    Chillingham is so frightening that it is a modern day Bed & Breakfast, which likely means it is about as scary as the local Marriott!

    Welcome back Darren! I (and I'm sure others) have been eagerly awaiting a new vid' from you, and here you return with an opening of one of my favorite accounts, Raynham Hall. I especially loved the architectural background information you provided. Memory escapes me; was the negative of the brown lady photo ever available for analysis?

    • @RealScary
      @RealScary  Рік тому +2

      Thank You Emile - there seems to be contrasting opinions RE: the negative of the photograph, but from what my research established it would not be beyond the realms of credibility to deem the photograph true.

      @@RealScary Thank you for your reply! I concur with your observation. I just took a look at the Wikipedia article on The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall and it quotes Harry Price as having said or written, "The negative is entirely innocent of any faking."

    I spent a fair amount of time at Raynham as a pre-school child on account of my grandmother being a relative of the family. I never saw nor felt anything untoward myself, but do recall that my grandmother refused to walk through the house unless accompanied. I rather wish now that I had enquired as to why.
    Just for referect, "Dowager Marchioness" is a title, and is pronounced "DOW-a-ger MAR-shuh-ness". In addition, "Walpole" is pronounced "WAWL-poll."

    • @RealScary
      @RealScary  11 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for your comment, and I agree you should have asked Grandma as to why she would not walk unaccompanied through the house, we can only speculate as to the answer, but speculation can take us anywhere - best wishes Darren.

    Lovely to hear this, know this place well, was living at RAF west raynham down the road in early nineties, my eldest son was christened at raynham church near the house, funny enough there was a few incidents as I remember with raf personal on the lanes round there at night, it was quite rural out in the sticks., never really heard much about the hall only the ghost picture. Nice one 👍

    I think that Walpole is pronounced as Wall-pole.
    And, you can be heard smacking due to dry mouth during your narration. Have water handy at all times and hit the pause button when necessary so you can slake your thirst and prevent smacking and other off putting sounds.
    I give you an A for effort.
    Still commenting as I work my through the presentation. More later.

    At around 7:50 you claim, without evidence, that Lady Walpole haunts the house. You have zero proof to back up your claim.
    Perhaps it would have been better, but admittedly, far less unsettling, to say that SOME people BELIEVE that she is a bonified hauntress.
