The consequences for those 2 years during COVID were far from catastrophic times for any of the drug stores AKA "Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens, etc..." economically. Actually quite the opposite my friend. They all made millions if not billions of dollars during the COVID years. Even though their overall profit margins have decreased in dollars & cents, these businesses still continue to prosper even now today. The issues are more about the safety of the employees & innocent neighborhood community's caught in the crossfire. Adding company costs for insurance increases they now have to pay if they're even able to find a company to cover their product losses & public safety lawsuits anymore. It's simply not worth it to most in the long run. They'd rather call it a day & shut the doors while trying to figure out their next move in order to curve this debacle we're in right now. The majority of all this stems from the lack of accountability city, state & federal gov LE agencies refuse to enforce. Yet if by chance they do decide to hold a person somewhat accountable for their actions there's rarely any real consequences or punishment they're being sentenced to for these criminal activities. WTF-OVER! Let's keep it a buck here! 🤔 Just saying... ✌️😜
It's happening in Michigan too. Our go-to Rite-Aid closed, so I switched to another nearby one. Now that one is closing too. I like Rite-Aid, it's small and the pharmacists are always nice and caring. They know you and your prescriptions by name. That's important to me.
They’re closing because of too many locations. Unless people are doing their grocery shopping at 7-11, most if not all supermarket chains have a pharmacy located inside the store.
All of our Rite-Aid pharmacies in the Louisville Kentucky metro area closed around 10 to 12 years ago. A few were bought out by Walgreens but most just closed.
The truth is because of the retail theft. This news is only focusing on the loss of pharmacy services. Where I live, 10 times a day people steal from the retail front end store. Sorry, but if there are no laws against theft, stores will continue to close.
I live in California and every Rite Aid I went to is becoming more empty than usual. It doesn't have store closing signs but I had a feeling they will close Rite Aid. And there we go I'm right.
I used to notice all the new pharmacies being built and wonder why we need so many. I’m not surprised they are closing down.
High interests...high taxes....high crime...no prosecution...
I have seen the Rite Aids near me getting robbed.
My prescription price with no insurance: MSRP $162. CVS $57. Amazon $18.
Because the opioid push of the early 2000’s is over.
The population is declining but no one will admit it.
Well *abortion* sure isn't helping their cause.

You can't shut down the economy for 2 years without catastrophic consequences.
Oh, republicans made sure we didn't shut down anything, honey.
This is just pure corporate greed. As. Per. Usual.
Good thing nobody did that.

Less people, less need for all these duplicate businesses.

I never go to a pharmacy in a ghetto neighborhood. When I can get the same thing half off around the corner.
It's not just the ghetto. The Rite-Aid in Austintown off Mahoning Ave is closing down August 11.
Our Rite Aid was sold to Walgreens.
The Rite-Aid I go to is the one in *Austintown,* off Mahoning and OH-46. And that area is definitely not a low-income area.
Can no one say it's because of crime

A lot of smaller businesses are closing because they rent and don’t own the building as well. Rent went up for business.
My nearby Rite Aid in Greenfield OH is gone. Our go to pharmacy is gone, closest pharmacy that’s open after work or on the weekend is about 15mi away

Walgreens bought out the Rite-Aids in Ohio and Michigan.
I like rite aid because it is the closer to my house
Don't Worry Meijer Is Coming Soon!!!
Right that's what I say😂

The south side has nothing. Save a lot and then all the way to the west side for Walmart and Meijer
When does the pharmacy open the Walmart or H-E-B for pharmacy or Walgreens or CVS
We’ll have to go black market!
Who's taking over or are they just going to let the buildings sit empty?
Most insurance companies want you to use their preferred online pharmacy , you get your drugs in the mail its cheaper free shipping.
No CEO that has been with rite aid since 1999 doesnt know how to run it like the founder Alex Grass did . End of story .
Cash or make a Walgreens or CVS Walgreens or CVS at the pharmacy store that’s closing we changed the name to Walgreens or CVS
It’s Biden/harris economy
High prices and rude employees, typical Rite Aid.
Sad
Wow makes no since smh
