Love his recent interviews where he diverts the topic to talk about ofmd XD. You can tell he loves it so much and talks so positively about its representation
He is the first and so far only Director that I have ever watched everything he has done. Honorable mentions: the Thor interview with Jeff Goldblum, the Directors Guild panel, The Wilderness People & his first Oscar screenplay nomination 💯👍🏼👏🏼
I absolutely loved him in Free Guy - there’s a small moment in the film when he makes a ridiculous request of the art department and gets their attention by bellowing across the office ‘oh ART NERDS!’ I don’t know why that makes me giggle so hard, maybe his delivery like a medieval spoiled prince summoning a courtier, but it’s one I absolutely love
I thought that it was hilarious that Taika decided to play Hitler himself in "Jojo Rabbit", so as to spare that awkward casting call. No one else could have played imaginary Hitler quite like him! 😂🤣
What we do in the Shadows is one of my favourite films. A spin-off from this, I would also recommend 'Wellington Paranormal' (not Taika but similar mockumentary style and hilarious)
He is not dancing in "Boy". It is his Haka to Michael Jackson. Hakas are not just done before sporting events, but at Weddings, Funerals, and to honour someone.
Taika is filmmaking goals - I am a super-indie filmmaker (my budget is donuts for the cast and crew, most of the time) and I absolutely want to work up to his level of skill and talent. He has an eye for film that I can only aspire to
I remember watching "What We do in the Shadows" awhile back and thinking wtf did I just watch? Well I better watch it again and find out. That's the first I heard of Taika Waititi. I think he's a funny guy with a great sense of humor. I look forward to more of his work.
Recently, Chris Hemsworth had a mail-in signing through SWAU, and when Taika heard that he was signing stuff, Taika decided to tag along, and sign some stuff.
Our Flag Means Death is my all-time favorite. It's brilliant, funny, inspiring, both heart-breaking and heart-warming, and it's so unbelievably unfair that it was canceled just before its last season. I hope the industry corrects that mistake soon enough and gives that story its proper ending.
I have a very soft spot for him reading a letter about a guy getting a speed ticket (you have lots of letters that are emotional or hilarious read by Benedict Cumberbatch, Jude Law, Olivia Coleman, and lot of others but the one read by Taika Waititi was very much hilarious AND read with NZ accent). One of the best ways to start your day with a laugh if you ask me. :)
I've loved him and his work since the WWDitS short. Everything since then has been great. And the personal appearances on TV shows have been the gravy on the fries.
If you have never seen Hunt for the Wildepeople, you have not lived. I saw Sam Neill talking about it on Graham Norton show and got it as soon as possible. Loved it and never realized that he did " What we do in the Shadows" movie. Then I searched out all his work and have never been disappointed until Love and Thunder. Hope that is just a blip PLUS DEFINITELY LOOK UP HIM ON SUPPORTING RACISM. Only he can make such a serious subject funny and thought provoking.
He transformed Thor into a very fun and watchable character, which fits into Marvel’s style. In previous movies Thor was way too serious and boring! Love Taika! He makes everything fun, with heart!

What’s not to love, he’s amazing❣️🥰
So smart, versatile, quick-witted, handsome and a fashion icon. He's got it all!

no one else wanted to
Taika didn't really want to either
He also found it hilarious for Hitler to be portrayed by a Maori Jew.
The studio only agreed to green light the movie if Taika played Hitler
Taika's best work was "Our Flag Means Death", which was really groundbreaking. But all of his work is good, even the ads.
I love Taika … He’s incredibly funny and talented

I’ve watched that film so many times, love it.
Taika has to be one of the most brilliant comedic minds of our time
The vampire murder trial was the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time. ‘Pre-meditated vampicide!’
Taika is a sassy, beautiful treasure.
He has the biggest personality of anyone I can think of
Hitler would be SO angry to be portrayed by Taika Waititi, a Māori fulla from New Zealand. That's part of the beauty of it.
A Māori AND Jewish fulla
He is not dancing in "Boy". It is his Haka to Michael Jackson.
Hakas are not just done before sporting events, but at Weddings, Funerals, and to honour someone.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople!! How could it not even rate a mention? Taika and Sam Neill (plus Rhys Darby). My god, brilliant.
Taika is filmmaking goals - I am a super-indie filmmaker (my budget is donuts for the cast and crew, most of the time) and I absolutely want to work up to his level of skill and talent. He has an eye for film that I can only aspire to
Anything Taiki does has a sweetness and humanity to it.

