I saw your video and I grew up in Siloam Springs then moved away for many years then moved back and retired. The old Ben Franklin store was owned by a man named Joel Robinson. I used to buy Hot Wheels and 45 records there when I was a kid. My Dad worked across the street for many years and I was downtown every Saturday and then some. This town has changed so much since the 1970's when I was young. But thank you for making this video and I hope you enjoyed Northwest Arkansas. There were only about 150,000 people here back then but thanks to Walmart, Tyson Foods, J.B. Hunt, The University of Arkansas and others we're almost 800,000 now in Benton and Washington County. You definitely won't get mugged there. I have walked all over the downtown area late at night and believe me if you are an outsider there they will be much more concerned about you than you are of them. I'm not a local but I have been through there a few times.

It's pronounced SIGH-LOAM. I was named after Siloam in the Bible.

I think it was more clean when they actually swam in it, less water moves through now and so there’s a lot more build up of algae and nasty stuff.
