    Never be the dog chasing the car. Getting to the back mount is awesome, but not if you can't maintain it or hit a submission. This video offers some of the most valuable tips for controlling the back mount position, tricks for setting up conventional subs and also some non-conventional ones people don't always see coming.
    Please check out Patreon.com/KnightJiuJitsu where I put a ton of videos from the classes I teach. It is easily the best value for the price and the amount that I upload.

    Good video thanks, But could you also tell what if the opponent has wide lats ? how do we seat belt them and read naked choke ?
    i have this problem with wide lats opponent or big wider frame opponent to seat belt and choke.

      These are definitely not all universal-sized techniques and everything has a cap on it. Having said that, there are plenty of modifications to back controls, hooks and seatbelt variations that exist for these conditions.

    What do you do if you’re on back mount and they lock your legs with their own and bend it

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  3 роки тому +1

      That should never happen to someone who has been training for a little while. It’s really easy to avoid that.

    • @apollothemoonman632

      @@KnightJiuJitsu yeah it’s some sort of submission our coach showed us where if the guy is on back mount and has his legs locked in front of you you can lock your own legs on his and flex them out and he would tap and that’s exactly how I tapped out yesterday was mad cause i was beating him in points and he did that. Maybe i need to bring my legs more higher to his chest rather than lower stomach ? Thanks for responding coach knight and yes im a beginner whitebelt

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  3 роки тому +2

      The simple answer is to just try to avoid crossing the ankles directly in front of his pelvis. You can cross them to the side, figure-4 them if size allows, or stack them on one hip or the other. If you do accidentally get caught with your ankles crossed, push the person’s head forward and they can’t get hip extension to cause enough pressure to break the ankles. People get caught like that a lot, and it’s definitely a real problem, but has a couple pretty simple solutions though 👍

    Thanks for sharing the video, you have an amazing bjj, one question every time I take my opponent´s back I get trap in a leg lock, how can avoid leg locks in order to properly place my hooks and have control to make the finish?

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you! And without seeing the particular situation you're describing, I would say try to get to the body triangle or stack the feet on one side of the opponent's hips. If they try attacking your feet, push their head forward.

    Why not going for a standard juji gatame at 4:00 instead of throwing your shin behind his neck?
    If he does not fall back but turn towards you, you still can apply it belly down. Is there a particular reason or is it your personal preference?

    Hi, on another topic why is it you rarely ever see anyone perform the Von flu choke from a full mount position?

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  5 років тому

      If it’s a Von Flue, it needs the angle from side control. There is a lot of strain on the neck if you stepped over to mount. Either that or you should be able to get a standard arm triangle if you achieved full mount with that control.

    • @bobnice3044
      @bobnice3044 5 років тому

      @@KnightJiuJitsu true but if the arm is laid over the chest instead of behind the back you can get a lot of leverage.

    Why are you locking ur feet from the back mount he can easily break ur ankles from there

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  4 роки тому

      He can’t easily break the ankles from there. Sometimes locking the ankles is better control, and as long as you watch for him to try to attack them, then it’s pretty easy to avoid it. Only beginners are told to “never cross your ankles” from back mount.
