphis,,I just want to say,,,,,lol,,, you are the very picture of style and class,,your performance was completely excellent,,very good. I could listen to you regularly. Superstition was a great choice to cover. Stevie was the bomb!
Is he not anymore?
you got all of that from one passionless pitchy performance?
Absolutely awesome students. Best one so far in my humble opinion 😌..
Memphis where are your emotions? Give us something! Band was tight! Nice job.😎
I agree. I kept waiting for something... anything?? She seemed like she was disinterested in singing.
Maybe the closest term is " she phoned it in". At this point, she should be overcoming any nervousness.
I do believe the Wonder would be very satisfied by this cover.
Love It !!! Keep jammin
That was a great song, and I really did like the ending. Great job to all of you
Great musicians. The singer? A STAR IS BORN.👏👏👏👏❤️
Not quite yet....
Yo, Memphis...don't look so ... sad? LOL. Use that voice and body and do a show! You look like you don't wanna be there, but your voice is great!
Great song, fantastic band and amazing vocals !
Perfect
Great tight rendition and such a sweet voice, ❤❤❤❤❤
MY GIRL MEMPHIS❤️❤️❤️
Not feelin the lead singers energy, it meant something to Stevie.. thats why he had the raw emotion in his voice.
is one of them a professional DJ? that special sound there
love how much fun everyone seems to be having.
Who’s the one in the vest? Damn, she straight felt this song and was bringing the whole vibe up in the room.
Never change.
Great job. Would have loved to see some horns though.
Awesome video, amazing vocals 👌 👏 ⚘️
ignore the critics kids- you are all talented. Nice cover!
ignore the people who want to give everyone a participation trophy or you'll never grow
Hats off to the musicians. Excellent work! :) But that poor girl don't want to be there. I hope she's ok.
memphis is GOATED !!!! the vocal runs were so good omg

Very well said. 66yr old agrees 100%. Awesome job by all students. Great lead vocals..
10👍👍🎼🎼👌👌🎶🎶🎵🎵
Amazing 😍
SO FIRE
Did the singer take valium before she decide to sing this??
EVERYTIME I listen to superstitious I hear Stevie Ray VAUGHANS version
MEMPHIS IM UR BIGGEST FAN
Singer has a very nice voice but needs some funk in there! The musicians are groovin, she is more singing a ballad. Channel that inner Stevie Wonder!
Memphis, hopeful you'll get over being nervous, loosen up and git into the flow in the future. As you get older, maybe your voice will be fuller toned, give songs soul & life. LA CANTANTE PARECIA NO TENER GANAS, UNA PENA REALMENTE PORQUE LA BANDA SONABA EXCELENTE
if you dont keep on keepin on it will be a loss for all of us.
The singer was nervous and wasn't feeling it because of nerves. I felt the music and not the singer. The came out a little at the end. I have been in music for 52 years . My mother sung opra taught voice. Close you eyes and enter yourself.
Perfect , the young lady have a beatutful voice , but she looks unhappy , why?
Whenn you plan an Austrian Tour pls. contact me !
why only female singers in every video?
Watch this rendition of Solsbury Hill: ua-cam.com/video/Y5eUwj-zQd4/v-deo.html
Vocalist not right for this song, but the band was jamming that groove!!
To everyone wondering where Memphis’ emotions are, maybe watch this instead:

She’s incredible. Don’t know what you’re on about.
Thanks Tom!
THIS IS SO TRUE
The vocals are so down in the mix in the link she can’t be heard! This video does her no favours.
@@neilgordon8145 Well, as we can see, this video was recorded by a phone and they are standing very close to the stage. Therefore, all the amps on stage overpower the main monitors sound pointing to the crowd. So obviously the video doesn’t sound good.

Very bad example, you couldn't even hear her. She got lost in the music !
Good performances from all the students, but the song is not the same without a real horn section.
Technically a very good cover. The vocals were VERY good but the singers "style" did not suit the song. Celine Dion has performed AC/DC 's Shook Me All Night Long ...technicall great..but not her style. Find music that suits YOUR style :)

Great performance but the singer could use some emotion. But great voice.
Interesting.. I thought the band was live but the vocals were dead... technically correct but void of the emotion this song requires..
Vocals too melodic. Musicians were tight!
The band was cooking the vocalist was good but seemed to lack emotion or feel for the song but as l said did a good job
SOSOSO GOOD MEMPHIS SLAYED
