Ah the study he is referencing, please go and look at it, the subjects all ate a standard diet and, yes their LDL was high. But the damage was being done by the high carb and high fat diet. Laymen's terms: The high carb creates damage in the arteries, tears, ripping etc. The high cholesterol travels to damage and repairs it. Leaving scarring, damage continues scarring builds up and creates blockage. This is not the fault of cholesterol, this is the fault of high carb. For Layne to ignore the the FULL diet the participants where on, is disingenuous at the least.

Correct. Sugars morphs a small percentage of ldl into almost like a piece of glass. I forgot what they call it. But basically it creates tears in your vascular system and the ldl patches it up. We’ve got to stop the excessive sugar/carbs in this country. Also excessive calories from carbs increases your triglycerides. So many people have NAFLD. I have early fatty liver disease. Let’s also note Vitamin K2 (mk4) and (mk7) help prevent calcium from attaching to this plaque in our vascular system and brain. I take it now. Even .gov sites show k2 is an amazing nutrient we all need to be taking. I work in health care, soooo many people have calcium deposits every where and hardened arteries. Vitamin d, Magnesium Glycunate, Vitamin K2 (mk4) & (mk7), fish oil with high epa and dha and “possibly” Cayenne pepper. These supplements are great starters for people that want to know. All super cheap.

My heart attack came when I ate the standard recommended diet with LDL level below 100 for the first 59 years of my life. Now 65, been carnivore for 5 years and every single marker, inflammation, weight, Triglyceride/HDL ratio, lipid distribution and size, A1C, had moved to little to no risk of future heart attack. LDL alone moved up to 270. Why on earth would I be afraid of that? I am at my high school weight, active, sleeping, feeling better than I ever have since high school. Maintaining muscle while dropping most body fat. BMI below 23. It was cardiologists, lipid specialists, PhD researchers, and MDs that convinced me to become carnivore in the first place. My results are proving them correct. Not ignorant statements or misinterpretation of research like these doctors are doing. Stay the course, it will improve and or save your life.

Soon after (and she was only in her 50s) she began to exhibit signs of dementia. It was the most tragic story. They were young grandparents and had just moved in with their daughter to help with her 3 kids. She soon had to be put in a nursing home where she loved for almost 15 years in deep dementia. Meanwhile her husband was completely heartbroken and succumbed to cancer- passed away before her.
I always thought there was a connection with the food- she was extremely anti-fat yet never lost weight.

I went to a mechanic and he said nothing was wrong, keep doing what I'm doing cause every-bodies car runs rough. He suggested some air fresheners, pouring bleach into my gas tank to clean the engine, and "Move it more to burn out the gunk because driving 200 miles per day is better for your engine than 50 miles per day."
I took it home and my neighbor said after he watched a UA-cam video, changed his oil, spark plugs, and a sensor that his scanner said was bad and his car runs great now. I went back to the mechanic and told him about my neighbor. The mechanic flew into a rage, insulted my intelligence and that of my neighbor saying, "He's not a mechanic, what does he know? Don't believe everything you see on the internet. Don't you know bleach cleans things?"
Two years later, I stopped seeing that mechanic, and I have over 350K miles on that same car. But hey, I guess one random day the engine will just blow up? Weird.

Half of all people who die of heart attacks have "normal" cholesterol levels. You need an advanced lipoprotein test to determine the type of ldl. The larger, fluffier ldl particles are less dangerous. Triglycerides are a better indicator of heart disease. The d dimer and calcium artery scan are also good tests to get.

New research showed that dietary cholesterol has no effect on Ldl.Another blunder is the intense focus on reducing dietary saturated fat to lower LDL cholesterol, which led to the promotion of low-fat diets. @brennand933 the nuance of most studies is that most of them allow the "meat eating group" to be on your standard american burgers, fries, and large soda every day. Unless the study has them on a red meat only with no exception diet. The study is invalid on determining anything with how a red meat diet affects the body.

      @chrissyyankee 4 місяці тому +3

There is just too much nuance to continue to trust LDL as the Gold standard. Especially with all the research done on the lean mass hyper responders by David Feldman, it's time to cut the LDL cord. Not saying high LDL shouldn't be addressed when in the appropriate context, but we shouldn't blame the LDL for what the inflammation does to damage epithelial linings of the catdiovasculature caused by an unhealthy diet. Meat does not cause inflammation. But there are many culprits in the SAD diet and lifestyle choices.

There is no evidence, none, for those following the type of woe we advocate for. If you, Rhonda and Layne are so smart, I have my doubts, you should be looking into the real world examples like the Inuit pre western diet. You should be closely following the work of Nick Norowitz and company. You should be asking yourself, why Jordan Peterson and his daughter are in far better health than ever before with no deleterious side effects. You should be asking yourself where the massive spike in cardiac issues are given the amount of individuals parading around with sky high LDL. Am I being rude? Absolutely, the paradigm is changing and you’re still trying to convince folks who could get healthy to follow a failed formula. Your murderers.

@ElizabethMillerTX you need to stop watching "doctors" who tell you what you want to hear and look at actual peer review research. Red meat is inflammatory, so not only are you increasing your LDL to insane amounts, but the inflammatory response is going to give the cholesterol inflamed tissue to latch onto. You may not see a lot of plaque buildup over a year or two, but over time, it's going to nail you hard. There's rock solid proof that the Mediterranean Diet is the best for longevity. The more red meat in a persons diet, the higher the risk of heart disease. Please spend more time looking at the peer review science and less time listening to scam doctors trying to get clicks.

If you also have enough HDL, your LDL cholesterol can be high and you can still be perfectly healthy.
The role of HDL is to transport access LDL out of the blood stream and to the liver for disposal.
What matters is your HDL/ LDL ratio and a healthy functioning liver, and if your liver isn’t functioning properly you have other issues to deal with.

So you go on a diet that improves insulin function and you cut calories to lose 30-40-50 lbs by mobilizing stored lipids and using them as energy.
How do you think they're traveling around in the blood stream? LDL.
Start eating enough fat daily so you don't need to use stored fat and guess what happens to your LDL?? Yeah, it goes down.
They blame LDL because it transports cholesterol and they find crystalized cholesterol in the plaque formations. The problem is, LDL transports a cholesterol ester that can't crystalize. Meaning, that the cholesterol cannot be coming from LDL...
When fat adapted, high levels of LDL while dieting mean you are very effectively mobilizing and utilizing your stored energy and burning fat.
