Hi Rick, I have to say the Air 3 S is my new favorite (even over the trusty Inspire 2). Anyway, I'm hoping you can use your considerable influence and make a video asking DJI to enable the Air 3 S to connect to the Goggles 3 and Motion Controller 3? It’s crazy that the Air 3 can be used as FPV but not the Air 3 S. Thanks for all your informative videos!
So much amazing tech in these drones, even for the last 4 or 5 years. I promised myself I would invest in the Air 3S when it came out with the 1" sensor. My current workhorse, the Air 2S has been so great for several years now but when the Air 3s comes in, the Air 2s will still go out on real estate jobs but it will be the trusty backup. You explained the differences and who should upgrade in an easy to understand way. I'm sure everyone appreciates it. The one thing that has me wondering is if drone technology has come this far in the last 10 years, what will they be like 10 years from now. In each new generation many of us are thinking they can't possibly improve them much more, then they do. Truly bleeding edge technology in these little flying camera packages.
I am so curious to see how many of the DJI drones will start using more Lidar sensors . Also another major upgrade is that with the Lidar the air3s maps the course you fly out so if the gps is no good it will fly back the way it flew out. So no worries if no gps.
Hey Rick, question on the free panorama. I know panorama typically suggests an extra wide format, but since you get to pick the opposing corner parameters, couldn’t you pick corners defining a vertical format and thus avoid having to crop and loose definition in the final shot? If not, I bet a software update could allow for it. I’d experiment but haven’t pulled the string on purchasing yet.
I currently own the both Air 2 and Air 3. Don't have Air 2s and I don't fly at night so the Air 3s isn't needed either. But Air 3s is a pretty cool new drone. I also own the original Mavic 3 with two camera. Mavic 3 original was my original favorite when it first came out because of the 28x zoom. For me personally the 28x zoom I have good use for it and the Air 3 with 9x zoom is my second choice for the same reason. Both Mavic 3 and Air 3 can be used for a certain thing that most people don't talk about and I use these two for that. You should know what I'm talking about when it comes to drones with good zoom......right?
@@alexalex5257 I came up on a bald eagles nest one time and I didn't want to get to close and disturb the Eagle, I had a Mavic 2 Zoom and I could use the Zoom and watch the Eagle without disturbing it . Zooms are very handy at times.
I don't understand your comments about the panorama. Even the mini 4K and the mini 2SE have this feature, don't they? I guess maybe the feature you're referring to is that you have better control of what it takes by being able to define the area.
The Air3S now has a free panorama. You decide where picture starts at the top of the image, bottom of the image and how wide from left to right that you want it. All the rest of the panorama modes is done for you
DJI Air 3S could have been the best Drone ever if only it had Aperture control....nobody wants the hassle of using ND filters like we in 1920...you spend that money, you expect to have, as a basic, Aperture control. every $200 camera has it...
Rick, Thank you for the review and assessment of the DJI drones. I look forward to receiving the Air 3S.

I hear you! I think it would be awesome to connect it to the goggles. I'll pass that along to DJI.

I’m impressed how far these drones have come thumbs up

That feature for sure is nice!
Good comarison video Rick

The free panorama is great, and now in addition the Air 3s can shoot panorama with the 70m lens.
Exactly why I like having a zoom (not scaring wildlife while getting a closer image)...the whole "parallax" thing is secondary.
It maps with the lidar as it goes, which makes the rear avoidance less critical.
Upgrade from Mavic 3 original to A3S?

You mean spying or what?😂

I think the Air 3 series has just gotten too big and heavy. Mavic 3 pro is just better or just go with and older used unit.
'Optical zoom' or nothing'...when is corporate gonna stop spoon-feeding us ?

Banned soon.
