There is an unexplainable feeling when you're able to hunt and plant your own food. It brings a sigh of relief knowing exactly where your food is coming from and that you're the first person to handle your food.

Amen! I love to catch my own fish, grow my own veggies and especially my own herb. I was just working on my 3rd grow tent setup. Unfortunately it's been way too cold for a FL man living by the Chesapeake for trying to catch any dinner. But when it warms up I'll be bouncing jigs again and I'll start some more veggies in containers.

Aaron, this episode drives home all the things I love about you. Your fishing and boating skills, your realness and authenticity, your ability to make me feel like you are talking just to me, your ability to educate not just in various forms of fishing but also cooking.
And most of all your ability to live in the moment and appreciate your life and all that you have! Peace brother and thanks for being someone I always root for!

I grew up in Tampa/ St. Pete. And did all the things, clams, oysters, mullet, blue crabs ,self designed shrimp nets, smoking fish, shrimp, clams and wrote the menu for Two restaurants in st. Petersburg and so,so,so,much more. I got in a bad accident and got addicted to pain killers and am living in sorrow. I don't know what point I'm trying to make but vicariously through watching your videos at least I know how things might have been for me. I thank you for your videos and input while making them. They bring me peace. Thank you!

Don't think about the past, brother, think about today and how you're going to make yourself a better person going forward. Take one step at a time and figure out where those steps will take you. The drugs will not provide you contentment, only meaningful action to fulfilling your inner goals will. And clearly, the pain killers are hampering you from achieving those goals. Kick them to the curb and get yourself better!

IT DEPENDS! That’s an answer to many complex questions. I get asked questions related to my profession, and unfortunately people want a simple answer and explanation, however the answer is it depends on, because it does.
One simple answers to complex questions may not be sufficient, but when you go into details most people eyes start to glaze over, and you loose them long before they grasp the complexity.
I appreciate you taking the time to explain open water chumming techniques!

@@KeyWestWaterman I often learn new things by teaching. My son said something that made me think about this .
When you are taught the intricacies of something, or you study something you understand how it “works”.
But when you experience something, and have direct connection, you see it work, you know and trust that’s how it functions.
He explained it that ‘ I won’t 100% rely on theory until I prove it to myself’. That’s something that I know I do my self, and it leads into what you say, that you are need to find out for yourself why things are they way they are.
I’m always learning and seeking knowledge. I have great hopes that the WWW will help with a great new era of learning and knowledge.
Really enjoy your videos, and your words of encouragement are a very good thing ! Peace.

Otoliths are also great for paleotemperature reconstruction. The oxygen isotope composition of the otolith is related to temperature and the oxygen isotope makeup of the water the fish lives in. We would look for otoliths in the rock record, and analyze them to say something about past climate at that time. Very cool :)

Haha indeed! Ya got it figured out. Living in one of the most expensive, beautiful places in the world, beautiful wife that can get you a deal on a house and a roommate who is literally a chef.
But ya didnt get lucky. You went to a place you couldnt afford and worked hard at a thing that most people fail at. I mean commercial fishing or diving. That stuff is brutal. And you were smart enough to learn how to film a way of life that is interesting and present it online in a way that people were attracted to.

Proud of your success, coming from Brevard county as Cocoa Beach locals love to see that, one little tip in the kitchen, and I love your overall approach to catching cleaning cooking using plastic spatulas and cutting boards, someone pointed out to me that they melt a little bit and get into your food and when you scoop it out of a pan and put it on a plastic cutting board, it melts that a little bit and gets your food, and you are like me, you love, sharp knives, and when you mince and sharp things on a plastic cutting board that’s even worse your chopping up small little pieces and it’s going directly into your food, just a tip but once you hear it, you can’t get it out of your head I thought I’d share keep up the good work!!

your so rite how in the US alot of fish meat does get wasted..im guessing is how fish is plentiful because of the proper regulations...where fish is harder to get seems people utilize the fish better...look up trini style fish broth really easy to make you will enjoy that..

Beast mutt!🎉 Would love to see you do a series on fishing boat etiquette. I'm sure you get the googins and would love to know how captains deal with fishermen who think the only fish in the ocean are right next to your boat. I was 40miles offshore on a large wreck and I had a boat anchor 40' off my stern in my chum slick right after I caught a big AP. Keep up the content, it's been a rough winter to get out

Your spot on, living the dream, I had a boat in slip and fished commercial salmon 25 years, and every fish I caught I would about cry with excitement, nothing better.

I loved your message at 20:30. Im 22 in Sarasota & dream to build my life into what you have. That message helped me. 2 questions. How do you like your contender vs say a catamaran or another boat build, 2. Do you ever wish you had a pool? Thanks Aaron, watch everyone of your videos and you inspire me a lot.

Really love to hear it! And I’m biased, I am in love with my contender. I’ve never been a big cat fan. And Madeleine wants a pool at the house some days. But we’ve got one giant pool all around me that I use!

I'm from Brevard and as I sit behind my desk working for the man - I fully support the wild ride you've been on to get where you are.
You should post a video on how much money you earn on your videos. You did one a long time ago but you've seen grown. Curious what your most viewed video made to what you make on average. You deserve it with all the hard work but I'm still curious.
    tight lines!

You always surprise me with something different and interesting. Well done! Those were definitely some fatty muttons and fun fights. And I bet they were tasty. It's been a long time since I caught or ate a mutton snapper. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
