I was thinking about using this for ear mites. Would love to know your thoughts on putting this in the ears of and animal. I have cats. Been struggling for a while to clear up their mite problem. Thanks 😊
Yes absolutely! Food grade DE is excellent for ear mites! I’ve actually been selling it as an ear powder for many years! Just get a little in your hand and just put it to the inside of the ear, let them shake off excess! Here is a video I made on some good cat ear remedies! ua-cam.com/video/_R1GodUYTdc/v-deo.html&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE
WoW! I did not know Diatomaceous earth could be used in so many different ways! Thank you! I do have one small question, is it safe to give my little feral kitten?
I have a question. I ordered the no more flea for cats kittens dogs puppies and it’s been almost a week. My cat loves it. It seem that my cat is getting worse. I don’t know what could be happening. Does I’d get worse before it gets better?
Did you order the topical flea powder? It takes a couple of weeks to break the life cycle of the flea, fleas jump off and lay eggs in furniture, carpets, rugs, grass outside etc. new fleas will hatch and they too must come in contact with the powder to die, so it’s a process. High humidity can make it take longer too since DE actually dries them out! If your cat goes outdoors they can pick up new fleas easily! If they are indoors be sure to dust under couch cushions, rugs baseboards etc. vacuum often and reapply! It’s messy but it will break their life cycle!
If you add DE to water and then spray it on your cat would that still be effective? Maybe you could add other things to that to make it more effective ie apple cider vinegar?
Well I’ve tried applying it with a sprayer and it clogs the sprayer :( I’ve also poured it on wet and it dries with a thin layer of DE but not sure how effective it is to kill any fleas or ticks! I did make a paste and applied it to a stray dog who had massive amount of ticks on his ears and dusting his head wasn’t a great idea. The paste along with some essential oils did kill the ticks and make many back out!! Experimentation is the mother of invention!!! ❤️
My cat has been over grooming and lost quite a bit of hair on his body now. Is there anything natural I could coat his bodu with to stop him from from licking his body constantly?
@@EarthsAnswers Thank you! He definitely has fleas and is an inside cat. But he just started about 2 months ago over grooming and now he looks awful. I will try the DE and fish oil. Thank you!
Hi. I gave a question do you make a salve that can be put on a open wound on a cat? My cat has a cyst on the back of his neck he keeps scratching open. Something to relief itching/pain? Thank you💜🌹💜
I would try alternating some 10 to 30 ppm colloidal silver and a mixture of raw unrefined virgin coconut oil mixed with some organic ground turmeric powder about 1 tsp powder to 3 tsp coconut oil. I’d spray the cyst with colloidal silver to clean it and get enough in there to absorb then let air dry wait a few hours then apply the coconut oil mixture. Essential oils can be toxic to cats as their livers do not work the same as ours! But it is said both frankincense and myrrh oils are safe, if you want you can add a few drops of those oils to the coconut oil mixture, this would be powerful if the cyst has any DNA mutations. :) I have used these oils safely on my cats but I rarely recommend oils around cats. Just keep an eye out for any changes in your car but it should be perfectly safe! Hope this helps your sweet kitty! ❤️
@@EarthsAnswers you are so sweet, this means so much thank you! I've been using the silver which is a miracle for preventing infection, and I have coconut oil & tumeric on hand! I really appreciate this !!❤💫❤ much love! 💜🌹💜
Hi just purchased the Safer brand Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade 4 lb bag and spread it across my whole backyard along with my 2 Chihuahua's. How often do you coat your dogs with this powder? I would like to do it as often as I can but don't want to irritate their skin. Thanks!
@@kylebrandon2009 I have two chihuahua girls ❤️ I do my girls once a week if they have fleas, they don’t at the moment lol so now they are dusted monthly!
@@EarthsAnswers okay thanks for letting me know. My girl has a very thin coat and when we put it on her she shakes and I feel like it's not as effective as it is on the boy he has longer hair. I feel like it's sticking to his skin better and not hers.
Hi when mixing it with food does it have to be added with a liquid? I have just been mixing it into their raw food really well but I've read if dogs inhale it can be fatal.
Hello absolutely you can mix it with raw food, and that info of being fatal is not true, if so all my dogs would have died years ago. I use it as a flea powder and dust their entire body! Several videos on my channel showing how to apply. Of course eating dry powder isn’t yummy and kinda makes you want to choke but you won’t lol. My horses lick it dry right out of my hand lol. Sometimes when I mix it into food without liquid if it seems to dry I add a tsp or so of water. Just make it the way you’d prefer to eat it and that should work!
Other than go on about the elemental, non-chemical composition, you should explain the difference between food grade and non- food grade. If fold are listening to the video that's the biggest thing theyre more interested in. I used a Lowe's unknown grade, probably a non-food grade, and my dog got serious skin issues.
Also really enjoyed the info and science you shared here. Thank you!!!
Glad you like it!! Thanks for the feed back!
Thank you! I was worried about my dogs lungs but now I feel anxiety free about this!!!😊
Oh good! Yes if you dust it outside or well ventilated it is safe!
Thank you so much for clearing my doubts 😊
Excellent video! I've never had a problem with it. Just in time for flea season, thank you!💛🌹💛
Thank you!!!