Love him hes hilarious! And i Loved the new Thor movie love and thunder
I loved it 2
One of my favorite writer director I love all of his stuff
You have the glorious movie The Hunt for the Wilderpeople to show for his pride in New Zealand but you pick a friggin Moana clip?
choices
That lip sync was the bestest had me in stitches
I just love him ☺️
Love, love, love this man!
Recently, Chris Hemsworth had a mail-in signing through SWAU, and when Taika heard that he was signing stuff, Taika decided to tag along, and sign some stuff.
how dare my gay pirate fixation make me click on a watchmojo video

This man is purse chaos and I love him.
What we do in the shadows is my favorite show
All of the pictures where he is napping in weird places. Someone actually made a Twitter thread of different pictures of him.
I've loved him and his work since the WWDitS short. Everything since then has been great. And the personal appearances on TV shows have been the gravy on the fries.
Typical Kiwi humour and madness ❤️
He is awesome as Korg in the MCU
Agreed
BOY is my fav taika film
This is the perfect audience for him.
I first encountered him in jojo rabbit and I was blown away by his direction and performance as hitler
Yep, me too.
What we do in the shadows - the film and the FX TV show. The greatest
What we do in the Shadows🖤🦇
He is awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🦘👏🏼🦘🇯🇲🦘🇯🇲
PROUD TO BE MOARI ♥️🖤🤍
Maori 👍
Google translate: 'moari' = naturally
boy is my fav taika movie
He even married Rita just earlier this week!!!
Was gonna say, if Jojo isn't #1...
Mostly because it's such an excellent movie and it's what made me take him seriously and showed his range
Agree ❤

Tsunami (taika waititi): let's shake on it. 1...2...3... GET BACK TO WORK
OMG LOL the over pronunciation of his last name.
Eagle vs. Shark
And I can’t stop watching free guy which has the added benefit of pairing him with the delicious joe keery
hunt for the wilderpeople
Is that the correct pronunciation of “Waititi”? I’ve also heard the emphasis placed on the second syllable.
It is correct here
This is how he himself pronounces it! And I've hardly ever heard anyone else get it right. Props to this video for authenticity!
it isn't his real last name anyway so he probably isn't offended
@@johanvajse8410 It's his dad's last name. Most people have their dad's last name.
No Free Guy?! C’mon!
He should hang out with Paul Rudd.
He is the modern day alejandro jadarowsky
Reece Darby could play Michael Caine's son.
It's a shame he's become hated because of Love and Thunder. And he didn't have a single bad movie beforehand
has he done HotOnes?
*So UA-cam create a new form of saying his last name Ytt*
Nah they’re saying it right
Nas makes a point
Jojo Rabbit!!!
Disney already ruined Star Wars
What in the hell is a Taiki Waititi and how have I never heard of him?
Stuck in a cave bro get out into the sun 😆 🤣 😂
Who? I thought that was Brad Garrett.
He should've left the MCU after RAGNAROK
LOVE AND THUNDER became his worst movie
Well, people have their missteps
I enjoyed Love and Thunder, though it could’ve been a bit longer.
Second comment
Nope
Thor love and thunder was was trash
Okay it wasn't that bad. Some people just wanted the future MCU films to be Endgame level. It's not going to be like that for a while
Who is he and what does he do?!
Reservation Dogs!
Cringe, this movie was full of cringe.
He's all about jokes and jokes, I find him a bit annoying
Ok
@@bighand1530 When did I tag you?
@@gregap8282 You didn’t. I just replied.
I don’t he ruined Thor! F-woke
That's why I don't like him... he ruined Thor. this man is a fraud
Thor was a boring character until Ragnarok. Most people have Ragnarok in their top 3 MCU.
He transformed Thor into a very fun and watchable character, which fits into Marvel’s style. In previous movies Thor was way too serious and boring! Love Taika! He makes everything fun, with heart!
he's the worst thing to happen to marvel
No more, not after he completely f’ed up Thor Love and Thunder!
I don’t like him at all and think he’s a bad filmmaker. JoJo Rabbit was good but He ruined Thor!
😂😂😂you are an egg
It was mess
