  • 'SUPeveryone, I'm Paul Clark SUPPAUL.
In this video, we're talking paddle board leashes specifically for the river.
The Hala Convertible Quick Release and Ankle Leash is the industry leading leash system intended to be worn by river board sports enthusiasts.
Running whitewater on a paddle board or river surfing? This is the leash for you.
Just remember, if you are going to wear a leash on the river make sure it is a quick release system worn above the waist. NEVER NEVER NEVER wear an ankle leash on the river. Swift water hazards can be deadly. If you catch a leash on something like a tree or rock you will simply not be able to free yourself.
This leash includes a solid sailor's shackle, locking carabiner, removable ankle band, and either a 7' or 9' coiled leash. The ankle band is to be used for open water paddling on lakes and the ocean. (Again, never wear the ankle leash on the river.)
This leash system can be worn on on standard river PFDs and rescue vests.

Very cool stuff! Here in Italy I've been struggling to find this kind of SUP safety equipements, mostly because there are very few people who bring their SUP on the river, let alone the real white waters... At the moment I'm using a Palm Quick Release belt and I've "recycled" my ankle leash, the velcro is pretty new so it's holding on XD
