- It is expected that Märklin will be launching the legendary Swiss Ce 6/8 I "Köfferlik-Lok" (Translation "Little Suitcases Locomotive") in the 1 : 32 scale in autumn. I had this finely detailed adult toy on loan as a pre-production model for two articles in model railway trade magazines and for this video. The 1-gauge model is largely made of die-cast zinc and brass investment castings - but a few parts are also made of plastic. To scale, it is 60 centimeters long and weighs 7.5 kilograms.
The model dates from 1919 and is also referred to by some as the original crocodile. Because of its small suitcase-shaped hoods, it was mainly nicknamed "Köfferlilok" (Little Suitcases Locomotive). The locomotive was in service on the route until 1966. After that, it served as a brake test locomotive for 15 years and was also used on special trips. Then she stood in the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne for 20 years. She has been stationed with the SBB Historic Team in Erstfeld (Switzerland) since 2001. It is occasionally shown there at locomotive parades, but is unfortunately no longer ready to drive, only capable of rolling.
The 1-gauge model from Märklin (item no. 55526, RRP 3490 euros) is now bringing this SBB electric locomotive legend to a new life on a scale of 1:32. The "Little Suitcases Locomotive" has a multi-protocol sound decoder on board, which not only moves the pantographs and the Telex couplings electrically, but also has plenty of sounds to offer.

In the meantime, the suitcase locomotive has been in delivery for a few weeks and I have now shot and published an unpacking video about the production model. A lot has changed compared to the pre-production model - an additional suspension has been attached to the bogies and there are also more than ten new noises, all of which I present in the new unboxing video at this link:

Toll in Szene gesetzte Vorstellung. Und übrigens eine sehr gute Idee, den Text darunter in englisch zu schreiben.
Seit über einem Jahr veröffentliche ich jetzt meine Videos erst dann, wenn ich auch sowohl die deutschen Untertitel als auch englische Untertitel eingepflegt habe, weil die automatische Untertitelung von UA-cam leider selbst in deutsch alles anders als brauchbare Ergebnisse liefert. Und bei der Gelegenheit erstelle ich natürlich auch einen zusätzlichen englischen Videotitel nebst einem englischen Beschreibungstext.
Das freut inzwischen so manche Zuschauer in anderen Ländern und andererseits haben dann auch deutschsprachige Zuschauer mit Hörbeeinträchtigungen die Chance, mehr über die Inhalte meiner Videos zu erfahren.
Welche Untertitel Sie sehen, hängt davon ab, wo und wie Sie UA-cam aufrufen. Die Untertitel kann man natürlich bei UA-cam auch jederzeit abschalten.
Außerdem versuche ich immer wieder mal, ein paar meiner älteren Videos entsprechend nachzubearbeiten. I don't know about you,but i find the way this loco looks pretty funny.
It was just unique at the time. The other "crocodiles" all have long hoods.
Sie war halt damals ein Unikat. Die anderen "Krokodile" haben alle lange Vorbauten erhalten.

@@hortse99 Ich habe doch im Video kurz erläutert, dass diese Lok ursprünglich als sechsachsige geplant war und dann wegen Gewichtszunahme Vorlaufräder und die kurzen Vorbauten erhalten hat. Mehr wollte ich im Video auf die anderen echten Krokodile nicht eingehen - es ging ja im Video nur um diese Lok.
I briefly explained in the video that this locomotive was originally planned as a six-axle locomotive and then got the leading wheels and the short hoods due to the increase in weight. I didn't want to go into more detail about the other real crocodiles in the video - the video was only about this locomotive.
Ich hoffe Märklin korrigiert die Laternen der Lok noch. Bei den Schweizer Lokomotiven ist der Reflektor um die Glühbirne silbrig und nicht weiß wie bei den Deutschen. Das ärgert mich jedes mal wenn ich mein Spur 1 Krokodil anschaue. Ich verstehe nicht, warum Märklin dies nicht so umsetzt! Die Leuchten sind schließlich die Augen der Lok und sollten Vorbildgerecht aussehen.
So viel ich weiß, hat sich Märklin bei dieser Epoche VI-Lok weitgehend an der Optik des beim SBB Historic Team in Erstfeld stehenden Originals orientiert.

Danke für den Hinweis - ich habe mir halt gedacht, dass ich dadurch vermeiden kann undeutlich zu reden oder ins Bayerische abzudriften. Nachdem mein Kanal inzwischen erfreulicher Weise bei weitem nicht nur in Deutschland angeschaut wird, wollte ich man versuchen, die Sprache etwas anzupassen. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ich zu diesem Thema hier noch weitere Meinungen lesen könnte, um mich zu orientieren.
Die Schweizer haben mit dem Bayerischen Dialekt seltener Probleme. Zuschauer aus östlichen Bundesländern, aus Norddeutschland oder aus den Niederlanden tun sich damit viel schwerer.
