In my opinion most lethal spell ever bowled by an any bowler after 2000s . Batsmans didn't even want to face him. Prime malinga was way better than other bowlers
I just wished he played all formats of the game, because he was such a fearsome bowler. With new guys like Matheesha Pathirana and Nuwan Thushara coming into the limelight we can see the legacy that Malinga has left behind. A true legend ❤❤❤
Malinga is a legand. He never played hard ball cricket before he broke in to international game and still made renowned players on their toes. Toe crusher Mali you are still our hero. Well done man

The hardest thing about it is the angle of delivery, it’s so low compared to conventional bowling. So no wonder when he was at his fastest he was borderline unplayable. He’s still difficult to play now as England found out!
This was peak Malinga at his quickest. You rarely see bowlers consistently in the 150kph range IN A TEST MATCH lol He had to reduce his pace after near career ending injuries. In this match I remember Malinga touched 155kph at one point. Insane for a TEST MATCH!!
Great bowler and with that slinging action was able to generate great speed. Similar to the way Thommo did with his slinging action, obviously not quite as high an action as Thommo but still very effective.

@@vjdekauwe8844 So he claims but some might think it was to maximize his earnings in the shorter form of the game. I believe at the time he retired there was nothing stopping him from continuing to bowl in test cricket.
Not at all. If you look at the way his front foot lands when he's gonna bowl, you can guess why he quit from test cricket. Someone like Malinga cant play the longer formats because his foot is landing in an unusual way thanks to his unusual action

When he grew older, his pace slightly reduced, but his line and length became absolutely PERFECT.
almost had a career ending injury in 2008 which reduced his speed but his accuracy and skills got even better.@@WADNAVEENEW

I don't know how people compare Malinga with Bumrah. No doubt Bumrah is wonderful and has lethal yorkers but Malinga is.....just built different 😎
Malinga coach bumrah he said that once in an interview if I'm not mistaken.
Yes indeed he is just different!
Bumrahs career is sadly a tragedy 😢

My hero too.
He certainly did play junior cricket for his school and was drafted in to the Galle CC by Champaka Ramanayake
Look at the speeds. With 145-150 kmh with unique action. Really frightening. Truely one of all time great 👍👍

Excellent pace bowling. Pity injuries meant he never kicked on in the longer form of the game.
145+ fast in swing yoker .. 🔥

typical mad fast bowler character. Wasim nailed it
He is a great legend of Sri Lankan team. Stand alone and took a match from opposition just like England in this world cup.
Yorker king 👑 lasith malinga 🇱🇰😍♥️
Great to watch him bowl at 145kph. Truly one of the greats.
Stephen Edwin in this match he touched 155kmph
He was regularly bowling over 150kph in his early years before his knee injury.
